  1. Not sure if there are many UK brides out there finding the same problems as me. I am insanely jealous of all the amazing deals our american and canadian brides are getting from retailers like dollarama and oriental trading. So sad they don't ship to the UK! I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so we can share any good finds either in the UK, or that can ship to the UK. So far I have ransacked Vistaprint, got lots of free bits and bobs from there! Still looking for fans (raffia or sandalwood) travel mugs first aid kits (the other brides are getting from wallmart for like $1 but cant find anything similar here) Any help would be appreciated greatly
  2. Oriental Trading don't deliver to the UK - boo! Will keep looking for Rafia fans but think it'll need to be sandalwood. I'm still undecided about fans for the men, it's a shame that they'd probably just bin them after the wedding was over
  3. The raffia fans are lovley and I love your idea of incorporating your wedding programme on it too. I spent ages searching for those fans but cant seem to get them in, or shipped to, the UK (for a resonable price) I totally agree the men will definitely be sneaking a little fanning for themselves but I thought they could share with their ladies seeing as they will appreciate them more. It would be nice to give something else for the men ... maybe handkercheifs? Is that a bit weird? I'm thinking sweaty + photos = need for a hankie!
  4. We have decided to leave a sandalwood fan on each of the ladies chairs for the wedding ceremony but I'm not sure if we should have a similar gift for the men? Don't think the fans are very manly but not sure what we could use as a substitute, has anyone found a solution to this? Thanks
  5. Oh my gosh they are fantastic! I'd say even better than bought bags and what a lovely touch for all your guests! Well done!
  6. you did a fab job, I love the little bottles of wine to celebrate
  7. I feel most comfortable using powerpoint or word for all my DIY projects but know different people have dfferent preferences. Have a look on youtube for video tutorials on the program you are most comfortable with
  8. As far as I am aware you can buy a tool from any craft store which will let you perforate your own paper/card
  9. Love your packages - your guests will be so excited to recieve them, i know i certainly would! Great job
  10. Hi DaryaB, I plan on choosing cake/flowers when we arrive. Lots of the other brides highly recommend the mexican style cake so I think we'll go for that one We have just booked Gonzalo Nunez as our photographer and I'm ridiculously excited about it
  11. Hi everyone, We have finally booked our GP wedding after over a year of deliberating! The big day is not untill next July but we are eagerly counting down the days! First of all thanks for all the amazing information, pictures and advice ... I don't know if I could have booked a destination wedding without this forum! What do you think of our timing ideas? Catholic ceremony in church 4.00-5.00 Photographs 5.00-6.30 (Do you think this is too long?) Dinner (Portofino) 6.30-8.30 Cocktails 8.30-10.30 (Please help with location suggestions) My other question is regarding the $20 set up fee, does this still apply to church weddings as there won't be any set up of chairs etc, although we would still like champagne for all our guests? We will have 40 guests.
  12. I spent days reading all the forums and got myself so excited I couldn't wait to start diy'ing! I am now an official vistaprint addict too - love all the freebies! I'm glad I'm not the only 2013er on here though
  13. First of all I'd like to thank all you lovely ladies for all your amazing threads which inspired me and made me want to have a go at making my own invites.
