  1. Hi NYC Ladies, I know a lot of us want to make BD albums as gifts for our fiances. LivingSocial has a deal for $95 for an hour session, which includes a CD of all the photos plus $100 toward an album. I've been looking for a while, and this deal is great! She also shoots the photos in her studio, which is exactly what I was looking ofr, since my apartment is tiny and definitely not meant for a photo shoot lol. Here's the link if anyone's interested:
  2. Hi Ladies! I am planning my wedding at the Renaissance Aruba for May 2012. I am looking for advice with regard to hair and makeup. I know a lot of people recommend Jennive, and I have contacted her, but she seems not to be great about responding which makes me nervous. I really need to know how many people she works with, as there will be about 9 or 10 of us getting hair/makeup done the day of my wedding, and I do not think 1 or even 2 people can handle that. Juney (the Renaissance Wedding Coordinator) suggested the Okeanos Spa, which is on site at the hotel. I may be interested in working with them, but have only seen a very small handful of reviews on them. Has anyone used their services that can recommend/not recommend them?? Pictures would be especially helpful! Thanks! Dana
  3. Hi Ladies, I am researching options for hair/make up in Aruba, and Juney (the WC at the Renaissance) suggested i look into the Spa at the Renaissance. Has anyone used their services? Would anyone suggest/not suggest using them? If you have used them, would you mind posting some pics?? Thanks!!
  4. Just in case anyone is also looking for these, I found them at Amazon for a reasonable price: http://www.amazon.com/Inglow-CG10286CR6-1-75-Inch-Flameless-Embedded/dp/B0045I6N6S I am going to order them within the next few weeks, so I'll let everyone know how they are.
  5. Hi Rosie, Do you still have the Thank You signs available? Love that idea!
  6. Oh I'll have to stop at Costco... that's great! Thanks!
  7. Thanks for the ideas! I'll have to go to Target and Marshalls in person and check out the shelves. I have something specific in mind that I know I've seen, I just don't know where to find it again!
  8. Hi Ladies! I am looking into using battery operated tea lights/votives as part of my reception decor (I am getting married in Aruba, and it will be too windy for real ones). I know in the past I have seen ones with real looking wicks and not those plastic "flame" looking things on top, but I can't seem to find them. Does anyone have any idea where I can find them (in bulk would be great, but anything that anyone knows about would be fine.) Thanks so much!!
  9. This definitely sounds like a cute/fun idea for your guests! It's a great ice breaker if you have people from different groups that don't already know each other. Just make sure you don't make it too complicated planning wise, you're already going to have a lot on your mind without this!
  10. It sounds like your wedding was absolutely wonderful! I am using Victor Winklaar for my May 2012 wedding also.... so glad to hear more good things about him!
  11. Thanks! I love yours... did they come already printed, or did you have to iron on to personalize?
  12. Hi ladies! I just wanted to give an update on my Aruba wedding plans! (I think my real life friends and family are tired of all my updates, but I'm sure you ladies don't mind LOL We are booked for May 12, 2012 at the Renaissance Aruba! I am so excited and cannot wait. Juney has been super accommodating and helpful. It's a pleasure working with him! We have also booked our photographer - Victor Winklaar. I am so impressed by his photos, and every time I see him post new pictures on Facebook I get more and more excited. AND I think I found my wedding dress! But I'm not going to share until I'm certain.. I don't want to jinx myself! How are all of you doing with your plans???
  13. Oooh I just looked them up... they would have been a good option. Thanks for the thought!
  14. Hi Ladies, Now that I have sent out my Save the Dates {yay!}, I am starting to look at more of the nitty gritty things. I have found so many great ideas about what to stuff my OOT bags with by searching older threads, but I was hoping to find more info about he bags themselves. I am hoping to spend about $1-$2 per bag for the actual bags, but want something that's relatively good quality that people will use again. (We are expecting about 90-100 people, so if I'm not careful, I can easily go overboard on OOT bags and spending in general.) Does anything like this exist? Thanks for all suggestions in advance!!
  15. Hi Ladies! So we finally put our deposit down today and I am itching to send out our STDs! Before I can do that, I have to finish up the website that will contain all of the info our guests need for the trip and the wedding. If anyone has suggestions of wording for the site, information to definitely include, etc. that would be so helpful! (Or if that info is already on here and you can point me in the right direction, that would be great, too! I am still pretty new on here, and have trouble sifting through the wealth of info that exists in the boards!) Thanks!!!

  18. I am SO glad to have hound this thread! Proti007 and Torilynnsmith, I totally hear you! Fi and I have still not even picked a location yet, and my FFIL keeps telling me he has his cargo shorts from Costco ready for the wedding. He has said it about 10 times, and I know it's just to get a rise out of me, but still! It's driving me crazy. I know it's not as formal as a NYC wedding, but like you said, we're getting MARRIED. It's just as legit as a non-beach wedding, and there's no reason to dress like you're at a BBQ.
  19. If you're looking for a "sweet" themed song, how about Sugar, Sugar by the Archies?
