Thank you! I felt the same way about my shower. All the games they did play though were pretty simple. I am really glad they did not embarass me at all. It really wasn't bad. It was just like a dolled up lunch.

I figured they still had them online. they have them at the VS stores around my house.

These pics are awesome. I do like how the starfish standup in the sand better. I wouldn't want the first ppl that get there to mess it all up. I feel they have to stand on their own so the guest can pull their starfish out without displacing the others.

So, my family insisted on a shower. It was on the patio of a cute little restraunt near my house yesterday. I really did not want it. I didn't feel like I deserved any of it and i hate the games that are always played. BUT I am really glad we had one. It was really nice to be able to get together with everyone and simply get really excited for the wedding. I do think alot of ppl would have been dissapointed if we didn't have one. There were other reasons i liked it too. There were a few ppl i had in mind that i wanted to ask if they would make cookies for the reception. This was a great opportunity to ask them in person, rather than over the phone. Best of all, I finally announced that we are expecting some little feet! Everyone was soooo excited : ) I just finished all the thank you cards....

not at all!!! I do think it would be cuter if you were shorter than him for the ceremony. My FI is alot shorter than me but i thought about finding some heels simply for some shots of me alone. Still not sure if that's a lil crazy

Ok so my first major DIY project after the invitations are the starfish escort tags. I am trying to explain this idea to my FI and my dad so they can help, but i cannot find the pics on here that inspired me to begin with. I would like to print the names along with table number on the card stock, hole punch it and tie to the starfish. Then the starfish will stand up in a sand box. Does anyone have any advice for how to make these awesome? I really need an example pic of the sandbox so I can show my dad. He does not have any clue what i am saying so he doesnt know what to build. Thanks!

I looked for a long time and i ended up ordering (and over paying) for starfish and shells from beachthemedweddingshop.com I later found out that orientaltrading.com was ALOT cheaper.

Good! you should be excited. oh hey I just realized we are date twins. love it so much : ) That's awesome you have so much done already. I still feel like I have a ton to do. We had less than six mo. from time of engagement to the wedding. We are pretty much planning two weddings cuz of 200 ppl AHR. That has been the most time consuming thing. Since getting preggers i have been so tired. All i want to do is lay on the couch so alot of my DIY projects are slow going : ( Can't wait to get some energy back.

IMO forget her. I do agree with you that she wanted to be kicked out. Thats how ppl work. They dont want to be the one to back out, they want to put it on you. I would not give her any deposits back. I would not contact her AT ALL anymore. NO TEXT NO EMAIL NO ONE ON ONE and most of all NO MAKE UP DOWN THE LINE. Save yourself the stress, drama and heartache. I will say that ppl get easily annoyed by someone else planning their wedding. For us it is the biggest thing going on in our lives at the moment. Yet, if we say more than three sentances about it ppl think we are self centered ect. Thats just the way it is. Don't let it get to you. I read a piece of advice a while back that has been INCREDIBLY helpful to me being less stressed about my DW. (I know your mum is an exception to this).....Don't worry about who is to attend the DW. Send out the invites and let it play out. If ppl can't make it, they can't make it. Don't stress over it. I wish you the best. I hope you are strong enough to simply remove yourself from them and the situation they have put you in. If i were you I would not even mention her name when it comes to the actual wedding day.

I just ordered my barefoot jewels from Redibychelsea : ) She is great! Beautiful work and really easy to work with. They should be coming in the mail soon. Mine were only fifty but i am not sure what it would be to Canada. I highly recommend her though!

I had never heard of first look photos before this thread. I fell in love with the idea. Yet after discussing it with my FI, we decided we didn't want to spoil that jaw-droppping walking down the aisle moment. So, I found another way to do it! We hired a photographer (kelley) for our engaement pics and AHR. We have a different suit/ wedding dress for AHR so we can do it then : ) All of the flowergirls and moms will be at my house getting hair and make-up done, as well as myself, while Kelley takes pics. My FI will be getting ready at his brothers house. We are having a photoshoot before the AHR with flowergirls, their parents, and our close family members. I have taken into consideration what others have said about not having other ppl standing around watching the first look moment as it makes it awkward. So I think the plan will be for me to leave with Kelley to go to the photoshoot venue before all others show up. My FI will meet us there for the magical moment. Then, we will finish the shoot and all head to the reception together. I'm getting so excited!

I don't have pics to share yet, but Roan Robinson has been awesome so far. He is based out of Negril. He is coming to Ocho Rios for our wedding. We will leave after the ceremony to a great location overlooking the ocean for sunset pics. Then we have a TTD session scheduled during our honeymoon in Negril. I can't wait. He was very patient answering all my questions, and we still chat on FB all the time. The best part is he costs alot less than the other photographers down there cuz he is up and coming. I'll post pics when we get them!
