Another thing, my FI and I bought our wedding rings yesterday! I am so excited! Josh isn't completely thrilled about wearing a ring since he's not big on jewelry (is any man?) and we even tossed around the idea of him tattooing a ring on his finger instead, but I couldn't budge on it. I really wanted him to have one. So I made it my one required thing for him since he required that I change my last name (which I planned on anyway). Too bad I don't get to wear it for another seven months.. oh well.

Oh and yes, I do realize I spelled "perforated" wrong on the RSVP ticket. LOL, I was so excited to see it on paper that I forgot to fix it.

Hi friends! I've been MIA as well. It's been so crazy at work this month that all I've had the chance to do is glance at postings here and there. I've been dying to post some replies, but the minute I try, someone at work is piling stuff for me to do. Lol, stupid work actually expects me to work while I'm there... Short story, I manage a bank and noticed that one of my employees have been stealing thousands of dollars from us. What a mess. But at least I've got it sorted out and it's in the FBI's hands now The only thing I've been working on are my boarding pass invites. Thanks to a few designs I've found on this forum from other lovely brides, here is the design printed on normal paper. The final will be printed on white cardstock, corner punched and all, and I'll be making blue packets for them. I wanted to get some of your opinions before I finalize and print and cut 100 of them (sorry about the bad quality, this was taken with my phone). I'll take better pictures when they are all set and done. Anyway, I know I'm way behind but here is my attempt to go back a few pages and comment... Ha what a coincidence! How awkward would that have been?? My ex would be the last person I'd want to run into during my wedding week. Oh my, I've collected so many inspiration pictures that I absolutely had to get a Pinterest.com account to organize them all (you should check it out if you haven't already, there are some awesome inspiration pictures there). Here are a couple of the recent ones I've found. The last one isn't really about the decorations, I just like the beach balls. I think my guests would have fun with that one

Wow what a good feeling! I just posted something on the MP 2011 thread, but I have a concern with more than 20% of my guests possibly booking at other resorts. It sounds like all your guests are booking at MP, you lucky girl... any advice for how I can get more of my guests to consider MP as opposed to other resorts?

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me how strick MP is about the 20% guest passes thing? I sent out my STDs a few weeks ago and I'm starting to hear that some of our guests are booking other resorts and just purchase wedding day passes, which is fine with me if it will save them money but I'm now worried more than 20% of my guests will be at other resorts as I know at least 7 or 9 guests have told me they are using timeshares. They are all fine with purchasing their own guest passes, but I would hate to think I can't get these people into my wedding Can anyone share their experiences or give any advice? I am also thinking of putting something on my website that tells guests they need to book at MP, but I don't want to push too much and require it. Any advice on how I should word it? Thanks so much.

I actually mean paying for one room, but putting it under both their names. One single room under Gonzalo's (my photographer) name is going to be $334. But one double room under his and Sara's names will be $370. In the end it's only going to be a $55 savings, but I guess that's the frugal side of me that my FI would be so proud of, lol

So... I've been thinking about this for awhile. I know some of us want to possibly hire someone to do our hair and makeup other than using the resort but are worried about the cost since we'll have to get them a day pass. I'm looking into Sara Tamargo. In my case, I'll probably end up paying for a room for my photographer anyway so I'm wondering... do you think I can get away with booking a double room under my photographer's name and Sara's so that she can get in the resort as my guest? That way I'm pretty much shooting two birds with one stone. What do you ladies think?

Speaking of getting married before or after Mexico, I remember reading in my contract that a marriage certificate was one of the documents I need to have when I get to the resort. We were planning on getting married before anyway, but I don't understand why it was listed if we have the option to get married after... can anyone clarify?

What is everyone doing for DJ services? I know MP's vendor is quite expensive but I'm not sure buying a DJ a room for the night will fly with the resort like I am doing for my photographer. Is there anyone who is trying to use an external DJ and how are you getting them into the resort?

Lucy took a few days to answer me because she had to ask someone, so I'm hoping she just asked the wrong person and got an incorrect answer. I'm going to wait it out a few more days and I know she goes on vacation anyway, so I think I'll ask her to double check since I've heard of a few brides getting permission to use them. Worst case scenario, I'll ask again when my official WC gets assigned to me. Let me know what you find out. I hope it works out for us!
