I'm with jello, When I travel I bring all that stuff, but I did see a really cool thing recently. They had a deck of cards and a welcome booklet and in the booklet the had instructions for different card games, some multiplayer and some 2 player. I am going to send their tickets out to the with the welcome booklet and cards so I don't have to lug it all there. The other thing I wonder about is that I deal with group vacations a lot in my line of work and if you get the bags delivered, what about the people who insist on changing rooms? Plus how do you know if someone didn't get theirs, surely they won't come to you and tell you because they didnt even know about it, they might just be a bit hurt. I know this happens as I've escorted groups and tried getting things delivered, it never goes perfectly. The best way is to hand them out yourself at a cocktail party, or dinner. That being said, I love the idea of snacks because there can ever be enough snacks in the room Just my 2 cents L

Hi Edmontonbride I am not getting married until Dec but I bringing 2 photographers to my wedding. They just have to enter as tourists, (not enter for business). And bring a reasonable amount of equipment ( not big lighting things an only a few camera's/lenses each) And it will be fine. On another note, Car rentals should be fine as well but be careful because there are all types of "vehicles" on the highways including horse carriages! Can you share your photos when you get back? We are going to do TTD photos after the wedding, so I am looking for cool places To go...what is mazanta's? Can't wait to hear from you! Laurie

Mine is hard to describe but it's kinda turning into a bright balloon theme! I wanted hanging lanterns but later found I can't have them at my resort because they have nowhere to hang them, so I decided to go with balloons. The big round balloons! My fiancé and GM are wearing converse sneakers, Bridesmaids will have flowers to match, and we'll use the balloons at the ceremony and reception and probably pictures too

Hey, I have dealt with a lot of resorts for different weddings in my business and it IS normal for the reception to end around 10:30-11 because you are in the resort they have to keep noise down for other guests. Usually you can then move to the disco and continue the party there. You'll have to ask the WC what late night options there are for you, sometimes indoor rooms can be rented later because it doesn't disturb the peace!

Yeah I bought the template..I don't have enough posts to download stuff on here, so I figured why not, it's only $10 Anyways...now I'm running into issues trying to type over the background I selected...I am really not computer saavy enough for this... grrr. Also each time I try and get my Fiance to help me with something we fight about them, so I'm starting to think I should just buy the damn things, and forget this...It's not worth the constant battle, and people are just going to chuck them in a few weeks anyway. If I can't get a sample done this weekend, then I'm buying some instead. lol! Wish me luck! BTW- I like the resort map idea, I am going to try that and see how it looks. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you Erin, I have already purchased a template from AyleeBits. http://www.ayleebits.com/templates.htm#invitation Here is the link, it's $10 and has the option to add as many pages as you want. Now I'm slowly filling in the pages bit by bit! My Fiance is no help..he wants to just buy invitations, but I am not impressed with the quality of the purchased passport invitations. I am at a loss for what I should be putting on 1 extra page and don't want a blank one. I already have: Passport page, with a pic of us, and some fun info Invitation page with the formal part...Laurie and Josh together with their parents...blah blah blah Booking/resort info page Now I need to fill the 4th page, I am thinking something like: Spanish Phrases Packing list Laurie and Josh Trivia... Any idea's ladies?? Let me know if you have questions Erin..I am going to be getting my pages printed at Staples (in Canada its the same as Office Max I think).

Hey, From what I know, you shouldconfirmthe date and the group plan all at the same time. I actually confirmed my date first, the a few weeks later the trip but I was 14 months out so it wasn't a panic. You could shop around for wedding specialists because that sounds strict. Good luck! L

Our save the dates were very simple, no real extra words there. So on the STD it linked to the website and in our welcome letter we wrote: Our save the dates have two intentions, one, to advise you on when and where our wedding will take place, and two so we can find out who will be joining us. We understand time and money will be deciding factors, and while we would love to have you all there, are completely understanding if you cannot attend. Please RSVP with a yes, no or maybe, and we will be sending formal invitations as well as more information to those who RSVP yes, or maybe. So far I haven't had anyone with negative feedback at all, so I think it went over ok! L

I'm going through the exact same thing! I want to do the passport style invitations, but I can't decide if I should try doing it myself and risk messing it up, or just get a professional to do them. I would answer the poll, but at this point I really don't know what is the better priced way to go! (I have heard from friends though, that DIY costs more especially if you arent' someone who does that normally because you need to buy all the supplies (stamps, Cutouts, INK, paper, Glue etc, etc) and it add's up! I'm gonna watch and see what the experienced brides have to say about this!! L

Hi Bailey, Yikes, that's disappointing about out your close friends not being able to go, but if you've spoken to the most important few and they are ok with it then I would just do it! The other 40 STD's you sent probably weren't going to cause people to book anyway. I would just call people, email them or spread by word of mouth that it'll just be the two of you instead of a big thing. Good luck! Laurie

Hey mcree!! Thanks for the welcome! I guess I'm at about the same spot as you, I've got the booking in place and 42 ppl booked so far. Sent out std in Dec and now I'm about to order the invitations and send those. I've hired the photographers, decided on decor but still need to order it, decided on BM dresses but need to order, And bought my dress too!! My big decisions are done I just need to do some ordering and DIY projects and then I'm ready!! 9 months from today I will marry my love One thing that's a bit on the annoying side is I sent my STD a year prior and just found out some of my family don't know if they are even invited. ....really??? You got a STD with your name on it!! Not to mention 42 ppl figured it out and have booked already! If I were to have a do over I would skip STD and just do invites earlier
