  2. Hmmm, we didn't get our disc back yet with our photos, but they are uploaded on Pictage, if you want to try and find a photo of the huppa: http://www.pictage.com/1264495 I'm sorry to say I have no idea its measurements! That was the only thing in terms of decor that we ordered from Tai Floral. We did not use the huppa Tai Floral originally quoted me. For a "huppa draped in white with crystals and orchids" it was something like $300, but I said I was going to use the resort huppa included in the wedding package, which magically changed the price to $100. So maybe you can ask the WC the dimensions of the resort's huppa? Hope this helps a bit!
  3. Yes, they do charge a fee. Originally, I told the coordinator there I wanted to shoot photos at both the aqueducts and the manor, and she quoted me $250 for a typical 2 hour time slot. This includes one golf cart with a driver. When I went to confirm, they said $500 for both locations. I forwarded the email where I was quoted $250, and they adjusted the price. So it may be $500, but I only paid the $250. It seems as though they are negotiable, especially if they do not have a wedding at either site on your date. We had to get an extra golf cart because we decided to bring the videographer, so that was an extra $10. Long story short, I paid $260 for a 2 hour time slot. The first person I contacted was the wedding department. The coordinator then put me in touch with Robert Ames, who I believe runs the golf course/pro shop. This is where you arrive to get your cart and driver.
  4. Thanks! Rose Hall Manor is about 10-15 minutes from the Suites. We just walked out the front doors of the hotel, and they get you a taxi. The taxi stayed at Rose Hall while we took photographs. I think that cost about $30. You do have to reserve time and a golf cart w/ driver to take photos there. Here's the website: http://rosehall.com/ I was in contact with a man named Robert Ames. We had planned on shooting at both the Manor and the aqueducts, which are also on that property, but we ended up running a bit behind schedule and only had 1 hour instead of 2, so we skipped the aqueducts. In the end, I was fine with that, because we went mid-day, and it was very hot and sunny! I don't think we would've lasted for 2 hours taking photos in the sun.
  5. Hi everyone! We were married at the Suites on July 19th, 2012. It was so wonderful! I'll share a few details and the link to our highlight video. I start back teaching this week, so don't have time to write a full review, but feel free to PM me any questions! All in all, it was perfect! Nicole and Tiffany REALLY know what they're doing! I was also getting frustrated with late responses, but I just typed out everything I wanted, and they followed it to the letter, and it was better than I ever expected! Video link: 70 guests Tuesday- Welcome party on the beach with 2 hours of bonfire and national bar and mento band (loved it!- They set everything up nicely and people commented that they felt like they were in a movie!) Wednesday- Nicole ran a rehearsal, then we had dinner at Calabash- delicious! Thursday- Wedding day: The groom and I went with our photographers to the Rose Hall Manor for one hour of photos. This was HOT, but we love the photos. Ceremony was at 5:30 on the beach- weather was very nice 6-7: Cocktail hour with open bar and Steel Pans Band on the beach- soooo worth it! This may have been my favorite part of the day 7-11: Private Reception at Aunt Ruby's- this was also HOT, but I didn't want to be indoors when all the Chicagoans came for the ocean! People would just step outside to catch a breeze, and the paper fans we passed out at the ceremony also helped. DJ Kevan was awesome- I sent him some song ideas ahead of time, and he played them all. We paid him extra to play until 11, which Nicole allowed. It was the perfect amount of time, actually. I was really worried that 11 was an early ending, but some of us went on to the disco, but most people ended up crashing. Hair- Mervina at the salon was great! All my bridesmaids had their hair done at the salon, and everyone was very happy! Make-up- We brought a Chicago area MUA with us. She did 12 girls, and the make-up stayed in the heat. She is great and available for travel: http://www.deannaraeartistry.com/ Photo & Video- We brought down Chicago photographer and videographer Heather Stone and her assistant, Kai. They were amazing and captured 3 days of dinners, pool time, and of course wedding day. They are also available for travel: http://heatherstonephotography.com/ Flowers- We used Tai Floral. I wanted simple flowers, so we had only a draping of crystals with orchids on the back of the provided huppa. That was it in terms of ceremony decor. We got engaged in Madrid, Spain, so I wanted to bring some "Spanish" element into the day, so the bridesmaids carried Spanish fans and Tai Floral tied on some small flowers to the fans. I was also very happy with my bouquet! For the reception, we brought our own lanterns, paper flowers made from our favorite books (we are both English teachers!) in vases with votives for the centerpieces, and bookmarks for seating assignments. We did not get anything from Tai Floral for the reception. Best of luck to all the other brides! You will LOVE it there, and you will have a dream wedding!
  6. Just wanted to put it out there that we have 5 months to go until our wedding at the Suites, and our travel agent informed us last month that all the Standard Suites are booked (at least through FunJet, the company she works with), and guests can only book the Ocean View or Ocean Front. Guests that have waited until now are either booking online on their own and not recieving our group discount, or paying for the more expensive rooms. She also indicated that this was a sign that everything will sell out early. I was very surprised on how quickly the Standard Suites seemed to fill up, so I just wanted to share
  7. Pintsize, did you run into any complications at IBRHS with your off site ceremony? I confirmed my wedding date for July 19th, 2012, with Nicole last week, but now she is telling me that she cannot reserve the date if we have the ceremony elsewhere! We are dying to do the ceremony at the Aqueducts with Tropical Weddings Jamaica. If we don't secure our date at IBRHS, I'm worried with a group of 50+ the reception venue we want will be unavailable due to another wedding (since July 19th was the ONLY date left in July 2012!). Has anyone else had this problem or have any advice? Thanks! p.s. Beautiful photos, Pintsize!
