  1. Thanks CandyApple13; I sure hope so. I guess I could have posted this dress. (just thought about it as I started to gather things today and start packing) Since our wedding is at 11am in the morning, once it is over, we will be having a mini-cocktail reception from 12-1:30pm. Of course I won't e wearing my wedding dress to dinner later that night but I still wanted to wear white so I also purchased this dress from Venus.com.
  2. This is the dress that I hope Jasmine's can pull off for me. After going back and forth with them nearly every day for 2 weeks (even after I placed my order), I feel kind of lost not getting an email from them and having to wait on my dress on August 9th. But I really don't mind the going back and forth because at least I know they are trying to be sure of every little detail. I still haven't heard anything more from Shades of Pale (this was after 2 weeks ago when I responded to them that after 4 months of waiting for a dress I had made alternate plans.......she responded back and told me they would be finished with the dress the next day and would send pictures. I am guessing the next day never came because I still don't have pictures)
  3. CandyApple13, I was thinking the same thing. Although we are having an "All White" Rehearsal Dinner the night before (we will be inviting all our guests), my fiance and I will be showing up in all black! I want to savor my "All White" look for my wedding. Here is the dress and shoes I will be wearing.
  4. MsCherryCoke, Thanks for your well wishes, but I won't be holding my breath on that one! I had a plan B in place and I went with that.
  5. I have to second the Sedu! I purchased on a couple of years ago (now that I am thinking about it, I purchased it from Folica!!) and it has been a very good investment! Gets your hair silky straight.
  6. I spoke to Amalia from August 2011 (the time I got engaged) until December. (I went back and forth a few times on the design of the dress). I figured by ordering it in February I would (1) beat the wedding rush season, and (2) give them 7 whole months to get the dress done and to be able to allot for any mishaps. Prior to ordering, I read only good things about them here on the board, which influenced my decision to go with them. I also saw great examples of their work here and on their FB page. Plus they also gave me a great deal. I think it is just over the past few months that there have been some production problems. Several dissatisfied customers have posted on their Facebook page and have had their posts deleted.(It was mainly them just asking over and over about their dresses and getting no answer). I'm not saying don't go with them, I am just saying that I still haven't gotten my dress that I ordered in February for my wedding to be held in August. (there was one bride that got her dress AFTER she came back from her honeymoon :-(
  7. I thought I was quoting your post but I am speaking of my experience with Shades Of Pale.
  8. I wouldn't do it if I were you. I have had nothing but a horrible experience with them and I still have no dress. I started communicating with Amalia in August 2011 about a dress. After going back and forth for about a month (communication was absolutely great and she understood everything and explained it all back to me very well). I told her I would order it in February 2012 and she suggested that was a good time to order because I would beat the busy wedding season. (my wedding is 8/31/2012) I ordered the dress on February 15th and was told it would be 6-8 weeks before I received it. I sent an email about mid point asking about the progress of the dress and if there were pictures for me to see. No answer. At the 4 week mark, I was still sending emails and finally someone answered and told me I would receive my dress between April 5th and April 12th. I asked them about pictures and whether I would see pictures. No response. April 5th and 12th came and went. Still nothing from no one. At this point I am emailing everyday. Finally in mid May I get an email from Grace telling me that Amalia is on maternity leave. I explained my frustration to her and told her that I needed the dress by June 1st so I could send pictures to the person making the cake topper. She assured me (even exchanged 5 different emails with me that day) that I would have pictures by the end of the week. Of course the end of the week came and nothing. June 1st came and nothing. At this point I am sending emails every day simply asking if I need to get a Plan B because I didn't want to be without a dress. In the meantime I start looking elsewhere. I sent the same mock up to Jasmines and got a quote. I made one little change. I sent the change to Shades of Pale on the same day (June 3rd). I received an email from SOP on June 9th apoligizing because they were short of English speaking staff and that's why there has been a lack of communication (I am still trying to wrap my head around why that makes a difference because I thought the person handling all the customer service emails regarding the dresses simply told the seamstresses what needed to be done. I didn't think the seamstress would need to know English to understand my email.....but I am still confused on that). She said they would "take the skirt off and make it like I want it". I responded back and told her there was no need because I had already made plans to get another dress. I told them they didn't need to finish the dress because I wouldn't be paying the remaining balance and I was in the process of opening a dispute through PayPal. I received an email a week later telling me that they don't give refunds and that they would be finished with the dress the very next day so why don't I look at it and just see if I like it. I didn't respond and guess what? The next day has come and gone and I still haven't seen pictures of the dress. All this and I ordered the dress back in February.
  9. If you don't mind me asking, what size shell did you purchase from conchking.com to use for your sand ceremony? I had been looking for the frames so thanks for the recommendation from the etsy seller. FI has 2 children that will be participating in the sand ceremony with us and I think it is a great idea to let them use the glass containers and we use the shells. Everything looks wonderful....can't wait to see pics when you get back!
  10. These are my fabulous passport invitations created by a member here, anudrm. They exceeded anything I expected and my guests are just raving about them!
  11. Ok......I already have bags, but if I could have gotten my hands on the ones like you have, it would have really been nice! Another quick question regarding the newspaper......Did you just tell them to send you "xxxx amount of copies" of an archived issue? What I already have the brochures from the tourist board and I couldn't believe they were willing to send them free of charge and quickly! Thanks again!
