Did your girl Vanessa happen to suggest flowers to use that would be in season there? It's the same problem I'm having, all the flowers I like are out of season.

I've been on MyFitness Pal for almost 2 years now. We can be buddies if you want. My screen name is jsspiff on there. I've got about another 10-15 pounds that I want to lose in the next month and a half. My goal is to get down to a size 8 by May. That's the size I was when my FI and I got together 5 years ago.

Hey Darcy, Here is where I'm getting my sheers. http://www.efavormart.com/tulle-and-organza.aspx They have a bunch of different fabric types in all different colors. I think the polyester rolls probably would have been ok too. I decided to do satin. I think if you go back to some of my other posts I put up the photos that my WC sent me of different materials. I liked satin best, so that's what I'm going with. I think they're 29.99... way better than the 200.00 a piece the resort wanted me to pay for satin. That's an awesome score on the sashes too by the way... maybe I should be posting on the knot... I haven't been looking there.

What is everyone doing/did for their bouquets? I'm trying to get a good idea for a purple cascading bouquet, but one that won't cost $680... like the first picture I sent over. Apparently Calla Lilies, Peonies, Orchids, Freesia and White Roses are out of season in May.. How did you guys go about decided on the blooms for your bouquet? The other annoying thing is that he won't give me a price per stem... only pricing on photos I send him altogether... maybe I just need to start photo-shopping my own bouquet, since that's the only way he gives me prices.

My fiance bought a Stays Cool Suit from JOS A Bank... normally it's a $700 suit... but if you get on their mailing list a couple times a year they do a 70% off sale, plus you can use coupon codes with it too. He got the suit and 3 Stays Cool Dress shirts for less than the price of one dress shirt normally!!! The best part of the Stays Cool Line... is that it's wicking!!! and fairly wrinkle free. So important since my fiance gets grumpy when he's uncomfortable, and the last thing I want on my wedding day is a groomzilla. Thought I'd share for the other thrifty brides out there. I thought this was a good price, we paid 269 for 6 (six) groomsmen.

Well ... we're having an AHR but my MIL offered to cover the cost and throw it in her backyard since our "Rehearsal Dinner" is covered by the resort.. plus I think this gives her the ability to do all the planning stuff she really wants w/o saying no to my Destination Wedding ideas... essentially we're both getting what we want this way. She gets the party for her family with all the stuff she wants... and I get the BEACH!!! Not to mention that she's just all around super anyway. Plus, this has turned out really good too, because I have some family now that can't go to Mexico and they wanted to do something back here in the states too.

I wanted to do these sooooo badly.. but our resort won't let us since there are palapas everywhere ...

The thing is that those take up space, and would people really use them in the resort? I want to make sure that I don't buy one of those wedding things that you get and then never use... or worse just throw away... thoughts anyone.... any other good items out there for OOT bags that were really useful? I'm thinking maybe some of those little battery powered fans... I'm getting soooo close to that 150... I'm at 124... well this one makes 125 I guess...

Darcy that is a great deal!!! where did you find that?.... also, on the cost for decorating... I figure the amount that I will save will far out weight the amount they would charge me per item, so $5 per person or $150 for set up is still way better than say.. oh .. $200 per sheer... at the whopping cost of $1000 for 5 sheers!!!. ... it's a charge I'm willing to take, and since I'm going to have to pay for it. I'm going to get everything I possibly can on my own to throw into that set up fee. When I'm done, I plan to add up all my own spending + set up fees.. and then see the true savings from ordering ala carte.

If you have the newest office, you can actually do everything that publisher can do in Word. and it might even be little more user friendly.

Lovely... I might just steal the idea myself. do you think you could email me the file? If you don't mind sharing that is?. I think you have my email?.. the jsspiff one? ..I'll have to change some of the details around of course, but already having the format could save a lot of time... If not, I'll just use it as my standard to reference. either way I love it!

I became a Vistaprint junkie a year ago. You need to follow sale links to get things other than the standards free. You can only claim one freebie at a time, per type of freebie. In other words you can get the free business cards, free invites, free postcards all in one order. But you can't get 2 free set of business cards in an order. Then you do have to pay shipping. I took super advantage a while ago, just keep in mind the cost of shipping does add a $ value to each of those free items. That being said, I'm totally using vistaprint for my welcome letters, postcards in OOT bags, and menus later... maybe even my programs. On top of all the other things that I've already printed. Everytime I make a point of adding in a free pen, tshirt, stickers, and bag too.. they come in handy.

CONGRATS!!! WELCOME TO THE GROUP! Just be careful, I had 2 years to plan and alllll those ideas are hard to weed through.... making decisions are hard. Now with 4 months to go it's all coming down to actually picking things out... and that's much harder than I ever thought it would be... especially since my FI has said "anything you want"... it'd be way easier if he said "no, that's tacky ... or no, that's too expensive"... but noooo... he wants me to have the day just like I want it... sigh... and pinterest doesn't make things any easier. Everytime I think I've made up my mind, I find a new idea on there. Just look at all the centerpiece ideas I posted.

Beautiful.. and you're way braver than I am... however you also spent WAY less money than I did... so that's a win win for you I'm sure.

Thanks... I actually live in DC... but I was a Syracuse native.. and I agree Buffalo is a great place to spend the day... lots of good friends are from there.

Ok.. after much time and deliberation.. I think this is what I've settled on... I did a mock up on my kitchen table, using tissue paper as a stand in for linens and cut up napkins as rose petals. I decided on tinting the edges of the petals instead of painting them.. everytime I tried just painting them they looked awful lit up. This is brighter and cleaner... but still colorful. lights on What do y'all think? Do you think people will think they're cheap? because they're made from paper? That's my biggest worry.

If anyone scores a good deal on paper parasols let me know. I want to buy 15-20 of the them for people to use on the beach during the ceremony. .. Can't seem to find a decent deal anywhere.. I'd really love to buy them off of another bride.. but not turning up many leads there.

I'm new to this thread and I'm getting married on 5/25 at El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya Mexico. Here's what I got to wear on the beach. It's from Call It Spring, which is actually an Aldo company too. and they're really cheap right now since It's out of season. http://www.callitspring.com/us/clearance/womens-sandals/wedges/87981461-rolen/81 only 14.99 since clearance sandals are all an extra 50% off right now... they have other really cute silver and rhinestone sandals too. and free return shipping, so I just ordered I think 9 different pairs of sandals, 3-4 styles in 2 sizes.. and then returned all the others when I settled on these.

I would like to second the color route..I'm the 25th of May! My colors are peacock ones.. so teal, purple, and green.. with silver accents.. but mostly purple and teal. I'm thinking teal tablecloths, purple runners, purple scarves...Finding teal that isn't turquoise is proving to be a bit difficult. With 5 tables.. with me thinking that I won't beat 30 people coming down.. if that. so if anyone wants to go in on a set with me I'm down for that. I know I've seen other brides on here do that, where they split the cost and then they leave them with the WC for the next bride... I haven't ordered my linens yet.. or if someone who already has them wants to go halvsies with me.. I'm down for that.
