  1. Hmmm... all I did was type Moon Palace Restaurants into the search bar, and it's the first one that comes up. It's called The Moon Palace Restaurant Review Thread. Here's the URL... I've never done this on BDW, but hopefully it will lead you to it: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/52868/the-moon-palace-restaurant-review-thread
  2. Thank you! I bought the burlap and fabric from Hobby Lobby. They're called "trading cards." And I just stamped images on them, hot glued those babies, and tied them up! Thanks for the compliments!!
  3. Are we allowed to just do one song and time it out so certain people enter at different times?
  4. My suggestion is to search on here for Moon Palace Restaurants. There's a fabulous thread that lists all kinds of info. And you can make your selection easier then!
  5. So glad to hear that Cesar is adapting to his home so well!! Love the cute outfits he has, hehe. The photobox is GORG!! Might have to make one of those for us with our wedding pics when we return! These are so cute!! I like the goodies you've chosen to put inside them. Your girls will definitely feel special recieving these. So glad you had a fun shower!!! It's great to feel so blessed, isn't it? A little overwhelming... in a good way. So happy to hear that it went well for you. How exciting, Jamie! It's all coming together! What a great feeling. I'm getting married on Tucan beach. If you PM me, I have some pics I can share with you. I hear that receptions and cocktail hours on the beach itself cost extra --- more than it would on a terrace. Hope this helps. I know Michael's up and down, LOL, and I haven't seen them. But I have seen passport covers online, since I was contemplating doing this at one time. Good luck! This whole process can be discouraging at times, but don't worry ---- it will all come together!! We're here for each other! You look absolutely beautiful!!! How incredibly exciting that it's almost time for the BIG DAY!! Can't wait to hear all about it.
  6. First, I used double-sided tape. Then, at the ends, I hot glued them to make sure they stayed together. (My paper is heavy cardstock, so double-sided tape just isn't strong enough.) The twine is actually threaded through the paper, too, so it helps it stay together as well. Good luck on yours!! Hope you post pics!
  7. And, now, possibly the favorite thing I've made so far! Passport Welcome Booklets. THANK YOU to all the brides who have posted their passports and to Beck for her planning tips. This took me AGES, but I love them. I hope our guests do, too! Enjoy. P.S. I apologize for the long post!! There's 24 pages, I think. And there's pages of Spanish & Puzzles, which I didn't post. I felt I was already going overboard posting this, LOL!! xoxo There's 5 pages of this of all our guests. I just posted one to give you the feel.
  8. And ------ drumroll, please ------ the project that's taken me the absolute longest..... the OOT bags + Passport Welcome Booklets (on next post)!! I screenprinted on the logos on these bad boys: Here's a closeup on the tags I made for the bags: (each tag has different charms - seashells, sanddollars, compasses, starfish + an inspiring word like Life, Love, etc.) Here's the bag with the contents: (underwater camera, Oh Sh*t Kit, Door Knob Hanger, Passport Welcome Book, Playing Cards, Key Holder, and cards for our Time Capsule guest book.) Close-up of the key holder: Our Oh Sh*t Kits:
  9. So, the DIY Lab has indeed been "smoking" hot, haha! Love that phrase! Here are some little goodies I've been working on: These will hold our blue and white petals in, which guests will toss at the end of the ceremony, and will go in the sand in front of each chair on the beach. The heart tag says "Love." I had these stamps already for other projects and thought --- why not buy napkins for $2.50 and stamp them quickly for an added personal touch for the cocktail hour?
  10. Oh, Coco --- I forgot ---- how EXCITING that Cesar arrives tomorrow!!! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear about his arrival!
  11. SummerDawn - Sending you prayers and Love with the loss of your Nana. I wish you and your family strength during this challenging time. To honor my Grandpa that died recently, I incorporated his picture in a locket that hangs from my bridal bouquet. I just printed out the picture and stuck it in an old locket I had (my Something Old). LadyDi - I agree with the ladies that have already said that if you don't feel comfortable with the fuscia/coral combo, then I'd kindly ask her to continue your search until you're both happy. There are SO many dresses out there. I know she'll find the perfect one that you both love! ChipmunkRN - So sorry to hear about your Best Man ditching on you guys. I was in a similar situation with my Maid of Honor 3 months before our wedding. I was extremely hurt, and it was a big deal for me to share my true feelings with her about it. I let her know that I wished that I could just accept that she wasn't going to go without it hurting our friendship, but that it would affect our friendship. We had a few talks after that (and many tears), and finally we saw it from each other's perspective and came to a Win/Win. I'm just telling you that because I can relate. What an absolute bummer. My best wishes for this situationw with you. On a brighter note -- your Passport invites turned out awesome!! I'd be SO pumped to recieve that. Especially with the palm tree seal!
  12. Thank you! They are --- from Michael's. Happy that you had to ask!! hehe.
  13. I've also completed the gifts for my bridesmaids and thought I'd share these as well in case they help someone! Contents: Thank You Card + Gifts: Barefoot jewelry by Red-i by Chelsea, Pink bridesmaid rhinestone tank (which we'll all wear these the morning of while we're getting ready), and wedding day emergency kit bag) The outside of their gift box. Fits everything except for their Coach flip flops to go with their dresses for the wedding day. So in love with these cards I made!! Have them for our parents as well for their OOT bags --- with special poems in.
  14. Centerpieces = DONE!!!! Yaaaay! I'm so pumped about them. Got the idea from Coconoir to use blumeboxes --- they fold flat and are ideal for packing. The bridal and bridesmaids bouquets will just pop right in them when it's time for cocktail hour. Then, we'll use them on our table in the restaurant for our reception dinner. I'm actually excited to take these babies home after the wedding and use them for flowers in our office, too! Front view: Side view: Back view: (meaningful Love quotes) Got to use my Crop-a-Dile Big Bite tool to do eyelets for the first time! yaaay!
  15. One more checkmark off the list --- our shells and chest for the ceremony. Here are pics and some of our ceremony script so you can understand what they're for. So excited about this!! ** And of course, the charm on the chest is a compass! ** During the welcome/intro of the ceremony, the officiant will say: Each of your family members and friends here today has chosen a shell that not only represents their unique individuality and their presence at your wedding today but also has a meaningful word on it that represents a value you’d like to honor in your marriage together. You also each have a shell of your own that symbolizes your previous separate lives, separate sets of friends, separate families, and the different life’s journeys that you once traveled. I ask that everyone hold this shell throughout the ceremony. Fill your shell with positivity, prayer, wishes, and blessings of good will for Casey and Tammy… for the future of their marriage. Later, after the vows and rings have been exchanged, the officiant will say: We will now pause to collect the shells that have been blessed with good fortune. The union of these shells has now symbolically joined your once separate lives. Through you, just as the shells have been combined, so now are your friends and family joined. Your once solitary life’s paths are also now one, and all that was once separate is now shared. In this sharing, you both will find new strength and joy as together you forge a new life path. Shells stand the test of time. Over time they can even become stronger and more beautiful. Let these shells be a reminder and a memorial of the love, blessings and support that your family members and friends have provided you here today. The chest will be filled with sand with the shells on top.
  16. My guests and us used the wedding link as well, and I think you just have to make your guests aware of the perks. I didn't see it listed on there. I posted them on our website.
  17. Yes, at first, my coordinators said I couldn't use them for Spa Credit, but I emailed Karla Estrada as well, and I have it in writing from her that it's ok. I booked it all and everything with her.
  18. By the way, ladies --- if you haven't gotten any fun Honeymoon wear, Victoria's Secret is having an AMAZING sale right now!! I got 3 awesome lingerie sets (worth like $70 a piece) for around $10-$15 each! Just FYI! May want to check it out if you have the day off today.
  19. Hi ladies!! I haven't been on here in WEEKS, and you all are doing some beautiful planning. To all those of my fellow DIYers who have posted your projects - BRAVO! Loved them all!!! My bachelorette party in AZ was an absolute blast. I had a girly day with my MOH and we got our blow out and style for our hair and then went to Sephora and had a full face makeover. Loved that! Then, we painted our nails and the girls came over to her house. All took a taxi to a great sushi place in downtown Scottsdale that is also a bar/club at night. Then, we went to one of my favorite clubs there and danced for like 4 hours straight!! No drama, all fun, and the girls were totally into it for a good time. They said it was the best bachelorette party they'd been to! Bridal shower was fantastic as well! My girls and Mom did a fabulous job planning. The theme was Mexican Christmas (since it was on Dec 28), and we had Mexican food, decorations, and they even made me wear a decorated sombrero, LOL! Fun games, great gifts, it was fantastic. And - dun, dun, dun, DUN! We got married at the courthouse on the 27th!! We still occasionally joke and put in the "wife" or "husband" word to each other and then say, "Shhhhh!" Since it's a secret. And we don't want to take away from our big day in Mexico! But that was really special. My Granny, who is 90 and definitely could not travel to Cancun, was there and it was wonderful. I'll always have her signature on our marriage certificate! And Gran and I went out to one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate afterwards (Casey had to go straight to the airport to fly back home for work). YAY!!! All that said, I've still been DIYing my tooshie off and will post more projects soon. For now, I'll post some pics of the FABULOUSLY STUNNING jewelry that Chelsea from Red-I made me that I adore to pieces!!! I had my 2nd fitting for my dress today (will post these pics, too), and the jewelry matches perfectly!! To anyone wondering what jewelry they will wear on their wedding day, or if you're thinking of buying your bridesmaids their jewelry for a gift, I can't recommend Chelsea enough. She's been the most enjoyable part of this whole wedding process for me! Professional, extremely savvy with her work, and a joy to work with! Thanks, Chelsea! <3 Enjoy! Will post more pics soon. Only 35 more days until the Big Day for me!!! My earrings, bracelet, and foot jewelry are on the left. The three foot jewelry sets on the right are gifts for my girls. My foot jewelry! Maid of Honor's foot jewelry Bridesmaids foot jewelry Bridesmaids & MOH's foot jewelry have charms like this on the back (but these aren't their actual jewelry... pic off Chelsea's website) So these are my accessories for the wedding! (Chelsea didn't make my hairpiece.) Me in my dress and Red-I by Chelsea jewelry!! (Wish the lighting was better!) Back of my dress bussled up - the train is 6 feet. May post a pic of this after my next fitting. Will have to cut the cords of the corset the day of!
  20. Like these two ladies, we are also getting married in the states. Our reason was so my Granny could be includes in our wedding somehow. But I'm thankful we decided on this because I was also concerned about this. Also, I think it will save us about $500 to get marries beforehand and have a symbolic ceremony. Only 8 days until we legally tie the knot!
  21. So, I completed our special door hangers for the Bridal & Groom Suites & our Bride & Groom Door Hanger, hehe. Couldn't resist sharing!
  22. The dresses and women look fabulous, Jamie!! Great taste!! Woo hoo!
  23. Shakespeare is TOO cute!! Looks like Jeremiah was in his 7th heaven. BTW, I think it's fantastic that you're bringing a puppy home for your son. As a child, I always wanted a puppy, and I feel that most children want one. There's something about really learning how to take care of an animal that helps you grow and become a better person. What an amazing gift for your son and your family.
  24. The DIY lab was open tonight (haha, YWS)... here's a peek at the first sample of my next project: I'm still getting used to the circle cutter, so this one was a bit rough looking. Practice makes perfect!! Thanks to Coconoir for the door hanger template! I got the ideas for the sayings from different forums on here about door hangers. The DIY lab will be open all weekend!! LOL!
