  1. Love 'em love 'em! They look so gooood! quote name="FutureMrsHammer" url="/t/66759/moon-palace-2012-brides/2410#post_1694841"] So a week from Monday I am having some of my bridesmaids over to help put together the invites since it is very involved!! But I decided to make one start to finish (minus the stamp/address label) so that everyone could see what the finished product will look like. I took some pictures with my iPhone so here they are... (I made "postcards" with information about the resort credit because when I started making the invites I wasn't sure if it was going to be extended or not so I did not put the info about it in the passport and then when I found out they were extending it, I didn't have any room inside the passport so I decided just to add it separately...it may give the people that are undecided about coming the added incentive to come!!)
  2. We are doing a legal ceremony here first. I didn't want anyone to know, but FI opened up his big mouth and told my older sister (whom is also my BFF) and she was pretty mad that I didn't "think" to ask her to be there to witness it, which is funny, because she didn't care that we are doing the legal stuff here first, she just wants to be there.... So, now we have a witness, I guess. But it's all personal preference....I just always want our Mexico wedding to be our anniversary. I am not dressing up or anything. Going to keep it as simple as possible! We will probably do it the week before we leave.
  3. hahaha! this is becoming comical! I sent 2 e-mails with tons-o-questions to Janina and she sent me answers to a couple, and supposedly sent the rest on, but she REFUSES to give up an e-mail address for the wedding dept. at the MP!!! I have NO idea how you girls got it out of your Miami coordinator, but Janina is NOT budging for me AT ALL!!!! I am really not mad, I have been waiting to use the emoticon hitting it's head against the wall for awhile now, seemed appropriate.
  4. I just happened to come across this thread and it's your wedding day!!! HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!!
  5. NO problem! When I first started looking into doing them, I was sooooo lost trying to figure it out! They are definitely pretty pretty!!! and thank you!!! Thank you! You actually have to have 150 or more posts to be able to open up attachments. But if you want to PM me your e-mail address, I could send them to you that way! Thank you!!! I seriously couldn't believe how sore even my fingers were! But it was soooo worth it! My guests have never seen anything like them. So even though they aren't the most spectacular (like some I have seen on here), my guests are none the wiser!
  6. AWWWW, I just received a cute FB post from a friend.... Makes me smile!!! "Im obsessed with your wedding invitation! Best one I've ever seen!!!!"
  7. Hi ladies!!! Sorry for all the posts, I guess I didn't feel like reading everything first before I started replying! I got some feedback on our invites, and from what I have heard, peeps are liking them, even thinking they were professionally done! WOOT!!! If they only knew mine fail in comparison of some other invites, but what they don't know, HELPS ME!!!! HA!!!

  9. Hahaha! Coco, you crack me up! quote name="coconoir1908" url="/t/66759/moon-palace-2012-brides/2380#post_1694408"] Hmmmm I recall that at about 9ish this morning, that I said after a few projects I would be done. Well, in that very same hour I added (although small) 2-3 more.. Damn, Damn, Damn... if I didn't have extra paper I know that I would not try and figure out what to do with it. OH well

  12. Sorry!!! I DID NOT PROOFREAD THIS before I posted. Please disregard the many mispelled and mis-used words, I.E. "Where" as opposed to were, "uses" instead of used. But I am sure we can all relate to trying to get stuff done quickly!
  13. So, it is true what they say. These suckers where definitely a labor of love. My fingers, hands and forearms are still hurting. But they were well worth it! First I will go over what I bought: Pearlescent Metallic card stock from paperandmore.com 200 sheets of Pearl White 100 sheets of Pink Azalea 100 Pink Azalea #10 Envelopes 100 Orange Flame A4 Envelopes Items purchase at Michaels Fiskars cutting board Perforator Fiskars scoring attachment small scissors Brads Purchased a spool of raffia from giftsintl.com I started with some templates that were given to me by a fellow BDW bride!!! THANK YOU COCO!!! and I played around with it to get the fonts, style, etc...I wanted. I also found wording for the 5 passes from a lot of girls on this site as well. After I finished the computer work, I printed out the passes on the Pearl white paper, then the printed out the ticket jacket on the Pink Azalea paper. You would think printing them out would have been the easy part. They were extremely difficult, even setting the printer to card stock, or thick paper, etc.... If you print them out yourself, definitely leave yourself some time! We chose to print them off at FI's work, so beggars can't be choosers, at least we didn't have to pay for Kinkos to do it. Then came time to utilize my Michaels purchases. The Fiskars cutting board is a god send. Works great. I had 2 pages. the 1st page had 2 of the passes and the 2nd page had 3 passes on it. This did also take a long time to cut out each pass. Once they were cut and separated into their appropriate piles 1-5. My sister and I used small scissors to round the all corners. This also took so much time, one pile of 80 passes one by one. That means we rounded and cut 400 passes. Not sure how to phrase this part, but we even had to hand cut where you make a triangle (so to speak) between the dotted line and the rest of the pass. I then had to take the #5 pass, the RSVP pile and perforate both sides of the pass (there are dotted lines at each end of the pass) so our guests can tear it off and put them in the A4 envelopes to RSVP When they were all cut and rounded we put all the passes together and used a 1/4" hole punch (which my sister already had) and punched a hole at the top left hand corner. Then placed the brad in to secure all 5 pages. For the ticket jacket. I used a template from this site as well. I had to hand cut the corner once it was printed. Since the Pink Azalea paper is even thicker than the white, I had to buy a scorer that can be used with the fiskars cutting board to fold the ticket jackets. There is NO way I could have folded them by hand without them looking like a 5 yr. old folded them. I didn't glue the jacket, I just couldn't get it work for me and fit the boarding passes. After I finished the jackets, I inserted the passes and wrapped Raffia around the outside of the jacket. Lastly put the entire pass into the #10 envelope along with the RSVP envelope. I know this is so hard to try to explain over a computer, but you ladies have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me! With out further adieu here are my boarding pass invites: Products uses the 5 pages together Ticket jacket w/passes inside Jacket wrapped with Raffia Envelopes Everything is the envelope. Here my actual templates. Thanks to you ladies for all the inspiration!!! Jamie's boarding pass-001.docx Jamie's boarding pass-0001.docx BoardingPassTicketJacketTemplate-1.pptx
  14. Hi ladies! So my invitations are now at the post office! Most of our guests should get them tomorrow since most are in CO. So excited!!!! Now let's just hope we can get some more people to book! I also got my trash the dress in. It's all right. It's a knock off. But my problem with it is, there is sequins all over the bust....I need to try it on to decide how I feel about it. But I am hoping that is I hate the way it looks that a seamstress can take it all off! I know it's a cheap dress, but the sequins makes it look even cheaper. We shall see. I will try it on later and have FI take a pic and you guys can decide if it's ok???? However, I am excited it came in so quickly! WOOT! Another thing off my list! I still haven't heard from the MP directly, despite my attempt to send a lengthy e-mail with 20 + questions. So, I will try try again. I am only really worried about my ceremony location. We probably aren't having a ton of people at our wedding/reception, so I think we will be ok waiting to decide on that..... Not sure what these few weeks have brought, some good and some bad. My grandfather (who is 92) fell and broke his femur on Saturday. YIKES!!!! He had surgery on it last night and is doing ok. Thank god! He is a tough man and isn't your typical 92 yr old. He was fly fishing all summer, plays golf, still drives, most importantly his mind is still so sharp! I just hope he still can get around and heal properly! May be going out to Palm Springs soon to visit....My grandmother must be a mess! There's my update. Hope everyone's planning is going smoothly and hope that everyone is having a good time!!! HUGS!!!!

  16. Welcome back krsmith! I love that you shared what you have been up to!!! YAY for new ta tas!!!! That must be very exciting!!!!
  17. Thanks guys!!! My FI is so impressed, but if he saw what most of you ladies can do, he wouldn't be! HA! But all that matters is that my invited guests have no idea what's coming, nor have any of them seen anything like these..
