We are aiming at May 23, 2013. I've never been there but all I am really expecting is a relaxing week with clear water, nice sandy beaches and some yummy island food. Thanks for the info, I think that most resorts make places look better than they are in pictures. I've been reading reviews and there is only one bad one about the restaurants around there but I am not sure when it was written. Do you know anything about the food there? We have a kitchen so we aren't worried but a few meals out would be nice. I was told that it is easy to get around with a golf cart, is everything really that close to the beach club? Wow you have a big group! That should be a lot of fun

Not sure if this matters anymore but I heard breezes is still going to have weddings on the resort they have just moved their guests to another resort.

Kalik, It's nice to hear of another bride getting married there. Everything looks so nice at Treasure Cay and Bahama beach club. Are you and your guests staying there as well? We are planning on staying there for a week and get married on the beach there and a small beach reception (we will only have 18 people max). What made you decide to do a reception at TC resort instead? I am in the process of talking with Jerry about everything. So far so good, he seems very attentive and responds within a good time manner. Nancy

Hi girls, I actually just changed the colors to red for maid of honor and gray for the bridesmaids and all having red bouquets. Red and plum was just too difficult to choose and too bold for a beach wedding.

I actually just changed the bridesmaid colors.....what do you think?

Since we have not finalized any dresses or anything I actually just changed my mind again on the colors. I know this looks creepy but its something davids bridal has to view colors and see the whole bridal party. Any thoughts?

Hi all, I am somewhat new to this site and am reading a lot about getting a travel agent to help pick resorts and plan things. Also we are only planning on having our parents and 2 siblings so is a travel agent necessary? We are not planning on any guests (maybe the bridesmaids and groomsmen but we are not counting on it). We are planning on 2013 and right now are very interested in breezes bahamas, the prices are affordable for us (we are paying for our parents and siblings too). The problem is breezes bahamas says that the free wedding they offer does not apply if you use a travel agent. Loving this site....

We are also in the beginning stages of our research and I found this site along with tripadvisor.com helpful when researching. We narrowed down to areas where we actually want to vacation and get married, costs (we want an all inclusive) and i just found out that certain islands have specific rules about getting a marriage certificate (documents and some actually require you to be there a certain number of hours prior to the wedding)....this site is amazing though everybody is so helpful and encouraging

I am also a 2013 bride We got engaged July 9th. We just looked at a few venues this past week here in Boston and now seriously leaning towards a DW in the Bahamas probably May of 2013. So far this site has been amazing, there is so much to read and so many ideas and reviews of things. Good luck!

Kat...yes it is definitely nice not to have someone on my back saying I don't like the way you did that when i'm the one spending all the time finding and planning things. LOL

My fiance is the same way. I recently suggested him picking something that is important to him and letting him be in charge of it but he said he doesn't know. In a way it's good because i have a type A personality so I usually pick a few that i like and have him choose that way we are both getting what we want and I am still in control (LOL). We are in the beginning stages of planning so I'm sure once we get down to the details I will be more frustrated with him not helping me. I am also working full time, doing a master program part time and wedding planning.....a lot of stress

We have not even announced our destination wedding plans to anyone but our parents but there is already drama. We are planning on flying our parents and siblings out to an all inclusive resort for a week for a vacation and our wedding ceremony. Then when we are back in Boston we will have a reception for everybody. My parents are fine with it but FI's mother is insisting we do not do it because we will not make our money back.....shocked was my reaction. She is telling us to do a traditional asian wedding so that we will make our money back at the banquet. FI is insisting we do whatever we want because in the end it's our wedding but I am hesitant to start out our marriage and my relationship with his mother like this. I thought they would be thrilled....I mean a paid vacation for them what else could they be asking for. She even said to him why don't you two just go get married why do we have to go?? I was beyond words when he told me this. She doesn't even want to watch her eldest son get married?!?! In her eyes it's all about making your money back, not about our happiness.

I am wondering what color flowers to use. My dress is ivory, my MOH is red and bridesmaids are plum. I am not sure what would look good against their dresses and incorporate all of the colors. 1. purple 2. pink 3. reddish 4. red I think i am going to use plain white calla lilies for my bouquet but instead of a white i'd use a colored ribbon that would match the MOH and bridesmaid flowers. Any suggestions?
