  1. YAY!!! That's good that you get the upgrade!! I think there's access to some lounge thingy at the airport, the extra weight allowance, and extra leg room with your seats (don't think it's actually emergency seating though...)
  2. Our travel agent gave us the details when we chose our package. Our offer gives the Bride and Groom the upgrade to elite. You are right, it is two bags, I was going off of memory...
  3. I think we are planning on giving our OOT bags out (to the people that are local at least) in the week leading up to the wedding and asking that they please pack them. I think it is easier than giving them at the airport, and then people can leave stuff at home if they don't need it...as long as they bring the mugs!!! We are flying with Sunwing and we are only allowed 1 bag, 20kg for guests and 30kg for the bride and groom. I know my bag is already jam-packed (it always is when we go away...) but we are splitting everything that we are taking down (parasols, fans, favours, signs, baskets, lanterns, etc.) between my parents and in-laws, but we are still going to be paying for an extra bag for that... AD2012: OMG...is it that soon?!?!? I'm getting married the day before you, but your ceremony is where we got engaged! It's a gorgeous resort!
  4. Jessica, Because somehow I didn't get as far as your pictures before I replied, I just have to say: OMG!!!!!!!!!! Love the Bride and Groom plaques on the chairs!!!!! Congrats on an awesome job!!!! All the hard work paid off!!!!
  5. I tried to add you onto FB, but I couldn't find you...I would love to see pictures and get any reception tips from you because yours was so gorgeous... lande8, Welcome!!! You will have a blast planning your wedding, all of the brides here are super helpful!!!
  6. Dollarama is a great place to start, but I (personally) think that it's easiest to decide what you want to include, and then figure out where to find it all. That way you don't end up with a bunch of random things that you decide you don't want to use. I'm a May bride too, but it's never too early to start. Good luck!!
  7. I fully admit, I saw your luggage tags on here when you first posted them...and I foind my inspiration!!! I made the double-sided business cards on Vistaprint, laminated them and punched holes, and they look FANTASTIC!!!! Thanks for the help with that Camy47!!!
  8. I watched the video last night too, and I completely agree, it was absolutely breathtaking!!!! I'm sure that yours will be just as gorgeous, let's face it, Mayte is awesome at what she does. Congratulations to Jessica, and best wishes Mel!!!
  9. OMG...that sucks that she would just not answer you Considering your wedding is approaching, I wouldn't necessarily count on those bags. I'm not sure where you are from, but if you are a GTA bride, then creative bag has an amazing selection of bags in all different colours (I'm pretty sure you can buy online too...) Good luck with your OOTs, and your groomsmen...
  10. What I have figured is that if it's a ginormous box, then they will charge duty because they will get more $$ from it. I've bought stuff that came in smaller packages from the States and I haven't been charged. Just be prepared to pay it, that's how I look at it.
  11. I looked up the Bank of America branch that they use. I know it's in Davie, Florida...
  12. I'm getting married in May of 2012, but our STDs just said "Punta Cana, Dominican Republic May 2012" and then once we were confirmed in with the resort and the Jellyfish, then we put the details into our invitations...
  13. I don't know about anyone else, but with our package at the Majestic Elegance, we either get one or two rounds of golf included per week (depending on room category...). My family is big on golf; off the top of my head, we've got about 8 or 10 golfers coming, so here is my new addition to the OOT bags. We are planning on getting personlized golf balls!! People can play with them or just keep them as a souvenir, and they really aren't that badly priced...Unfortunately, finding a place in the GTA that does them is impossible, but there are quite a few in the States. Also, got our mugs in from Factory 21 on Ebay. They are fantastic!! I would highly recommend them to anybody. And if anyone wants to know, duty is around $60....
  14. I am in 100% agreeance with you!!!! I am a two-dress bride too. And same thing, started with a ball gown and changed it to a more destination-friendly dress. Good for you for getting what you want. No one should regret their dress on their wedding day. =0)
  15. If anyone is looking, the moist lens cleaning cloths are back in stock at Dollarama (in Durham Region, at least...) I just found a bunch at the Oshawa centre store, and they were only $1 each.
  16. Tori, can you please send me the new price list?? I couldn't open it, but I would like to know what I'm getting into with the resort doing our ceremony. Can you please just email it to [email protected] Thanks a bunch!!! Decoration packages 2011 - 2012.pdf
  17. I mis-typed...sorry for the confusion...The DJ is listed right above the cake, which is the $200...
  18. I'm pretty sure I saw them at our Dollaramas here...I was there last week....
  19. We are doing the ceremony at ME and then our reception at the Jellyfish, so we are doing a cocktail hour for (I think) $5 per person, per hour. We are doing a "dinner drinks" selection, and then the full open bar after that. Decor for the restaurant (reception) is about $500, DJ is $200, and transportation in the super nice coach bus (I've seen pics on here somewhere of it) is $6 per person, roundtrip. I know the feeling with the cost of the resort. Jelly fish doesn't look that much cheaper to start, but then again, you aren't paying a 26% service fee on top of your reception costs. Good luck!!!
  20. Yay Bliss Bridal!!! I'm not a Bliss bride, but all of my bridesmaids dresses will be coming from there!!! My dress is at Everlasting Memories in Port Perry...
  21. Try the No Name Ziploc bags from Loblaws or No Frills. I'm pretty sure that they are blank.
  22. I've been to 3 different dollarama stores in the GTA and not one has these cloths...considering most of our guests wear normal glasses and everyone wears sunglasses, these are awesome...just wish I could find them....
  23. I went this weekend to creative bag in Pickering...HOLY COW!!!! It was a bride's dream!!!! We ended up getting the large woven bags (they actually look like the bags from Mandarin, but way nicer...) in lime green for 0.99 each!!! I was looking at the same thing on promopays.ca but they were like $3 each. Also, place card and favour-type things....lots!!! We got the little metal buckets...they are so cute, we are gonna try to see if we can make them a combo favour container and placecard holder...I think they were $11 for 12....
