  1. I ordered the raffia fans to put my programs on from there, but be warned that they come in varying sizes. I also ordered the key coils for the lanyards. There were a lot of other things I wanted to order but I kept thinking about all the full suitcases I already have!!!
  2. I am using the bags for our guests in Jamaica and I think they are an excellent bargain. ( went with the initial count of people that confirmed and ultimately ended up getting way too many though!)You can get a shirt, mugs, sarongs, flip flops, first aid kits, etc. I guess what I am trying to say is that you can get a good bit of stuff in there! LOL
  3. Thanks KoralK! I think they did a fantastic job. Have you already placed your order? When is your wedding date?
  4. You're right. When I got home and was looking at the dress a little closer, I realized that they actually did make the straps to snap off. I went back to try it on yesterday and I will just let them adjust the neck strap.
  5. JamieIrene, Glad you posted what kind of pen to use with the book. I have a picture guest book as well and I was unsure if using a regular Sharpie would do the trick or not. I am happy that it went over well!
  6. Thanks! Do you have a ship date for your dress yet? I know you can't wait! I was so excited to have it in my hands and try it on today that I really didn't take the time to see if there was really anything wrong with it. I only noticed things when I looked back at the pictures! (like how I didn't have the crinoline pulled down straight! LOL0
  7. I am thinking you can make the tie out of piece of felt, make the veil out of some tulle and lace but I can't think of what you could do for the hat....Oh yeah, see if you can find some plastic cowboys. You know like the little plastic GI Joe men from way back? I don't know if they still make them but I remember you used could buy the sets with cowboys, farm animals, etc. Try the toy section. I am sure you could find a really small hat.
  8. I was really pleased! I sent her pictures of my FI's outfit, pics of my dress (mid production), pics of his shoes, my shoes, flowers, etc. I also sent her several pictures of his motorcycle. She went on Ebay and found the same make and model of his bike and painted the checkerboard on it just the same as the custom paint job on his bike. When I saw the finished product and she sent me pics to proof it, I told her that I realized that I didn't send her a pic of my earrings and bracelet (both heavily rhinestoned). She responded back "Sorry, I can't do mini-bling.". That statement made me laugh out loud. I told her I understood and she had gotten the detailing on everything else down to a tee that it was no big deal.
  9. No worries soror! I ended up going back to Conch King and ordering that bowl to hold them in. (I really need to stop ogling over your thread though because I find myself with more and more project to start on - just when I thought I was finish! LOL) Thanks again and thanks for being so kind and coming back to the thread to help out!
  10. Thanks! I initially wanted to go with the pashmina idea that I saw here on the site but I knew it would be too hot for that and I am certain that i got the idea for the sarongs from this site as well. As my wedding is less than a month away, I probably should be doing a planning thread, but I don't know if I will have a chance to do so before I leave. I wanted to post a picture of the sarongs all packaged up!
  11. MY JASMINE'S DRESS IS HERE! So as soon as I got home from the airport this afternoon I went straight to the UPS store to pick up my dress. (my seamstress is from China as well; she said she had just done alterations on another bride's dress that had gotten her dress from China) She helpefd me try it on and I took my wedding day shoes with me so I could be sure to see the correct height. I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture of how they bundled it up. They sent a garment bag which folds in half (and you can zip it) and doubles as a regular oversized tote bag (good for transporting stuff on the day of the wedding) but I don't think I will be using it to transport my dress in because the front of it is sheer and you would be able to see my dress, which I don't want FI to see until the wedding day. They also had the crinoline skirt in the bag as well. The seamstress was taking the pictures with my camera and she kept taking the pictures over and over because she kept saying (I keep ending up the pictures!!!) I kept telling her it was inevitable since she had all the mirrors around on the dress stand. Ok I just noticed that the "hoop"/crinoline skirt is crooked and maybe not pulled all the way down. I think I was just so excited to get it after all the drama I had been through with Shades of Pale. I just wanted to get the dress in my hands first and then go from there. I am probably going back on Saturday to have her help me try it on again because I need to see if my little silicone breast thingies will work. It's not as tight as I want it to be in the buttock area but only because I lost about 1/2 inch (not intentionally), but the seamstress said it was perfect. They were supposed to make the halter strap detachable but they didn't. I won't sweat it though. I was worried at first because it was a little loose and then the seamstress showed me how to tighten the corsett to make the strap just right. Overall I am really pleased with it. I think I am going to have it steamed to be sure the folds lay down nicely, but only after I visit the seamstress one more this weekend though. Thanks for looking!
  12. I really wasn't that concerned about a cake topper until I started to look at some of the amazing toppers on here. The Etsy seller that designed it said she had so much fun designing it. My fiance and I love his Harley (well of course he loves it much more than I do!) and I know he will love this. It is going to be a surprise for him. The cool thing about it is that we will be able to display it on our mantle after the wedding. This may actually be my favorite part of the wedding! I think our cake will be a simple 2 tier white cake (square) will some simple designs on it. Don't want to have so many high expectations for the cake and then they aren't able to execute, but here's the topper!
  13. gettinready, Have you heard back from the people at SSJG? As it gets closer to my wedding date, they have been much more responsive, which is doing a little more to calm my nerves! LOL I will be writing a review once I return and if there are questions I can help you with, I will be more than happy to answer.
