  1. Hi everyone, I noticed all the posts about Dreams saying that you are not allowed to use outside vendors. Has anyone used the DJ that the Dreams recommends? Is he worth it? I do agree with other brides, the price does seem high but I am nervous about just having an ipod play. I noticed for $180 an hour ( plus tax and gratituty)they allow you to use speakers along with a technician but this too seems high! If you pay for a hotel room for an outside vendor ( and treat them like they are guests) I wonder if they would still give us an issue. My wedding is in May and I dont have anyof these details sorted out. I was hoping to use LaLuna as my photographers but the no outside vendor policy is stressing me out! Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks so much. This forum is great.
  2. Rick, Thanks so much for all the information- soooo helpful!! I was looking at Del Sol photos- look AMAZING. I am trying to work them into the budget. Did you do trash the dress and or have videographer? If you dont mind me asking how much of a fee does Dreams charge for outside vendors?
  3. Hi Rick, Thanks so much for your reply. Did you TA/WC plan the majority of the wedding for you and work through Ana? Is she based in Riviera Maya? I was under the impression that the rececption/cocktail hour needed to be booked in advance- I am worried that another person may book before me lol. I am planning to get there a few days before wedding but it makes me so nervous not seeing anything until a few days before! Did you book your photographer and DJ through Dreams or did you usse an outside agent? Thanks so much for your replies- it is so helpful! Cant wait to see your pics!
  4. Hi Rick, Is the seaside grill partially outdoors or is it completly inside with a dance floor for recpetion? Does it have AC or fans? I have been trying to get an idea of available areas for reception and cocktail hour but Ana sends me one or two pictures which isnt to helpful. I would love to do the entire wedding outdoors from ceremony to reception but I am nervous it will be to hot. Did you pick your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception when you arrived at hotel right before wedding? Any more insight would be greatly appreciated!! Congratulations!
  5. Your tube videos were so helpful thanks so much for posting!! Having visual helps so much! I really want to have entire wedding outdoors but I am nervous about the heat. From what you saw- what did you guys end up selecting for cocktail hour and reception? Are you having beach ceremony? I orginally wanted to get married at gazebo but I dont like how it is so close to the pool. There was another area on you video that the guide said you can be married- was it on a terrace- I couldnt make it out? Thanks so much for posting!
  6. Thank you so much for the link. Your posts are so helpful and your wedding looked beautiful as did you!!
  7. Thanks so much for sharing. If you could provide any feedback about Dreams, wedding, and locations available to have both wedding reception and cocktail hour, I would greatly appreciate it. I recently booked May 21st, 2012 for my wedding and am super excited. I am just having trouble understanding what locations are available for cocktail hour and reception. I know pool deck is an option for reception and looks beautiful, but I am worried that it may be too hot? Has anyone seen or does anyone have pictures of other spots to hold reception? What about cocktail hour? Also, has anyone gotten married at gazebo- is it private? Sorry for all questions, its tough to get answers from Ana- I know she is busy and since my wedding is months away, I am not priority but I am getting anxious. Also when do you reserve photographer and DJ? Has anyone used outside vendors. I am not sure what I should do first! So overwhelming. Any feedback/advice would be so grealy appreciated. Thank you and congratulations to everyone!
  8. Hi All, I am new to the forum and just finally put my deposit down for May 21st, 2012! It seems like there are alot of people here getting married at Dreams Riveria Cancun in May- it was so tough to find an available date! I am trying to figure out the available locations for cocktail hour and reception. I understand the coorindator is busy and since my wedding is so far off I am not getting the greatest responses. Does anyone know which locations are available for ceremony or cockatail hour and have pictures. I did see pictures from those of you that posted ( weddings look beautiful ). From the pictures I cant tell the difference between pool deck and terrace. I reserved the Ultimate Package but based some of the posts I really would like to have an outside photographer/DJ- anyone know when I need to to start requesting quotes or even where to begin finding these people?? Also, for those of you that had your wedding or have been to DRC is gazebo location private? Right now I selected that area for the wedding but some of pictures posted for beach looked amazing. Thanks so much!
