A FEW MORE QUESTIONS: We planned on treating everyone to some kind of retreat or excursion on the trip. With all the bad news coming out of Mexico lately I'm very upset i even chose Mexico, but its too late to change that. Recently i read a story of a charter bus excursion from a Mexican resort that was hijacked with machine guns and robbed for their money and jewelry. Fortunately no one was hurt. However this just puts such a bad taste in my mouth... excursions and activities booked with a charter group are supposed to be safe, but nowadays its a crap shoot. So my question is to anyone who has recently returned from their wedding and did something similar to this or anyone planning on doing this. A snorkeling trip, a booze cruise, swimming with the dolphins, etc. IF SO, who did you book through and what was the cost? We're looking for something fun, affordable, and safe that we can treat our guests to and spend a nice day together. MY SECOND QUESTION: Is their an on site barber for the resort? We are going a few days before the wedding just like mostly everyone, and on the wedding day the groom and groomsmen are going to either need a shape up or a haircut! The group of guys are very particular about their barber, and we have even contemplated flying him down with us, but increasing flight costs are getting out of control! Have any grooms out there dealt with this? THANKS!

this site is crazy when it comes to posting links or downloading content... i tried to post 2 links to frames for the sand ceremony that everyone was asking about.. we actually ended up buying one for $70 on etsy... ALSO what DJ has anyone here used, and what were your thoughts? AVI or VISUALSOUND are our only two options and I'm trying to nail down the details.... thanks!

was wondering a few things as well... what are the songs you guys used for entrances? what shoes are the bride/bridesmaids groom/groomsmen wearing? (was thinking flats with a starfish but cannot find for the girls and just regular sandals for the guys) what are you guys having the men wear? (thinking tan linens, white shirts, groom in a vest) ALSO could someone forward me that spreadsheet that you have been talking about? just curio... [email protected] thanks!

I'm getting pretty frustrated with the resort... its hard to communicate with them and just get basic information... maybe you guys can help me with some questions. they finally just emailed me the "questionnaire" for our wedding and also Anel contacted me directly for photography, which is good. how many guests per table? trying to figure out how many centerpieces and table cloths etc I'm going to need. anyone going with their dj or just doing your own thing for music and renting their sound setup? they ask me to provide 3 songs for the ceremony... any suggestions? looking for suggestions on websites for... rose petals, chair bows, FABRIC FOR THE GAZEBO (their prices are nuts for that) location for the cocktail hour? they ask this but give no options. they say basic round or square 1 tier wedding cake... yet send no pics... is it really that basic? should i look into an outside vendor? thanks! as i think of more ill post as they pop up

i havent had any communication with the resort. ive booked the date/package and room accomodations with my travel agent. should i be in email contact with the wedding coordinator or resort for anything? if so can someone please give mt the email addresses of who i should be in contact with? thanks joe

how do i get in touch with the resort? i currently have a travel agent and feel like she is not getting the job done. i feel like i have so many questions and need answers. i would really like to talk to someone at the resort about group rates for our wedding week. i already gave them a deposit to reserve the wedding date(through our travel agency) but have so many more questions.... is anyone doing the whole planning without a TA and just through direct contact with the resort? right now all we have is a date (aug 7th 2012) and a request for the gazebo and pool deck. so many guests are asking questions about prices to stay there and i want to make sure i have found them the best rate before telling anyone prices. the travel agent has given us rates based on the length of each guests stay (based on double occupancy) so frustrated thanks

i was under the impression that kids were free as well, however trying to iron out prices with my TA she said kids 2-12 are an additional cost... this is really all starting to add up fast. not to mention the incredibly high $600 round trip flight cost per person. I'm wondering if I'm making the wrong choice and if i should some how ask for my deposits back if this is possible.

It seems like all the photo and video that come included in the ultimate package are all from the ceremony and not the reception. Is this why we should definitely hire our own photographer? So we make sure we get pics of before during and after the ceremony along with the cocktail hour and reception.

hi everyone my name is nikki and my fiance is joe and we got engaged a little less then a month ago. we always knew we wanted a destination wedding and now its time to figure out how to do that. etiquette and how-to are the big issues. we are pretty set on bahamas because of the length of the flight being nice and short from nj. (future mother in law is scared to fly) we know there are some things we definitly want to do and have so it shouldnt be too hard... i think. how do we invite people... we know we are going to have some kind of informal bbq or dinner after the destination wedding because of all the no's we expect for travel.so do we send an invitation that has the destination info and the home party all in one? do we ask people to come the week before the wedding and then leave after the wedding while we stay an extra week for our honeymoon? we would love everyone to arrive together, have a welcome dinner, spend the week together, then treat everyone to a catamaran cruise one day of the trip as well as a rehersal type dinner the night before the wedding. those are 2 of the main things we cannot figure out so far. i guess we just pick a place, call them and ask them to arrange everything we want and need? thanks...first of many... hope you guys can help! nikki
