  1. You get one centerpiece but also the medalians (or whatever they are called) that you get for the ceremony can be centerpieces after the ceremony. We had one long table at our reception so we ended up with 3 arrangements on the table and that was all included in the package.
  2. I HIGHLY recommend Gonzalo Nunez. He was very reasonable and his work is amazing. He was the best decision I made regarding our wedding!
  3. Yes! This is what I wanted but I had to please my parents and have a reception back home. That is the only thing I would change about my wedding!
  4. I was the exact same way with my wedding. We only had 15 others that came (that included my 3 little nephews) and even that was a struggle to get them to come! My family was not very supportive of our destination wedding and basically complained about it the whole time. I had one friend come and my husband didn't have any friends come! It sucked that no one would make the trip considering my husband has traveled several times for other people. My parents made us have a reception back home and a lot of people used that as an excuse to not come to Mexico (which I wasn't happy about!) In the end, I know that it was exactly what I wanted and I don't regret it at all. You will have a great time and a beautiful wedding whether you have 100 people there or just 2 people there!
  5. I did not pay for music during the cocktail hour but the bartender did have some music playing for us. The package includes the setup for the music during the ceremony. I made a cd prior to going down with the music I wanted just incase they didn't have it. I told them what songs at what time and they took care of everything.
  6. If you have over $300 worth of stuff I recommend giving your friends and family some stuff to travel with so you don't go over the $300 and have to pay tax. I gave everyone in my group some stuff to pack for me!
  7. If you use the spa I would highly recommend bringing your own makeup. I am sure what they have is fine but I took my own and am happy I did.
  8. I don't remember what makeup they had...I showed her picture of what I wanted and gave her the makeup that I had that I wanted her to use...she used her eyeshadows and liner instead of what I had. I usually wear a good bit of makeup and I probably could have just done it myself because when I went back to the room I fixed my eyeshadow and liner a little bit. As long as you have a picture she can work with you should be okay but if you are like me, you will probably want to fix it. I am glad I did a trial so I knew what to expect. I wasn't too happy after my trial and that was the only wedding melt down I had but I was about to fix it to make it more what I wanted which was good the day of the wedding! Also, since I paid nothing for it I can't complain. I had thought about paying A LOT of money for an outside makeup and hair person but I know how I am and know that I probably wouldn't have been super happy with that either so I am glad that I didn't pay the money. I swapped the transfers...she had told me that I would have to pay for the trial makeup but the hair would be free because I told her I didn't need the private transfers. When I got to the salon I told the guy at the desk to talk to Pilar about the price because I was told I only had to pay for one (he tried telling me that it wouldn't be free.) When I went back the next day for the wedding he said he talked to Pilar and I didn't owe anything so I just tipped the lady both days. I would try to push the swapping...Pilar never gave me an issue about swapping anything.
  9. I used the resorts and she was okay. I did do a trial the day before so she knew what I wanted. I am VERY picky about my hair and makeup so I fixed it a little when I got back to my room but considering that I didn't have to pay for the either the trial and the day of I have no complaints! I brought a lot of my own makeup because I wasn't sure what they would have.
  10. I only had 17 people there for our wedding but I would say do not increase the cake...not worth it and there is more there for 25 people anyways. I didn't even get any of the food at the cocktail hour because we were off doing stuff or just too busy talking with people but I have heard that there is enough food there for about double what they say so I would think you shouldn't have to increase the food for the cocktail hour. Once you talk to Pilar it will ease your mind I promise! I didn't get charged for a good bit of extras that she told me I would. Final suggestion - no on the cake; probably no for the cocktail hour also!
  11. I can't remember exactly how many songs I sent him but it might have been around 20.
  12. I bet that you won't pay the day fee for the photographer...mine came 2 days and I didn't pay for either day even though she quoted me that price before I arrived there. I wouldn't stress too much about it!
  13. Pilar put me in touch with the DJ a few weeks before the wedding. He sent me a form to fill out with the songs I wanted played. They played everything I requested and a few more. My nephew wanted a certain song played that he didn't have so my sister gave them her ipod to use but I also think that he downloaded it right there. Unless you want to pay an additional fee per person it is best to let her know ahead of time. I think it is something ridiculous like $25/person to let them pick the day of the wedding.
  14. I never thought to ask them and I gave my guests 3 options to choose from and the kids had 2 options to choose from. They never gave me a problem about the food.
  15. You will not be charged for your own linens. I brought table runners and wasn't charged. I was quoted $40 for hanging the paper lanterns that I brought but I was never charged that.
  16. Congrats on your wedding!! I suggest the beach bar for the cocktail hour. It is right next to the Pergola and it is kind of seperated so you would have more privacy than some of the other options for the cocktail hour. I used fuschia and green for my colors and I loved it because it was bright and fun! I say go for purple...it will look great with the beach and ocean backdrop!
  17. She quoted me at $40 for setting our paper lanterns up but never charged us for it. This seems to be pretty typical.
  18. We booked an ocean front suite and when we checked in we were given the upgrades to the preferred side we just didn't stay on the preferred side. Our room was on the regular side of the resort but we received all of the amenities of the preferred side. Some people might not have liked that but we were totally fine with it! I didn't care that we weren't on the preferred side.
  19. I had paper lanterns for our wedding. I was originally supposed to have our reception on the terrace and they will hang them for you however you want. Yes they will have someone there for the ceremony to play the music for you.
  20. I will say that it would be nice to have the bar right there BUT I will agree that getting a drink was never an issue at my wedding. They kept the drinks coming all night and no one ever even had to ask for a drink. I personally think that you should save the money and not have a private bar but that is just me! Trust me, no one will be without a drink whether the bar is right there or not!
  21. I gave my guests 3 options...I never thought to ask Pilar how many they get. There is a vegetarian menu so you can probably pick one or two from there and they 2 or 3 from the regular menu. Pilar never said anything when I turned in our guest count and what each guest was eating. Plus I had 3 children and they had something different from everyone else.
  22. I brought the paper lanterns with me and I was quoted $40 for them to hang them but I wasn't charged for it. It would be best to bring your own decor but they will add some stuff if they feel it needs something. Hope this helps!
  23. I would check with Pilar but I would think that you would be spilling out into the walkway. We had ours at the beach bar and it was spacious and they block it off so no one else can come down. I liked the look of the orange lounge but it was pretty small.
  24. I do not have any pics of the orange lounge but basically what you see in their pictures is what you get. It is a very small area located right along the walk way to some of the restaurants and to the pergola. The decor is nice but again it is very small. How many people do you plan on having with you?
  25. I highly recommend using an outside photographer! I used Gonzalo Nunez - he was fantastic and was very reasonably priced. I could not be happier with my decision!
