  1. I am trying to download it but it won't let me... I'll keep trying
  2. Okay ladies I have started a planning thread. It is not completed yet but take a look! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/79242/summer12s-planning-thread-photos
  3. Thanks Krsmith! It's great to hear it all turned out for you!! You were gorgeous!!
  4. Please Stay tuned, I will continue at a later date. Our wedding date is June 10th!
  5. Flower girl-- I let her mom pick out whatever and we will put a sash on it that is the same color as the BM dresses. The ring bearer will be wearing simply khaki pants and a white shirt. Jewelry- I loved the idea of barefoot jewelry the first time I saw them! I made them myself. If you need help figuring out how to make them just ask! These are for the bridesmaids... These are mine.. . And these are the moms'... Bridesmaids and my bracelet (which I also made myself) My earrings and hairpiece I bought from {Red-I}. The earrings I actually found at a bridal store for $100, took a pic, and Chelsea made me these which are close to the same thing for only $20! Together, the two pieces cost $100. Because my dress has so much going on on top I decided to skip the necklace and just do a bigger hair piece. (I hope you don't mind that I used your pictures Chelsea) I HIGHLY recommend chelsea and {Red-I}, not only because of her beautiful jewelry but also because she is so easy to work with and very professional!
  6. His Suit- Another Studio suit success! We love it- the color is Tropical Light Beige Linen and being a bit of a prima donna he loved being able to pick out all the details- how many buttons, ect. The groomsmen will be wearing the same pants and just a white shirt. We got them all dark brown flip flops as wedding favors. Sorry this is the only picture I have... Bridesmaids dresses- I chose to let them all pick out a dress from alfred sung’s collection as long as it was tea length, made from the same material, and the kelley green in color. Website- mattlovesnat.weddingwindow.com A HUGE shout out to the lovely Miss Coco (or maybe when you read this Mrs.!) who I got a lot of the info on the website from. Feel free to copy my info and pay it forward!!http://mattlovesnat.weddingwindow.com STD’s- we sent out this STD/newsletter combo last September after taking early engagement pictures so everyone would have plenty of time to save $$ and plan.
  7. Hello Friends! So in order to "pay it forward" I decided to do a planning thread. I would not have been able to be where I am today without you all- esp you ladies at the Moon Palace 2012 forum. Thank you all so much! I hope you enjoy and feel free to ask questions! The Guy- My lovely groom-to-be grew up in northeastern Oklahoma, graduated from Oklahoma State University, and then moved to East Texas. I grew up in Southwestern Minnesota, graduated from a private college in Duluth, MN, and then moved to East Texas a couple years behind him. Last Easter we went to Playa Del Carmen, MX on a vacation together and that was when we first explored the idea of doing a DW. It seemed like the perfect solution since our loved ones are scattered throughout the continent. That vacation was at "The Royal" in Playa. We would have loved to get married there, but it is adults only and I have a 12 year old sister. I chose Moon Palace because it seemed like it had good wedding options, it was reasonably priced while still having everything we wanted, and it wasn’t adults only. It wasn’t until after choosing Moon that I ran into BDW website and my entire idea of a DW changed. The Engagement- FI and I went to visit my family in MN last summer. Little to my knowledge (although, of course, we women do have intuition...) FI had brought the ring he purchased beforehand and asked my dad’s permission to give it to me. My father and my FI are both wonderful, but they are both men of little words. Here is the way FI explained it to me... FI (pulls out ring)- “Do you like it?†Dad- “Yeah, wow†FI- “Do you think I could give it to Natalie?†Dad- “Sureâ€... “Let me go find her mother†Bahaha. Oh they crack me up. So obviously he was very nervous and acting weird the plane ride home. When we got home I was starting some laundry and it was late. FI said “I think Charlie wants to tell you something.†(Charlie is our little yorkie). I looked down and Charlie had the ring around her neck. He explained that since he asked my dad he just couldn’t wait any longer. Needless to say we were both very sleepy at work the next day!! The Rings- This is not the original ring he gave me, but we both love it! (Some of my fellow MP Brides know the story, I’ll save the rest of you the details). 1 ct center princess cut with 1 ct of smaller stones on both the engagement and wedding bands. Love love! He got a gray tungsten band which is very simple and classly. I’ll save room for other pics- you can see it on my review after the wedding I love that it only cost $200 and was exactly what he wanted. The Dress- My mom, his mom, my sister, and his sister-in-law and I all went shopping last October and after a number of dresses fell in love with this Maggie Sottero- “Adeline†at Lulu’s bridal boutique in Dallas. We added a belt- not present in photo. And obviously I will not be wearing a strapped bra s
  8. Yeah I was thinking 2 might be too late, but I also don't want to sit in a room all day watching time tick by because I'm ready too early... maybe I'll do 1.
  9. Quick question- if I am getting married at 6:00 do you think 2:00 would be a good time for hair/makeup appointments? Or is that too late? I just don't want to get too early and end up messing it up before the wedding
  10. Cangrats Mrs. Arnote!!! Looks like it was beautiful! And to all my April bride friends who will be leaving shortly, have soooo much fun!! Relax and embrace EVERY MOMENT! We have worked hard to finally get to where you are and now don't let it pass by too fast!! I couldn't have made it this far without you all. ALL MY LOVE Though I haven't been posting much lately I have been skimming through the post. I have also read wedding reviews and other post you have all posted. Thank you for everything, it looks like everyone is coming along well!! Maybe I'll post a planning thread soon when I get myself organized LOL
  11. Cangrats and welcome! Check out "moon palace 2012 brides" forum where all of us MP brides are sharing our journey! It's a wonderful forum and I know you will find it helpful! Can't wait to hear more from you!
  12. Does anyone have a list of what excursions we can do with our resort credits? If so please PM me it!! MUCHAS GRACIAS!!
  13. Okay ladies this is the email I just sent Beatriz Beatriz, I appreciate very much you timely responses. I am upset with some of the information that I am now receiving. I was under the impression that I would be able to choose my locations 3 months (not 60 days) prior to my wedding. This information was given to me in an earlier email by Michelle which I can forward to you if you would like. I am concerned that, even though I was the first person to reserve this date for my wedding, I will not be able to get the locations I want. I am also upset with the quote you gave me for reception set up. I was under the impression that it will be a $65 standard set up fee for the entire reception when I decided to book my wedding with Moon Palace. If these fees have changed for 2012 then I believe that I should have been made aware of the change in fees earlier as this would have affected my decisions I have made. I do not have much to put on the tables- only centerpieces and a little something for each place setting. I also have paper lanterns to add personality to the reception itself. This increase in charge, however, makes these costly items now money wasted for me. Is there any way that I can be honored last year's price since I booked last year? I think you need to forward this message you your manager to let them know that myself as well as other 2012 Moon Palace Brides who booked their weddings in 2011 and was originally told 2011 prices are upset that drastic changes were made without informing us. Not just the set up fee but other fees as well which, combined, great add up. I know that it is not your decision to change these prices and you have been nothing but prompt and honest with me, but I feel greatly cheated by a company that I and my family has already invested so much money in by choosing to vacation and get married at your resorts. Thanks again for your help Beatriz and I hope to hear from you soon. Again, I am not upset with you. In fact, I think you are doing a great job. It may be harsh, but I hope it gets our point across. I think it is crazy unfair to change set up from $65 to $100/table- especially changing the price for people who booked over 6 months ago!! Please send a similar email to your coordinators asking them to forward it to their managers and lets see if we can get them to honor their 2011 price for us who booked in 2011.
  14. Aw, I went to college in Duluth! College of Saint Scholastica, it's up on the top of the hill. Gosh I miss that beautiful city!!
  15. Hey Jamie- Where in MN did you go? I grew up there and have lived all over that state! Actually I'm heading there two weeks from today for a bridal shower with my family and a bachelorette party with my college friends! Can't wait!
  16. I just confirmed with Beatriz that my FI and my room nights WILL count! Whoop!
  17. Try this Also I was wondering if my FI and my room counts in the room nights? If so, do they all count, even the ones that will end up being free? (If so I will be at exactly 60). What can I do to try to get that set up cost down? Can I have my guest do the setting up? Information Private functions.XLS
  18. Okay ladies sorry to bring up the set-up costs again but Beatriz just sent me an email telling me that it will cost $100/table of set up fees AND $50 PER PERSON for dinner for a private function if we do not qualify for a free private function. She even sent me a spread sheet with these numbers written on them. Here is a link to the spread sheet. (hope it works!) https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=gmail&attid=0.1&thid=135abd7751b6c308&mt=application/vnd.ms-excel&url=https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui%3D2%26ik%3Dfd3074325b%26view%3Datt%26th%3D135abd7751b6c308%26attid%3D0.1%26disp%3Dsafe%26zw&sig=AHIEtbQgvTkN35_FyDFpiyFpEeimBCBsrg If this is true I will be very unhappy as I was under the understanding that it would in no way be that expensive! Goodness!
  19. Well ladies I have been meaning to post some of my recent DIY projects... so here they are! First, my "do not disturb" signs. Coco- I got the circle cutter you rave about and a big paper cutter and they have been great investments! Made these bad boys a breeze! Also- I finished my survival kits to put in my OOT bags. This is a big CHECK! Off the list. For the new BDW brides out there I have a word of advice- if you are planning on doing these or other OOT bag ideas buy things as you find them and don't wait to start stocking up once you figure out your game plan. I started buying things last fall which helped the $$ situation now. My favorite thing in the kits? Caribbean Escape Antibac from B&BW. How perfect!! (They have that new collection of lotions that are all destination themed- unfortunately no caribbean- I think they're Bali, Rio and something else. I guess we'll have to go to Brazil for wedding renewals sometime LOL!!)
