Oh that's nice. I don't think I can do that since most people are coming from all over the map...not just from around my area so that might be hard. I think I am gonna keep it simple and get a pack of playing cards with our logo or something on it and then I am in search of beach bag towels....not sure where to get them but we shall see. FI wants to get some t-shirts as well with Cancun, Mexico and then our wedding date so at least they can wear it over and over again.

Has any Canadian bride used or are in works with a Travel Agent from Beach Bum Vacations or Weddings by Oceans? I wanted to hear your reviews. Please and thanks!

I'm thinking of a minimalist design. Lanterns in the middle that I plan to use my crafty skills on with a silhouette of us and maybe a poem. And then maybe some sand, shells and a battery candle light to illuminate it. I'm not really big into flowers. It seems like such a waste of money to me- just my opinion. Looks great but I can't justify paying so much for it. Top it all off I am worried about carrying vases with me. I have to figure out how to weigh the lanterns on the table though, it case it's windy out or something....

Yes this is all helpful. Everyone is doing something different it seems. I want to find out if I can ship it out. We expecting probably 30 to 40 guests....if I had 8 I wouldn't have troube figuring out what to do lol

Haha yup. Shame coz it's such a gorgeous shoe. I am sure there will be replica's for cheaper that will look like that and possibly in a sandal or peeptoe style.

This is what we plan to do. Do the legal ceremony home the same date in 2012 and then the destination wedding will be next year on the same day in 2013 I think everyone knows we have to do it this way. It's way too much to have the big wedding here at home when I can do it for a quarter of the price somewhere else! Just as beautiful and it lasts a whole week rather just for one day

I am not sure about where to have the reception since I don't really know my options at this point. I am thinking not to really bring too much for the decoration piece. Probably just bring my own chair sashes since I found an awesome price from an ebay seller. They can then use it at the reception in a different manner...maybe placing it differently on the chairs? And then have a couple of lanterns on the tables that have a silhouette or a poem or something of that sort to go along with the theme. Maybe some seashells around it with sand? I'm not sure as yet. But keep it simple and low key as possible. I am sure that simple is better. I don't want to stress about cost or how I'm going to bring it over and all that. I'm sure the view will be spectacular enough. Might bring some sparklers for like our first dance or something and then I am going to bring some items to do a make-shift photobooth where people can put their pictures in an album. I dunno.... I guess I am just not too fussy about stuff like flowers and all that...as long as it looks pretty lol!

Congratulations on the engagement! Enjoy it! We too are getting married in April 2013 but we want to have it for the 23rd. I agree with Sarah and narrow it down to what you want. We wanted a place where Number One had to be good food coz we are such foodies. And then we knew where we DID NOT want to go. If you know an estimate of how many people you will have and what kind of a group, you can ask a travel agent for options that would best suit your needs. I am so happy...we finally decided that we are going to have our wedding sooner, rather than later. We were going to have our wedding April 2014...this was not our first choice but there was a lot happening and we had to work around certain things so we thought it best to stick to a later date. Since we are both really eager to get on with our lives as a married couple, and after much debate, we finally put our foot down and decided to just DO IT! I am so excited and happy and I cannot wait to share our happy day together in front of our friends and family! So overjoyed and blessed! Let the planning begin and get ready April 23rd, 2013, coz here we come!!!
