I have been corresponding with Amalia from Shades of Pale for the past 5 months. I had initially sent her a mock up of another dress iI wanted and she was very responsive to my million emails, answering them within 24 hours. ( I had pictures of 3 different dresses and I went into.great detail witghtext boxes, arrows, etc. explaining what I wanted). I have since changed my mind and yet again I sent her a completely different mock up (I'm sure this the one!). She asks several questions and she always repeats the information back to me in her correspondence to insure clarity. Here is the dress I will be ordering: The first three pics are of the top of the dress (I will have a hook and eye closure on the neck strap instead of having it hang down my back). The fourth pic is how the bottom of the dress will look. It will start further below my knees (mermaid style) and the pleats will alternate with the same tulle in the bodice and the stretch satin in the top part of the skirt. She told me it would take 6 weeks to make. I would really like to find a short reception dress for them to make also since she told me that there is a discount for ordering 2 dresses.

Hi Ladies, So I started planning for my August 2012 wedding a few months ago and I have gotten a wealth of information from the site. I have written notes everywhere so that when the time comes to start ordering things, I can go back and reference my notes. I want to include sarongs in my welcome bags for the ladies. I have a website, www.turtleislandimports.com, that I have looked at for sarongs, but I feel certain that I have wrtitten a few more websites down somewhere else but just can't find them. Do you ladies have websites that you have used for ordering sarongs at a great price? Thanks in advance! 2012mrstobe

OhhEmmGee!! I want more pics!! You looked absolutely amazing and I know the picture doesn't do the dress enough justice; if it looks this good in a pic, I can only imagine how it looked in person! And for the snafu that with your little girl'sdress, she sure got a heck of a nice replacement dress! She looked too cute. O.k. gather all your thoughts (and pictures) and all the ladies will be waiting patiently with baited breath fornyou to get back to us and spill it all! ...........and we are waiting! -

I hope you feel better but I just have to pop my head in and comment on a few things. The wedding jewelry - just perfect!! (don't you love it when a plan comes together!?!?) The personalized glasses are absolutely amazing; your guests are gonna love them! And the cd cases? Nothing else left to say. It looks just as good as everything else. Glad everything is done.....now the REAL countdown begins! -

How did I miss this? These are absolutely beautiful! I think I may have have seen the title of the thread and was thinking I had read it already, getting it confused with the pre-travel brochures thinking that's what the thread was. Oh well......now you have given me more things to think about and add to my list!

Do you mind sharing how you're doing your evelopes ("Tears of Joy")? That sounds really cute! -
I was thinking of beach theme picture frames but I haven't been able to find any reasonably priced one. Also, keeping in mind that I am trying to get enough photographs of my guests to fill the book up, I have to come up with some really good scavenger categories.....Hmmmm, one more thing to think about!

I started working on a list but will definitely incorporate some of the shots you ladies are suggesting. I saw the idea here about other website about a vey unique type of thank you to give to your guests where you actually send them a "thank you photo book" of the wedding week. You ask them for all the pics they took but don't tell them why you're asking ( this is where creativity in the types of shots you are including in your scavenger hunt comes in). Your thank you book includes very few pics of you and the groom but you just make it all about your guests. It will be a great keepsake and your guests definitely won't be expecting it. You can get the books at mypublisher.com and they always run promotions where you can buy one get one free. Their "pocketbook" size is 5.75 x 7.75 and runs 9.99. If you buy it during one of their specials, you are getting each book for only $5.00! Here is the link that explains the "thank you" photo book. http://www.destination-wedding-guide.com/wedding-photo-thank-you-cards.html My wedding party will be pretty small and I plan on putting a disposable cameras in each of the welcome bags with the instructions (and categories) for the scavenger hunt. I will ask my guests to upload the pictures to a photoshare site but I am trying to figure how to determine the winner of the scavenger hunt. ( as I have a very competitive group!) Any suggestions?

I will be 42 when I get married next year and this will be wedding #2 for both of us as well. My concern wasn't really whether I should wear white or ivory because it was my second wedding but rather to where white or ivory because my FI will be wearing all white linen and I wanted to wear a white dress to match him but just hope the white looks good against my skin. What I didn't want to happen was to have the ivory look better sgsinst my skin and then my ivory dress look pale against his white. I haven't gone dress shopping yet so I don't which color I will ultimatey end up wearing.

I ordered a couple of parasols today from lunabazaar so I could get a good idea of the true colors. I like them! I plan to line the aisles with them and then we will use them for pictures later on. They look really sturdy and are a really good buy. They also have quite a few colors too.

My 2 bonus children (FI's children) will be participating in the sand ceremony with us. Has anyone come across a kit for families? If so, I would appreciate if you could post a link. Thanks in advance! 2012mrstobe
