Hi Ladies! Does anyone know temperature wise what time of day is best to book your ceremony towards the end of January ( I dont know if the time of year there actually makes a difference or not) but heat wise what times are good to try to book for? Are there specific set times available? Or do they just tell you what time without a choice? Or I guessanother way of putting it would what is the most sought after times of day for ceremonies if that makes sence? Thanks for any input

Yes, Im offering two prizes.. One for the formal photos group and one for the silly photos... Im going to give the winner for the formal photos a cool photo frame with a group shot on the beach of everyone that came to the wedding. and for the silly photos im going to have a bottle of booze. Im going to announce the winners at our "at home reception" and have all the best pictures running on a projector

Yah I decided Im going to wait on the disposable cameras until the AHR to catch photos there as im still over a year away and already have at least 40 people comfirmed so It is an added expence I dont really have. Kimi: I had looked into doing the disposable cameras with different photos wanted written on each camera but knowing my luck If I were to attempt that someone who doesnt have it written on there camera a good shot wont be looking for it and miss it ( like have a better view to get a better picture) or something of that sort.. thats why I figured with the list of what I am looking for even with alot of multiples I can choose which ones I wish to save then also have a random funny pictures vacation alblum for memories Im sure my plans will change a million times over before I get them set in stone that is the great thing about us all having alot of time to plan Happy planning ladies XO

Hi Peach, I am in the same boat.. I dont know whether to stay serious and just ask for wedding pictures or go silly which as of now im just doing two different lists where for contest prizes im going to offer a unique frame with a group shot of everyone at the wedding as a prize along with something else and then a bottle of booze for the winner of the funny pictures. I am making a wedding week activity book with crosswords/wordsearches ect to go in my wedding week survival bags im handing out before we travel ( give them something to do on the plane? ) and The last page is my Photo scavenger hunt Contest. Ive made two different lists one being wedding pictures and one being silly ones. The whole Idea to me is to get photos that our photographer may miss at the wedding / or even different angles and then the silly ones just for my guest to have fun with and play in a contest then make an alblum of the guest pictures having fun doing seeing random things.. Im going to write something like upload your pictures for viewing on a social media site( facebook ect ) and send me the link or email directly To enter the contest.. All photo Ideas I have so far are credited to other brides photo ideas that I have found doing the same kind of photo contests for their guests on this site.. Hi Peach, I am using a travel agent through Sears Travel. She is my mothers travel agent that she uses all the time and I know she has always been very good to her so I figured why not lol plus im not sure where you are located but if you have Sears there your guests can put the trip on their Sears card. Regardless on where you look for an agent my advice would be to start off asking at least 3 different agents questions. You will want to know if they honor price matching ( if someone finds a cheaper price will they match it plus a group discount) and anything else they will do for you by you choosing them. Ask if there is a guaranteed price drop - most agencies honor at least onee price drop. Every agency is different. But in the end I think you will find if one agent gives you a better price then another they will ALL price match eachother for your business so the obvious thing to do would be to go with whichever agent has the quickest responses, was the most helpful and was honestly looking to help you out the most. You may find smaller companys work hardest. One thing I personally Always do when booking a trip is look online myself for pricing and if i find it cheaper then the agents i inform them and they will get that price.. while checking yourself try a few airlines as prices always vary... Example: last quote I got my agent was using Sunwing and I found the same trip $100 cheaper with westjet.. but she was willing to go westjet and get me the same price PLUS a group discount & price drop But this is just my opinion! This will give everyone alot more general info on topics that they find useful. I notice on alot of threads there is a substantial number more of views then replies... Maybe this will intise the "lurkers" ( i must admit when I first found this site i did do the same thing lol ) only viewing threads to imput their thoughts and expand on other ideas to come up with some creative new plans I actually check for new reviews on a few resorts im interested in booking for my wedding all the time - I hope this intises some people to write more reviews this site has been such a great benifit in my future planning! Hi ribbit101, Ive heard you can ship to the resort ( not sure if it is the same for all resorts as i read it from another bride somewhere in a forum here) but only one week in advance and there is a fee for the resort accepting the package.. also additional charges may occur if customs needs to open the packaging which apparently happens alot? My thought would be to check an additional suitcase - may be the cheaper route? The wedding planner should be able to give you specific pricing so you know for sure Kimi - That is soo great that your fiance is onboard with all your craftyness!! I wish Mine was the same LOL Ive desided I will wait until January and just show him my finished mockups and see if there are any changes or ideas he has come that time and let him settle more until we have a specific date. FUNNY! I am actually also growing greatly font of my "fake date" as well LOL I made a facebook event basically informing all our friends and family that there will be a wedding "tentitivally" on that date and we are informing so anyone who wants to join us has ample time to save.. I ended us with responses that made me laugh.. the date we chose was January 23, 2013.. which ended up being twwo different peoples birthdays ( actually one cousin from both sides of the family LOL ) And one of my friends wedding anniversary that I had completely forgot the date! So everyone is excited to plan a vacation knowing there will be 40-50 other close frioends/family to party with making for a greater vacation. The funniest was that my dad is the one who picked out that our "fake date" is 1-23-13 and I hadnt realized that ( it would make it quite easy for my fiance not to forgot our anniversary with it being 1 2 3 LOL So now I assume we may do the same and keep it as well I cant believe how much you have accomplished!! Ive only finished my bording passes and a layout for my save the date magnets. Im going to be making "wedding survival kits" closer to the date in ziplock bags instead of hard cases to save space ( alreadt have a template) and will be handing out as many as possible before we go so I dont have to carry as many of them in a suitcase. I like the idea and hadnt put alot of thought into the pre departure books.. and the ceremony fans are also a great idea! Id love to see pictures of your finished products! Im going to take some of my boarding passes soon too I agree and am glad more and more of us are poping up and cant wait to see everyones ideas and have people to plan and discuss options with! Eva Thats funny with you mother in law I am doing the same thing with the resturaunt dinner then private party afterwards My Brother was actually married there ( well at the sister resort - the elegance ) 3 years ago - It is funny as it rained on them aswell and they were out dancing LOL - I personally missed the wedding as I was pregnant with my son and too far along to travel but have heard great things as well as my personal experiences travelling there myself. What kind of wedding package does Dreams offer? I actuually never looked into that resort. Do you know if Is it much more expencive then Colonial? Thats great to choose somewhere significant! Better memories! I actually met my fiance litterly the day I came home from my vacation to colonial so im kinda doing the same thing lol And I will DEFINATELY be talking to my travel agent come December after reading that! The actual resort said no booking until Jan 2012 but maybe a travel agent will have more pull? I just want a date so I can get the ball rolling LOL Emily - That is really great you were able to secure a date with a deposit! If must be a relief to have a secured date! I think Colonial falls into the resorts that dont have there rates published. I heard the airplains dont sign their contracts with the resorts until a year in advance so I dont even know if bugging anyone in December will even be helpful to me LOL Congrats TINK Im planning at the Majestic Colonial - My brother was wed at the Elegance! The pictures are soo beautiful!! It also looks like a great location

Im planning for January 2013 ( I reallllly hate not being able to set a date and get things rolling lol ) Fiance and I are thinking Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana I had just come home from there 4 years back the day I met my fiance so we figured it would be neat to choose there for a destination wedding as Ive already been there and know that the service and food are awesome from experience. And not to worry about our guests and booking a resort that isnt up to par or not worth their money as it is a costly thing to ask of them to join us.. Im excited to have this site as a resourse it really is a great tool! With all the help from other brides, templates and neat ideas on here by the time im ready to send anything out or get anything ready im going to have to choose from multiple mock-ups LOL BUT I figure its better to have alot of choices then rush things and not have enough
