I found a great deal on a pair of earrings, that I really couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere else... my colors are turquoise and yellow and the girls are wearing blue dresses. I got these earrings for them to wear http://www.ross-simons.com/products/663184.html I really don't like the look of gold and that's what I was finding for "yellow flower earrings". Wonderful price with the extra 25% off. They have other colors too if you don't like yellow. Hope this helps someone. -
Hi everyone, I had my first fitting today. If you look back 10 pages or so you'll see my dress from babyonline.com. It was too long and the skirt was A-line and I really want fit and flare. I can blame the xtra length on babyonline, but I was not very clear about the shape of the dress I wanted. I knew either way I would have alterations and I was very happy with the quality of the dress I received for $185. It is going to be more complicated too shorten my dress than I originally thought, because all the bottom bead and lace work has to be removed and then reapplied. Yet, the total she quoted me is $350. I live in the Washington, DC area and I think that price is fantastic. For under $550 I will get the dress of my dreams. The original is over $1,200! I am nervous because the seamstress said she wasn't sure she could get it as "fit" as I like, because of the organza fabric. I guess it depends on how it is cut (on the round, or something like that). She said if the dress was satin that wouldn't be a problem. What I would take away from my experience at this point is to make sure your measurements are accurate and taken by a professional. Make sure you describe the shape of your dress and ask for pictures. Pick the fabric that looks best on you and know the differences between the different fabrics (I don't and have no idea). Be prepared to pay for alterations - it's not like you can fly to China to try it on before they ship it. I'll keep you posted as the alterations go forward - I've got one scheduled once a month until April.

Hi Kellygrrl - thank you so much for those FAQ! You saved me so much time. Would love to meet up. We're arriving on Tuesday the 8th, so plenty of overlap to say hello. Everyone - We sent out our invitations last week and I thought I would share. I got the idea for message in the bottle invites off this website and used Mrs Weiss' posting for purchasing the materials: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/72777/message-in-a-bottle-save-the-date-invitations-pictures-instructions-and-prices. Creating the bottles with the sand and shells was fun (I did purchase a funnel, so it was easy). What took FOREVER was rolling the invites and tying them so they were small enough to fit in the bottles. I wrapped hemp string through the invites and attached the string to the bottom of the cork with designer tacks - that way when the guests removed the cork, the invite would come out too (no sandy mess). Instead of paying for boxes and shipping, we mailed them right in the plastic bottles. The post office added two stickers - one for the postage and one with a barcode for the zip. They did take up space, but there was still space on the back where you could see the contents of the bottle. (I apologize for the multiple posts, but every time I upload multiple imagines in one post, it goes for review and then never seems to get posted!)

Hi ladies, for those of you just starting I thought I would share my wedding website. We are using it to communicate travel, accomodations for guests and manage the rsvps. I stole almost everything on my FAQ page from another bride and I'm sorry I can't remember who it was to give them credit. Feel free to copy and paste any info and pics. Rowe - your dress is amazing! I posted last night, but it went "under review". Since the last post I wrote that went under review never made it to the forum, I thought I would just try to remember what I wrote... I tried my dress on again and like Rowe, it is too big. I had the corset back all the way closed and there was still room. I want to make several alterations: shorten length to my size, pull in at top and make the skirt more mermaid style rather than the current A-line. My inspiration dress was mermaid-ish; but I think it was hard to tell from the pictures I sent Babyonline. I also didn't ask them to put the dress on a mannequin, so I never gave them feedback about the skirt. As for the size, I measured myself instead of going to a professional, so I'm not going to blame the dressmaker for that either. Just like Rowe, I feel like I got the dress for a steal and even if I had bought the "real" dress for $1,000, I would have needed alterations (I'm just short and tiny up top). BTW the dress store where I tried on the original "real" dress no longer exists! I drive by it everyday. There was no going out of business sign or anything. Just one day the store and everything in it were gone. Can you imagine if I had purchased through them! Oh the horror!! I'm going to post the pics of me trying it on again in a separate post - hopefully that will avoid the "review" process.

Hi Everyone, I tried it on again and below are the pictures. I've decided I want several alterations done. The dress is too big. The corset is pulled all the way shut and I still have room. I measured myself instead of going to a professional, so I'm not going to blame the dressmaker. I'm going to ask a seamstress to shorten it to my size and then pull in the dress and shape it mermaid style, instead of the current A-line (the inspiration dress was mermaid, but I think it was hard to tell from the pictures). I never asked Babyonline to put the dress on a mannequin for the pictures, so I never gave them feedback about the shape. I have no idea what the alterations will cost; but I'm still really happy with the dress. I paid $185 and I know if I had bought the $1000 "real" dress I would still need to pay for alterations - I'm just short and have no boobs (this dress helps conceal that!). Oh and the place I tried on the "real" dress at is closed! I drive by it every day. There was no going out of business signs or anything. Just one day the store and everything in it were gone. Imagine if I had ordered from them. Oh the horror. Rowe - had did your dress turn out? Boxy like we were worried? The lace and bead work on my dress is just beautiful! Babyonline did a great job. The communication with them was a little rough. Originally they priced the dress at $135, but when I gave them details of what I wanted and the fabric to use (Organza and swavorski crystals) they increased the price to $185. They did this BEFORE making the dress and before I paid, and I agreed to the amount. I'll post pictures after the alterations - but that might be a few months. -Erin

Hi Everyone, I got my dress today and love it! I couldn't ask for anything more for the price I paid. It is too long by about 8-10 inches, but if that's the only alteration I have to make, I'm very, very happy. the train is also much longer than I expected, but its beautiful with the lace and beading. I'll post more pics when I'm able to try it on and its not at my office I posted the inspiration dress: Private Label 1340 on this forum about a week ago. Ordered from Babyonline for $185

Yeah, I asked about the size and even resent my measurements. All I got was that the dress was custom made for me and that it should look better on. I also just had them ship it for the same reasons as you. I'm fairly certain with DHGate that the seller doesn't get paid until we go online after we receive the dress and say that it's correct (at least I recall reading that somewhere along the line). Keep me posted on how it fits when you get it! I'll try to post pictures when I get mine (the original post with about 4 images of my dress still isn't up).

I think they did a great job on your dress! It's gorgeous. I agree the flower is a bit big, I think the placement might be fine. Maybe they can take off some of the "petals" that make the largest circle? I am also nervous that my dress is not fitted (I posted pics yesterday and am still waiting for the moderators to release the other pictures). I would double check with them on the dimensions of the bust, waist and hips. Perhaps its just how they're holding it? I hope so, because mine is the exact same - no shape! I would be more inclined to have them ship the dress here - once they verify the measurements, and have any other alterations done when you can actually try on the dress.

Is anyone else finding out that half their guests are pregnant? Five of my friends, who otherwise would come, will either have a one-month old or be one-month away from having the baby at the time of my wedding. I knew we would have less guests because its a destination; but most of these people we were really hoping could come. Its looking more and more like it will be the FH and myself with our families (my parents and sisters just booked for the same exact time period we're going - was hoping they would have done it differently). Sorry, I just had to vent and get that out. My FI just keeps rolling his eyes when I tell him he should have proposed 6-9 months earlier and it would have worked out so much better

Hi Ladies, I got my pictures today from Babyonline. I can't think of anything to ask them before they ship it. I am most worried about the fit (since reading some recent posts); but even if they put it on a mannequin, I don't think I'll know if its right until it arrives. First set of pictures are the inspiration dress, then my real one I asked for champagne color thread to be laced within the design to help make it pop. The original dress is $1200 - 1400; Babyonline made the below for $185 Me trying on the original (I sent this image to babyonline so they could see the bead work) The one Babyonline made for me:

Message in a Bottle Seating Cards
hilly1gh replied to SarahBen2011's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Awesome job! These look so great. If anyone wants to resell their bottles after their wedding, let me know. I'm getting married in May and would need about 50 (but I won't know for sure until Feb probably). MrsWeiss1211 - I loved your Save the Dates! My invites are going to be messages in a bottle; although I'm not doing a box - it would take me way too long to be that creative! -
Hi Ladies - I just placed my order with babyonline for my wedding dress! So excited. For those who were wondering about measurements, babyonline sent me the below picture, which was really useful! I'm nervous about fit, but since the dress cost me $185, instead of $1,200, I feel like I have a budget to do alternations if need be. Good luck everyone! Erin

I am discovering this more and more each day. I followed up on our wedding time because she never confirmed after my email asking to change it from 6 PM to 4 PM (but she had indicated she could do the change and that 4 PM was available). Well today, two weeks later, she finally emails me back and says that another bride has booked the 4 PM. I'm sure we'll be fine at 6; but I definitely asked her weeks ago and feel like if she had taken care of it when I asked, we'd have the time we want. Planning a resort wedding is a lot of work with email communication. I just want to pick up the phone and plan everything in one phone call. UGH.

I was going to use Samuel Luna because he is the most reasonably priced and was 20% off early booking. But literally the day I was going to sign his contract the photographer I was going to use when we were planning the wedding in the states emailed me. We talked and she's going to do my pics for the cost of travel + $250. I couldn't pass it up because I love her photo style. She's going to take photos the night before, the day of and do a TTD. Turns out she'd like a vacation and I want a photographer... perfect match! Question for all - how far have you gotten with planning through the resort? So far my time and place for the wedding is reserved, but they haven't let me know if the reception spot I want is available. I've read in this forum that most things take place once you get there, but I just feel like more can be done now and I know what I want.

Hi Ladies, I think I found my dress! Now I need help choosing who can make it the best. I actually love the top and back of Private Label by G 1340; but love the bottom of Private Label by G 1312 (because the lace is rounded and finished at the very bottom and the lace design goes all the way down the front seams, instead of showing any of the seam - which it does on the 1340). The 1340 I tried on in the store was Ivory with Rum accented lace. I love it when the lace is accented with a slightly darker color like champagne or rum. I'm not sure if the below pictures do it any justice, but you get the idea. Any recommendations on which online "knock-off" site I should use?? Prettypigpig - I love your dress and the lace job on it - I think you said you used Babyonline. Do you think they'd be able to do the color accent I want and all the beading? Private Label 1340 1340 Private Label 1312 thanks, Erin
