  1. jamieirene, I took a few cues from your itinerary and did some very similar on Vistaprint. (I used VP for a ton of stuff too; had already used their rack cards as door hangers). I will be punching a hole in the corner of the card and hanging it on the outside of the welcome bag.
  2. Knowing that a love of love, blood, sweat and tears went into the bags will make them all that much more special for your guests! Can't wait to see them.
  3. My dress will be shipping tomorrow but I am not in town so the UPS store will receive the package for me. I will return on thursday and iI will be going to my seamstress to try it on then!
  4. I'm glad you were able to hear back from then. I tell you, being on edge about your dress is no good feeling at all!
  5. A parasol or either a single flower would be beautiful. Yes, you can find places where you can buy the parasols for about $7 each. To stay within your budget even more, just skip paying the resort to rent the parasols and buy the parasols instead. (I thought about using parasols for my attendants as well because I wanted to incorporate them in the wedding some kind of way; I will be lining the inside of the aisles with them)
  6. What's funny is that when I first started looking at dresses, I was originally going to get a dress with the bandage bodice and ALL the ruffles on the skirt. I was obsessed with the flouncy ruffled skirts I kept seeing! Once I saw this dress with the sheer bodice, I knew I had to have it, but didn't want the feather skirt like the original. At the same time I thought that a full ruffled skirt would be too much, but I think this provides just the right amount of ruffles, yet not too much. Quote: Originally Posted by rawalter Wow! As soon as it gets here, I am going straight to my seamstress (I will probably even take it there before I take it out of the package!) to try it on so she can make any alterations that may have to be done. I'll be sure to take pics.
  7. You're right! I can't wait. When he sent the last email, it was 2:37am there and he told me he would be putting it in the mail later on that day. Thanks! This is my 2nd wedding so I wanted a little twist from the tradtional; exactly what you described it as - something sexy and fun!
  8. Got my final dress pictures from Jasmine's!!! I am finally feeling a sense of relief now that I have the final pictures from Jasmine's. Looks like the dress will actually be here before they projected! I have spoke to James on the phone a few times over the last few days and I have probably received a million (lol) emails from him but he said he just wanted to make sure I was happy with the end product. (when I got the mid production pictures, I thought there was still something missing but couldn't quite put my finger on it but I knew I was running out of time) The halter strap is detachable; I will wear it for the ceremony but detach it the next day for the TTD pics.
  9. I can see why your guests were lined up at the candy bar! Everything looked so wonderful and so well organized and I love the idea of a brunch as opposed to a formal dinner.
  10. Coconoir Do you recall where you got your stands for your conch shells from? I keep going back to your thread looking at updates and I don't know how the stands for the shells got past me (as if was from your thread that I got the idea for the shells in the first place!) Thanks in advance!
  11. Donna, Thanks; I didn't know you could download Skype.....for some reason I thought you had to subscribe or buy some equipment or something similar to Vonage. At any rate, he gave me a U.S. toll free number to use if I needed to, however he has been constantly emailing me all day though. Yes, I am very pleased with the customer service and can't wait to receive the final product!
  12. Jasmine's Bridal Called Me!!! So I sent Jasmine's my last revisions and I had already mentioned to them about me being on a time crunch because SOP screwed me over. Lisa sent me an email around 1:30am saying that she had gotten the revisions but it would take extra time to do the skirt portion and that they want to make sure I get it on time. I shot her an email back and asked how much extra time.........Fast forward to me getting up at 3:30am because I couldn't sleep. James (I think that's Lisa's husband) sends me an email and asks if he could give me a call. I sent email back giving him phone number and within 30 minutes he called me. We talked on the phone for an entire hour and he went over every possible scenario for the bottom of the dress, telling me what the production time would be and giving me alternatives. I coudln't believe he was being so patient. He said it was important that he called because he saw in the notes that I was on a time crunch and he just wanted to make sure I got my dress exactly the way I wanted it without being too stressed and being confident that I would get a beautiful dress. He informed me of the risk I was running (well not necessarily the "risk") but what the dress would look like if I added "a couple of layers of ruffles" at the bottom as I had indicated. He gave me quite a few options. He told me that while it was 5:30am here in the U.S., it was 5:30pm there and it was at the end of their work day and the workers were going home. He said for me to find pictures of several options of how I wanted the bottom and send them to him. He said he would be sending me an email and consistently checking his email for the pictures. He even said I could give him a call back (which I won't be doing because calling to Jamaica is high enough......can you say "calling to China???? LOL) I told him I was really impressed by the customer service and he said that because time was of the essence he knew he needed to speak to me to make sure the dress was being recreated like I wanted it. He said their dress shop used to be in the United States so they are all about customer service, unlike some Chinese dress shops. He even said he knew about the FB page that someone had set up warning people against Shades of Pale and that they had posted. He says they have worked with a lot of brides that got scammed by Shades of Pale. Now off to find out how I want the bottom of this dress!
  13. I just got "post" mid production pictures of my dress from Jasmines which means they are almost done with it. (I am supposed to have it by August 9th). Although I think it is very close to the replica, I still think there is something missing. It is something in the skirt portion but I can't imagine what it will take to complete the look. I am attaching a picture of the inspiration but I already knew that I wanted a different skirt from the inspiration picture. I initially wanted ruffles for the skirt portion but I didn't want the ruffles to compete with the bodice area of the dress so I just went with tulle. When they sent me mid production pictures last week, I told them I wanted more layers of tulle for the skirt because even at that time the skirt wasn't really "wowing" me. They added more layers but I am still thinking even more. But I do have to keep in mind that I will still have a slip on underneath to lift the layers and give them some volume (can't think of what it's called right now b/c my mind is drawing a blank) Maybe once this is underneath the dress, all will be fine, but I really can't afford to wait to get the dress to see whether that works on not.....I am literally on a time line right now because I know the sooner I have them to make the alterations, the sooner I can get my dress. We are leaving for Jamaica on August 27th and I paid extra to have production completed 2 weeks earlier than normal, so I am supposed to have the dress in hand on August 9th. I really need to let them know aobut any more changes TONIGHT when i email her. Aside from making sure the ruching lies straight and adding beading/sequins to the appliques, any other suggestions? (Another reason why I realized why my tulle skirt may not look as I thought it would is because I am not as tall as the models that I saw with a tulle skirt on their dresses; I am only 5'1" so that's not a lot of skirt) Original Demetrios dress ........what I envisioned my finished dress looking like
