Hi Stephanie, We are trying to decide between Curacao (Marriott) and TCI(several hotels). Have you checked the government travel site for safety warnings for Punta Cana? I was considering some Central American locations and nixed them because of those. Granted, you have to be careful wherever you go, but I have some guests who don't travel much and are afraid for their safety. If everyone attending is well-traveled, it's probably not an issue, but if you have some travel virgins, like I do, it might be worth considering. Also, I just checked and the site talks about frequent power outages in the DR, so make sure your hotel has a gennie. Trina
