Well ladies, I will be on a plane to Jamaica in less than 12 hours!!!! I am so excited. I will write a review once I get back after two lovely weeks in the sun. Thank you to all the awesome advice and tips and helpful ladies on here. AHHHHH I cant beleive I will be married in less than 5 days!!!!!! It kind of just crept up on me. Any last minute tips??( not sure that I would get them though before I left, as I leave for the airport in 7 hours, not sure if I will even go to bed lol) Ciao for now!

Hey ladies, I was just wondering you input on something. I am hiring Rashel Edwards, the freelance makeup artist, and her hairdresser. And I was wondering how much I should tip her. They are doing hair and makeup for six of us. I spoke with my friend who is a hairdresser, and she said because it is her own business and not out of a spa, that I shouldnt be tipping her. But I think that the hairdresser is working under Rashel, so I dont know how I would go about tipping them. The bill is just over $1000. Thanks ladies for your input

So I had emailed Chandlynn asking what the vows were and I recieved them back and they are SUPER religious, and I am not okay with using them. I emailed her back asking if the minister had to use those vows to make it legal, and I didnt really get a straight answer back. What did previous brides do that didnt want to use the religous vows provided by the resort? Here is what she sent me: Vow Script Who gives this woman to be married to this man? We have rented out the pisces privately for our reception. I have heard that there can be alot of bugs there, but we are going to have a basket there for guests with mosquito spray and wipes just in case. When you book the picses that includes the dj for two hours, in the $1700 rental fee. We plan on bringing our own music for dinner and the reception on an ipod and a back up cd just in case. Im not sure if the dj will introduce etc, I dont see why not. We have asked one of my unlces to MC, hopefully he agrees(hes a little nervous, lol, but we told him he only has to introduce us when we come in and our first dance pretty well). I also asked Chandlynn if they have a venue set up if it rains, and she said yes, there is a seperate venue booked our just in case. It looka like a beautiful venue, I cant wait!!! 13 days till we leave!!

Can anyone recommend a certain "block" or building to stay in, I have heard the 23 is the newest, but it is also the farthest from everything. Also, I have been trying to get personolized "do not disturb" door hangers from vista print,but i cant find then anywhere on their website. Anyone ever find them before? I just came home from our big family Christmas dinner tonight, and everyone is counting down the days, and is soo excited, 2 weeks before we leave!!!!! OMG!!! I feel like there is too much to do before we leave. I know everyone says not to worry about anything before you go, but t feels like there is still alot to do!! Ahhhhh!!!!! I'm trying to get everything that I need online in the next couple of days so that it gets to me in time. I want to get some more bathing suits off of Victoria Secret, but they rake you over the coals with shipping and taxes!

Just wondering where any of the past brides have order their paper lanterns from? I found what I think may be a good deal online at the paperlanternstore.com. 12" paper lanterns for 1.20. The only thing that I am worried about is the shipping and duty. The shipping is about $25, and I am worried of what the duty might end up as. Has anyone ordered them from any place in Canada at a good price? Or anyone order from ebay, and what kind of duty you may have paid. I think I may have fallen a little behind on ordering some things, alot of the stuff on ebay is from china and takes about 30-40 days to get here, and I am getting married in just over a month, so some of those places may not be an option for me anymore Thanks ladies

Thanks JayKay! Futurekeese, I was thinking the same thing, but I would be to scared that anything would go "missing" or never make it there, or get misplaced. I dont know who you are flying with but my travel agent told me about something called kilo-flex, in which you purchase weight before you leave, so you arent paying through the nose when you get to the airport. You would just have to pre pack all of your stuff and see how much all of it weighs. Hope this helps!

Hi everyone, we are getting married in three months at GBP, I am getting sooo excited, but so nervous. I feel like I have a million things to do. I work up north in Alberta and I work 21 days straight and am only home for 7 days out of the month. Its been crazy busy trying to spend time with the fiance while im home and see friends and family and still get stuff done for the wedding.I have some questions for all you helpful ladies: We have booked the pisces, I am wondering if anyone else has had their wedding there and if they have any pictures. Also I thought I saw someone mention that there is a videographer? Are they at the resort? Are they very pricey? Does anyone have any pictures of the bouquets that they let you choose from or a catalogue? I have emailed Chandlynn about this but have not heard back. I kind of would like to have my bridesmaids with parasols, but Im not too sure if it would be too windy for those, or to have them do flowers? AHHHHH , sorry for all of the questions, I am so happy to have the help and advice from all of the brides on here. Oh, also we just got our engagements photos back and they are absolutely amazing, so happy with them, if I figure out how to post pics on here I will share. No, it was only $1700 and that price includes it being private for dinner and ur reception. I was set on having a semi private dinner at the dolce and then renting out the gazebo, but it will be nice to not have to move everyone from from spot to another.

I just sent out all of my invitations last week, and have been getting texts and phone calls left, right and center about how amazing they turned out. Everyone absolutely loved them. It took alot of love and time to put them together, but was totally worth it. I will post some pictures of them soon! We also confirmed the Pisces for our wedding we are renting it out completely for the night.

Oh no! That would be stressful for sure. but it sounds like it all worked out and you will get there earlier. Do you get there earlier because the flight leaves so much earlier than it was originally supposed to? I had asked my TA if we had to go through TO how Long would the flight be, and she said 11 hours rather than 7 as a direct flight from Edmonton. How long does this change now make your flight going from Van Via TO to Jamaica?
