KristaD, I did use the Steel Drum band. We hired them to play at our cocktail reception for 1 hour. The cost was $490 which I know is a lot of money... but it was something important to us and every one of our guests enjoyed the music. So, I think it was worth it! I wasn’t a real fan of the free bouquet although a lot of other brides said they were fine. I wanted specific flowers and colors so I ordered mine from Jan’s. My bouquet was $60 and the BM’s were $45. I guess it depends on the flowers you choose and the size too. I’m not a flower person at all but I loved them. Just wish I could have kept them!

Dollarama sells travel advil or tylenol for $2.00/bottle. You can also buy a package of the chew pepto from shoppers and they are individually wrapped per tablet.

Funny thing...I just got it this morning! I guess ask and you shall receive works well for me! I had the day off so I already had my license and health card updated. No fees, no hassles. I'm so glad we chose to get married in Jamaica!

Past ROR brides! How long did it take you to get your marriage license? I was told 4-6 weeks and I know that's not realistic for Jamaica but it's almost been 2 months and I'm getting a tad anxious! I don't feel like I'm officially married yet...

Love this! We were married on 30 May, 2012 in Ocho Rios Jamaica! I'm getting my professional shots back this weekend so I'll submit once i have the good shots!

I purchased a good selection of my favors over the past few months from Dollarama. In my opinion this is the best dollar store to shop! They have good prices on first aid kits, suntan lotion, aloe, gum, wet wipes, kleenex and especially Advil and Tylenol!

Basically $8/bottle.

To be honest I actually forgot about the per person charge until I was actually paying for everything else and decided not to make a big deal about it since they had done a few favors for me anyways. Oh, I never even looked on Etsy but I'm sure they have some great things too. Originally I was going to do a sticker label that went directly on the bottles but I figured that might be hard especially with the humidity. It wasn’t until a few weeks before we left that I discovered all the label templates at Staples! Michael’s has a ton of things like that too. You’re going to have an amazing time and you’re getting married on my birthday so I know it’ll be perfect! J

Thanks!The rum favors were a huge hit! Just some advice, they are located in Montego Bay and they don’t deliver to Ocho Rios. I had someone meet me at the airport upon arrival. Because it was a Saturday, I felt compelled to give the driver a big tip for his troubles! J The Bob Marley quote was a few different things I pulled together but it was so appropriate. Feel free to use whatever you like! I actually paid for the extra guests but they didn’t charge me for using an offsite florist and they gave us free breakfast in bed so I think it worked out in the end…

No problem, happy to help! I thought Jan’s was perfect. I’d spoken to them many times and still confirmed before I left. The WC’s are used to multiple vendors and Jan’s is the most common one I know of so I think they are used to working together. Just give your WC a copy of the invoice when you meet before to finalize your plans. They will stay on top of everything. The rum favors weren’t an issue at all. I also think these are fairly common for Jamaica weddings these days. If you are hesitant though, might be best to ask your WC in advance just to be sure!
