  1. Our Toronto rates are definitely higher than those, and we are the first week of May. We are paying $1750, taxes included. As for hearing back about your date, you probably won't be able to book it until (probably) this March. I know when I tried to book ours in March of 2011 for May 2012, I couldn't book it. I did put it on hold, and then got my confirmation from Sandra in April when the judge's calendar became available. Try emailing the other address that you got given, it should take you direct to one of the co-ordinators. Good Luck!!!
  2. That's what I've heard too. We are using the Jellyfish DJ and I think we will be doing CD's with the "important" songs (our first dance, mother/son, father/daughter, etc.)...Other than that, we aren't too picky about it...it'll be a great party regardless.
  3. Thanks...on that note, last time I was in Dollarama I got the larger (probably 2.5"-3" high) bottles of Purell for $0.69...
  4. I saw pictures somewhere of security at the Jellyfish...maybe Flickr...
  5. I know that they typically have them at our Dollaramas out here for $2 a tube...those and Tylenol...
  6. Sandra had told me that the activities can change so to get in touch with them closer to the date that we are going. I want to include this in our welcome books, so it kinda sucks, but I understand it. If anyone is looking for the restaurants and hours that they operate, you can get them on the Majestic website.
  7. The Jellyfish has a bus (and a really nice bus, at that...) that will come and pick up your group and drop them off later for $5 per person. If you email Mayte, she can send you the list of everything that they offer. She doesn't always answer quickly, but she will answer you... We were in the same boat, but we are keeping our ceremony at the ME and then heading to the JF to eat, drink, and dance.
  8. Thanks Alex and Melissa!! Got the menu!! Now the hard part...decision making!!!
  9. I think we are going the same route now too. I didn't realize that a la carte was an option... Mel, do you happen to have the menu for JF? If not, I'll try emailing Mayte. If so, can you send it to [email protected] ? Thanks a bunch!!!
  10. Thanks Mel!!!!! This is soooooooooooo helpful and reassuring to read!!!! Merry Christmas to you and your new husband too!!!!
  11. I got a bunch of tourist magazines from the Dominican tourist office in Toronto, check and see if there is a Mexican office close to you in BC. The best part is...they are FREE!!!!!
  12. I got an email full of free and 80% off deals this past week, which is good until the 19th of December...if anyone wants it, let me know and I can flip it to you... Right now, I have 40 pens (4 groups of 10 was cheaper...) for $6.99/10 pens (regular price $35.99) and 200 note cards with our starfish for $33.49 (regular price $167.99). My total is about $61, with total savings of $250. Just make sure you use Vistaprint.ca, there are Vistaprints for a bunch of different countries and the deals are all different, plus then they will nail you on shipping...I did this by mistake, and paid $42 shipping for my free business cards (which are luggage tags...)
  13. I think we are using Canon in D (all piano) to walk down the aisle (although our aisle is probably longer at the ME) and we want to use Bittersweet Symphony (all instrumental) to walk back up the aisle....
  14. Soogal...great minds must think alike... I was going to say something like Scrabble Slam, or there's a Monopoly version of a card game now...even the velcro pads with the tennis ball for playing catch....
  15. I had to go get my fill on Youtube for the new Caribbean Emotions videos...and I would just like to say, Mel...I love your TTD!!!!!! Did you have to ask for Pascal to come? Or is he included?
  16. Don't know how far out you are from your wedding, but Creative bag is a canadian company with three locations (Pickering being the closest to Ottawa). Tons of awesome bags in great colours for cheap. We got lime green bags (the kind that you get Chinese food from Mandarin in) for 0.99 each!! They do ship too....
  17. Our thoughts have basically been that we are eloping and whoever wants to tag along is more than wecome. That way I'm not feeling disappointed over who does or doesn't come. My FI's best man has said that he's not coming, which hurt my FI, but now he's OK with it. As long as our parents and siblings are there, everyone else is a bonus.... I actually went onto itravel2000 and pretended like I was booking, and it gave me our flight times.
  18. OMG Mel!! I LOOOOOOVE that first picture!!!!! You were a beautiful bride!! Congrats again!!!
  19. They actually have all the bags and stuff in store so you can go and see it before you buy. Which is also dangerous because there is lots of things that are perfect for a destination wedding....
  20. I believe that there is a DollarTree in Newmarket as well....I am going up to Newmarket next weekend, so I will let you all know....
  21. I can't wait to see more pictures!!! Caribbean Emotions is our photographer and videographer too, so seeing your pictures is getting me so excited to work with them!!!
  22. I'm not having the ceremony at the Jellyfish, but at the resort's beach. I have never wanted to wear any kind of shoe when I got married, so I am your typical barefoot bride. That's just me though...I have seen pictures of people that have done it though...
  23. We are doing per couple too, but we will be folding a second bag and tying it with ribbon, then putting it in the OOT bag. That way our couples aren't trying to cram stuff into one.
  24. I think what we might do is make tags on the computer, laminate them, and then attach them to the handle of the mugs with ribbon in our colours. For yours, to do red ribbon on the turquoise mugs and turquoise ribbon on the red would be awesome. Then people can take the tags off when they get home.
