Chelsea ---- this is GREAT! I didn't know that you had a wedding at Moon Palace, too? I love scavenger hunts and was considering planning one of these for our guests. What a great incentive to book at the resort, too! Thanks for sharing! anudrm & dzaccaria!! Best wishes for planning!! Dz - I actually looked at using Teresa Stauring for our TA, and she seemed amazing, but we decided to just go directly through MP since my mom has a membership there. Our guests will book on the website link they provided us. (2 have already booked using this) I'm also doing a complimentary wedding, and we didn't have to put anything down. Are you doing a civil or symbolic ceremony? -

So the rebudgeting went well ---- yay!!! Awesome premarital work, haha - and free! It's great to know that we won't go into debt for our wedding... all the extra effort to stay within our financial goals will definitely pay off. And it's a challenge that we get to work on as a team together. Going to bed a happy girl. Update: I made a list of all my DIY projects... 23 in all! Some are simple and some are more complex. I know I'm taking on a lot for 4 months, but I think I can do it. Especially with your encouragement! Can't wait to post pics as I complete them. Started making my bridal bouquet and love it! Hope you all have a fabulous planning week! Much Love. xo -

Sooo cute!! I love the detail on the plane and the palm tree. Your guests will start getting excited! And then your passport invites will blow them away. Excited to see how those turn out too. Yay!!! How was the party?! Missed you too! The budget cutting went REALLY well actually ---- we creatively came up with win/win solutions to downsize on some things, and the great part is that it took away some of my DIY effort which was stressing me out! Yay! I feel like when I sent the MP a huge load of questions that they transferred me to multiple people, and that's when I started getting things done. I think a couple of other ladies on here have experienced the same thing. Keep trying!! You'll get there! Fabulous!! If you feel gorgeous in it... do it! It's YOUR and your FI's day! P.S. Beautiful hairstyle, too! You'll rock them both down the aisle. Welcome back!! Check, check, check off the list --- yay! -

So.... I've missed you ladies!!! A lot! After maybe more than a week of not getting on here, I see that I had 156 posts to catch up on! Update --- the FI and I have had to creatively downsize our wedding budget due to some changes in our personal lives... so, we had to change it by like 22%!! Needless to say, l've been visiting every craft store in town pricing things to do more DIY crafts! (Not like I'm complaining, since I'm really in my element when I'm crafting. ) And the FI and I had a talk that now I'm like doing wedding stuff 24/7 and need to find more of a balance. ::::sigh:::: No one ever told me how much work this was all going to be! But I know it will be worth it. Thank you for all of your support on here, ladies. I appreciate you all so much. That said, tomorrow, I thankfully have a day off from work, so I'm thrilled at the thought of getting my DIY on! I've bought some flowers, ribbon, and flower arranging supplies from Michael's, and will attempt to make the bouquets and boutonnieres (inspired by YWS' beautiful DIY flowers). Bought my first paper-cutter that I've been wanting forever - YAY! I may even start tackling our pre-travel brochures as well tomorrow. We'll see. Bought the silver luggage tags from Michael's as well before they were all sold out! Don't know whether these will go out with the pre-travel brochures or go in the OOT bags yet. The resort has made another change with communication and now has me directly in touch with my on-site wedding coordinator, Claudia Fonesca, LOL. So many changes. But at least she said that we didn't have to be there 3 days before... just 2 days before at 10am for our appointment. Yay! Maybe we can book our flights soon now. Loving the updates I viewed tonight... my comments below. xoxo Ummm... yes, yes, YES!!! You go girl --- looks like you women had a blast putting some of the details together. I love your new colors and dresses for the BM's. And the table number picture frames look like the inspirational pic you sent me in the email a while back that you liked. Way to recreate it in your own style!! Can't wait to start working on these details, too. Thinking of you and your dear sweet doggie. I do hope she feels better soon. She has the best Momma to take care of her. Gorgeous ---- and classic. Wish we could see it on you!!!! The lace detail is incredible. Congrats!! It's the company the MP recommends --- MP sent me the info. I appreciate your honesty and integrity in sharing with us your true thoughts and feelings and living by them as well. It's hard to put so much work into something and freely share it with others and then feel a little taken advantage of when others don't give credit/pay it forward. I've felt this way in the past (not on here, but in other areas of life), but haven't had the courage to actually say it. I applaud you and appreciate you. Love you too. Jamie --- I'd love to see them and give you feedback. PM me if you want... I can't open attachments yet! Ta DAA!!! You are absolutely glowing in this beautiful dress. It fits you so well! Are you even going to need alterations? Congrats!! I'm really touched. Truly beautiful, friend. My hairdresser was talking about pintrest last week, and I made a note to check it out. She said you need to be invited to join?! Since I'm like DIY central over here (lol), I'm super interested. Can you PM me and let me know how it works please? Haha, you mad scientist you --- in your DIY lab! Love it! You inspire me so much, YWS!!! The folding welcome letters are so awesome, and I love how the welcome bags and kits look so rich. BTW, your invites look amazing as well. You've been checking some big bad things off your list lately. You go girl! Using you as some inspiration tomorrow when I get down and dirty in my DIY lab - hahahahaha! -

Yay!!! Big check mark. That's one of the next things on our list, too. I'm struggling to find flights where we can fly out about 6am from St. Louis and arrive in Cancun in the morning, so we can make our 12pm check in. Are you doing a symbolic or civil ceremony (sorry if you've already said - I forget!)? Anyone have any tips for flying in the same day you leave and checking in at MP before noon? -
Just so you know, I used mini return address labels on the back of mine (you can see it on one of the pics I posted). I don't think it was the best idea though because I hot glued them on, and some started peeling off. But I think they all remained closed during shipment! The packing tape sounds like a good idea to be sure.

Update: - 1 booking!!!! (Yay!) And another positive RSVP for another couple (which I know will book as well). (Double Yay!) - My trainer says I've lost 10 pounds of fat and gained 3-4 pounds of muscle! Woo hooooo!! Been working my booty off the last few months with this (literally, haha... although not too much since my FI says I can't loose too much back there, LOL)! Happy Planning this week, ladies!! xoxo -

Does anyone have any pictures of Tucan Terrace - with or without cocktail hour set up? Or if anyone has used it already -- how was it? I believe it's right behind the Tucan Beach ceremony site? -

That's what I love about Martial Arts --- it takes the fear away, so you are actually less likely to fight. You feel confident in your safety. But if you felt in danger, you know you could defend yourself well. Good to hear that TKD has boosted your son's confidence! Exciting that you're thinking of joining after the wedding. I'm sure that'd be awesome for you and your son to be doing it together, too. -

Oh, really - they ran out?!? Maybe I should start stockpiling up!! Michael's coupons, here I come, haha! I'm still sort of sorting out our colors; so right now, they are teal, silver, lime, dark blue, and white. The thing is that I also want more natural colors like dark brown and a light sand color... trying to figure it all out! I adore crystals. They make everything look more expensive, hehe. I actually posted a whole bunch of pics about my invites, which are MIB! You can see them on page 138 of this thread. I also saw some pictures of MIBs on here where the company they ordered from engraved the bottles to have their names and wedding date on them, which may be more "elegant" than what I did. I was going for more of a personal feel. You could definitely do white sand and silver shells.... you could even put teal starfish in there I bet! -
I'm actually pretty nervous about the music we want to talk down the aisle to. It's the song "Hello World" by Lady Antebellum. I feel like it's a long song, and it'd also be the song that our whole wedding party enters to. (Depending on the number of guests that come... that may be everyone - LOL!) How do you think the horse and carriage time it with the music so that I arrive right when I want to? (The climax of the song?) Any ideas? Has anyone else done this in their ceremony with success?

Hmmm. For some reason, I have $250 marked down in my budget for iPod set-up. I think I saw somewhere on here that that's how much it costs to have the minimal iPod set-up with speakers. Does anyone else have this info? I was wanting to do the iPod set-up for ceremony and cocktail hour as well. I'm not sure if I'd want a technician or if I'll just have someone from our wedding party press play, etc. I was also considering an extended cocktail hour as well if we have the dinner instead of a reception.

Thanks for this post, Jcoke. I just updated my website to include this info, so now it says: *IMPORTANT NOTE*: If you are NOT a guest of ANY of the Palace Resorts Sites on the day of the wedding you WILL BE required to purchase a Day Pass to have access to the resort. They charge $88/per person for full access to the resort amenities from 7am-11pm (you will not be allowed back on the resort grounds for any reason after the day of the wedding). If you plan on staying off the resort, you need to inform us ASAP because there is a limit to the amount of day passes that the hotel will give out -- anyone over that limit will not be allowed on the resort. How would you suggest I ask the people who book offsite for their $88? We are definitely not going to pay for that. We'll know mid-December our final count for bookings. I was thinking of calling those that booked offsite and asking for them to paypal me or something? Sounds so bad though!!
-
You're right - it isn't fair. Would you mind if I used you as an example after your wedding to say that you were able to do it, so why can't we?? Maybe include pics - LOL? BTW, it's almost time for your special day!!! Thinking of you!! Can't wait to hear how it all was for you when you return. Best wishes and much happiness!!!

Wow, Sophia!!! You have a lot of people that Love you and want to celebrate your special day! How exciting. I agree that doing nice favors would be totally okay instead of doing full out OOT bags for each room. If you go that route, I think it'd be a nice gesture to have a special thank you note in each room when the guests arrive. This way, they still have something special waiting for them saying that you appreciate them coming all that way. (Plus, thank you notes are easy to travel with!) You could still do OOT bags before you leave, for sure. How exciting that you're going to India soon! Visiting India is definitely on my Bucket List. Can't wait to see what wedding wonderfulness you buy there. I'm PMing you the picture I used to print out and decorate!! (Believe it or not, took me hours to find the right one... haha) Got it!!! Simple and effective. Doing it! You seem so sad in memorializing your loved ones for this special day. Sending much Love and prayers your way. xoxox Yes, we absolutely faxed over a copy of our credit card to them (front and back). Feel comfortable that you are in good hands! What package are you doing? -

It's mostly Jungyae Moosul, but it also has some Tae Kwon Do and Chun Kuhn Do. I've been trying it out for like a month and a half and LOVE it. My first paycheck from my new job (since moving) arrives Oct 5, so then the FI and I can look at finances and decide if I can officially sign up to be a student. Crossing my fingers!! Seems like your son has been studying for a bit. I think it's an amazing sport for children to participate in... and really, people of all ages. I think it teaches me as a whole being.... not just a fitness aspect. -

Ooooh, yes ---- don't want anything disturbed. Do you mean drape material on the sides of the chairs lining the aisle (where the petals are)? That way, guests don't enter the chairs that way and keep everything intact? Great suggestion!! Sounds like nighttime is your best productive time! And that work schedule/supplies are also helping you with your DIYs. Gotta run to Martial Arts (I've lost some fat and gained some muscle in the last few months, woo hoo!!).... can't wait to read your PM later. P.S. Made some tweaks to the decorations and will post later... -

Sooo.... after I've totally blown up this thread in the last 20 minutes or so --- I couldn't help myself commenting on all of the exciting progress you all have posted today, l just have to post again. First off, I'm floored by the creativity and generosity of you ladies being willing to share your ideas!! This thread is full of awesome synergy. LOVE it. Inspiring. Secondly, I'm really encouraged because after racking my brain for DAYS on how to decorate for our ceremony (and using lots of printing of beach ceremony templates and colored pencils), I think it's all coming together about what we're going to do! Here's my crude drawing, haha: It's still a rough draft. I may play with the colors a bit more and try silver chair sashes instead of teal, since the bridesmaid dresses are teal, and I don't want it to be too "tealy" lol. We'll only put sashes on the aisle chairs in order to save on cost. The words hanging on the chairs will say "Love is the Treasure of Life." It's the saying we have on our invitation. (I also want to get shepherd's hooks for our cocktail hour and bring the words there to hang. I make some other words, too, for the cocktail hour, and put them in a container, and people can change the wording on the hooks for fun and photos --- kind of like refrigerator magnets... i.e. Just adding a "MY" word to this bunch, you could change the words to say "Love of my Life" and take a picture with them.) In this pic, the words are silver and outlined in blue. I may try to do them in brown instead so that I can hang up the words in one of our rooms when we get home (our home has more natural, earthy colors). The flowers in glass are what they have pictured in the Sapphire collection. I haven't included the judges table yet because I don't know what to put on it. Any ideas or feedback as I'm playing with this? (Btw, I don't know why this smiley man has angry eyebrows. I'm definitely not angry, haha.) Also, this means that I've kind of changed my colors to include lime green!!! I feel very happy about this because now the colors for our flowers are coming together much better, too! Now, my colors are teal, lime green, silver, and dark blue. Feeling very encouraged! Goodnight, lovely ladies! -

LOVE these like crazy!!! You seem like a busy professional woman as well as a great mother and fiance ---- how do you do it all.... do you sleep?? You amaze me. Will PM you on this and the chapsticks --- have some questions! I actually really like the veil --- it looks classic and elegant. Which, from what I gather on your website and postings on here, suit who you are as a person too! Oh no on the PS3!! You were so excited! Seems like the FI learned his lesson! HILARIOUS about your gold card. I'm so jealous!! Michael's is one of my top 3 stores (besides Office Max and Barnes & Noble ---- I'm a huge dork!!!), and I still have a red card! But I've only begun my DIY projects, bwahaha! (LOL) Hope you have a great night with the FI! Can't wait to hear about your decorations soon. -

Really pretty color combo for the flowers! How long did those take you?! I admire you for doing them yourself! Flowers is something I'd definitely feel lost about tackling DIY! Kudos! Are you doing the boutinneres too? Wow, you've collected a lot of items so far for your OOT bags!! What's in the white box? I love the cups that you decorated - very functional and cute. I'm totally going to look in dollar stores now for puzzles for my OOT bags! Great idea! -

I'm so in love with these luggage tags!!!! I saw them at Michael's, and took a pic with my iPhone as a possibility to send out. Now, you've inspired me to actually do it! Cute detail with the gemstone, too. And love the silvery glittery paper! You did a really great job. It inspires me because silver and teal are part of our colors, too. I'm also curious to know if you'll be making your invites! Thanks for sharing.
