  1. I initially was only going to do the sand ceremony. We are also going to incorporate FI's children into the sand ceremony. I also love the idea of the hand ceremony, it is really sweet.
  2. Every time I think about the "nervous" factor, I wonder why I scheduled my wedding for 11am in the morning. Lol I plan to just get, have some breakfast, and just go with the flow of the day. Even after all of the planning, if something goes wrong or doesn't go as planned, your guests won't really know it so try not to stress too much about. I guess a good thing about having my wedding so early is that I don't really have that much time to be nervous!
  3. I think that's a cute idea. The idea of flowers or either a flower wand both sound nice. I am having a very small wedding party as well. One of my sisters will be my maid of honor and the other one will be my matron of honor. My FI's 16 year old son will be his best man. He was trying to find a way to incorporate his 23 year old daughter in the wedding and he says he wants her to be his "best woman." I like the idea because we definitely want to incude her, but I am still trying to decide if we will actually call her the "best woman" (because that would be ME on that day...lol) or if we will list her as a "maid of honor" and she will stand beside hom and his son.
  4. Anudrm, You have been on the ball! The menu, the program, the flowers, escort cards....all are amazing! Everything looks like it was purchased from a stationary shop. I was going to say the same as Janet said about the stems for your flowers. You could add a few stems. If you have some silver organza ribbon to wrap it with that would be pretty......(but I am sure you already have EVERYTHING) already laid out to finish all of that. Lol Loving everything....keep the pictures coming!
  5. I hop your wedding was everything you wanted it to be! Your planning thread was one of the first threads I read and followed when I joined the forum. Congrats and hurry and bring the pics! (we'll settle for any pics until you get your pro pics!) 2012mrstobe
  6. Thank you so much for your response! My wedding is a while away but I am gathering things and trying to get everything lined up. I already ordered the holders for the key cards from the seller and I should be getting them any day now. Thanks again!
  7. The pictures are absolutely beautiful....loved the colors! Your photographer took some great shots. Congratulations!! (thanks again for sending me the templates a few weeks ago!)
  8. Can someone tell me if the products for the luggage tags are the same products that can be used for key holders? I found the tags (vertical ones) on eBay (seller is gcishoponline) for the key holders and they have the resealable thingy on it to keep your cash in as well. The same seller has some that don't have the closure on it and I was wondering if they could be used for the luggage tags. Has anyone purchased them and used the same ones for both purposes? Thanks in advance!
  9. Oops! I thought I was quoting The post about the Henkaa dresses. That's what my entire post was referring to.
  10. I am so happy to have found this link! I have a maid and matron of honor only and they are both my sisters. I initially told the older of the two that I would send her the shade of the dress and I would leave it up to her to find fabulous dresses that they both liked and could wear again. She kept telling me she wished she was a designer because she could picture the dress in her head but couldn't really describe it. After I saw this link and fell in love with this dress, I sent her the link. She loved it! I plan to order one for myself to wear later on that evening. I know I would like the ivory one but I am beginning to think I want another one in color!! I ordered swatches and can't wait to get them in.
  11. I love your story and you are going to have to spill it on your DIY projects; they are amazing!
  12. Everything looks great! You have done quite a bit of planning and you still have a ways to your big day. Once everything is all planned and you still have so much time before your big day, what else do you do work on? (I ask because I have done quite a bit of planning also, and aside from just waiting until the big day, i don't know what else to do! Lol) Congratulations and happy planning!!
  13. MichCraw, Thanks! But I have to give the credit for the brochure to MRS. cupcake1382 (she is married now! LOL) She sent the template and it was so well planned that I really only had to put our names and wedding date in it.
  14. Charitydawn, I would have to say that using Vistaprint is much better than using your own printer because at the rate you will be buying ink for your printer, you may as well have just paid Vistaprint the shipping and handling. To be able to get the full bleed on those vibrant colors like that is a lot of ink. I would much rather let Vistaprint use theirs than me going back and forth to OfficeMax to buy multiple ink cartridges. Now there are smaller projects that will probably be better suited for your home printer but anything that involves a lot of text and color, I would leave it to the pros.
  15. I agree with signing up for Groupon; they have specials all the time for Mixbook as well as Photobook. (also be on the lookout for a great deal on their canvas wrapped pictures!) In the past I have purchased a photo book for my sisters bridal shower that had pics of her from birth to her adult years, pics of her then fiancé from birth to adult years and then the last section had pics of them together as a couple. It was really easy to do and they have so many layouts. Oh I forgot to mention that Living Social also sends out really good coupons too so be sure to sign up for them as well.
  16. Thanks! I plan to continue to use vistaprint well after this wedding. I just started a business earlier this year and had been using Overnight prints for my marketing material but I will definitely be using vistaprint to save some money from now on!
  17. Go to vistaprint-goddess.weekly.com/Index.html This is the website i was referring to where the bride has all these great links. Go to the link that says "sample email". When you get to that page, you will also see a separate link that will lead you to free t-shirts as well as long sleeve shirts. I hope that helps!!
  18. Front of magnet (I uploaded a picture from the net) Front of postcard (and I attached the return address label to it). I uploaded the pic for the postcard from the net but I found the pic for the return label among the vistaprint images. Back of the postcard....(the wording is nothing unique....I copied the format from another bride here). Outside of brochure....(someone from here was kind enough to send me her template). I may change the background to match my color scheme though. I didn't know vistaprint had some backgrounds where you could change the colors. Then again I just may leave it because I think it matches the Jamaica tourism booklets a little.
  19. Regarding the shirts.....there is a link I bookmarked on my iPad where someone created a website on how to get literally everything you want/need for your wedding for free from vistaprint. She has links to all the free things and she even has a link to a free long sleeve t-shirt as well. (when I get back on the iPad, I will post that link) I'm going back to my original post to see if I can post my pics now.
  20. Yayyyy! I will get those pics posted soon! I did order the totes from vistaprint, however, after purchasing the first two totes, I found another pattern on vistaprint that I liked much better so I started ordering the totes with that particular pattern on them. For my two attendants, I made sure the logo on their tote coincided with the stationary I purchased for them. I consider myself to be a verrrry discerning customer and can be a bit picky at times so I was almost expecting myself not to really like these totes but it turns out that they will work just fine for what I need them for. I really think your guests will just be surprised that you thought enough at all to include things in the bag that they can actually use on their trip; they may not even scrutinize the bag that closely...lol I'll be back with those pictures.
  21. I have to first start by saying thanks to all you ladies for being sooo helpful! My wedding isn't until next year but I will be off from my job for the next 6 weeks and wanted to get as much as possible done! I have to admit that I was skeptical at first about the quality of the products but after seeing the pics of everyone's things and hearing the feedback, I figure......"thousands of brides can't be wrong, can they?" Also, if you order their "wedding Sample Kit" it arrives to you pretty quickly and you will get a sample of everything and you can judge the quality for yourself. The kit is free. I don't think I can post pictures because I don't have enough posts (someone let me know if it is different) yet but here is what I received in my first batch of things: 30 STD magnets - my colors are red, orange, and yellow (sunset colors) so I uploaded a picture of a beautiful sunset , and included our pics on it to make the STD. 100 postcards - I uploaded yet another picture of a sunset. It really just looks the same sunset from a different angle. On the front of the card I put "SEE YOU IN PARADISE!" On the back of the card I put the wedding location, all the booking information, a tentative itinerary, as well as our wedding website and the site of the resort. My wedding will be immediate family only and because I know my family, I felt the need to put as much information early on as possible. I used yet another sunset picture (it was already included in vistaprint's patterns) for my return labels. My parents were here this weekend to assist after my surgery and my FI asked my dad for my hand in marriage! I already ordered the pre-travel brochures as well. I have started ordering bags on separates orders and I have been ordering hats as well. (each male will have a hat in their bag whereas each female guest will have a sarong, among other things). The bags are of really good quality. I have also ordered personalized stationary for both my maid and matron of honor. They are both my younger sisters and I chose the themes based on their likes. (personalized pen, sticky notes, note cards and note pads). I initially wasn't going to order invitations since my STD package included everything but I saw a pattern vistaprint had that mimicked my wedding colors perfectly! So far the first few things have come in already and I am more than pleased with everything. If I am able to post pictures of these things I will gladly do so.....(can anyone tell me where to look to see if I can?)
  22. You are absolutely right! This is my day and darn it, it's not supposed to be this stressful. I am off to find cute sandals or flipnflops for everyone and I think I will get some beautiful barefoot sandals for myself (in my wedding colors) for my photos and I will get my sisters anklets as part of their wedding jewelry (along with earrings and necklaces). Thanks for your input.
  23. JayKay, that's my dilemma exactly. Didn't want the hassle of having to change footwear. I may go with the flip flop/sandal option as well and I will just have to find some really cute ones for myself and my sisters. I suppose since I was so fixated on having something on our feet while taking pictures in the sand, I may buy them anklets along with the rest of their wedding jewelry.
