  1. You are such a stunning bride!! I can't wait to read your review!! What time was your ceremony at? Which beach? How was the wind? Did you need to get speakers for the CD player?

  4. Canadian was beaten in the Mazatlan region in Mexico. Just to note to prepare any brides out there going to that area and other DW brides doing to Mexico (to prepare also for family or friends who may reference this) The incident happened at The Hotel Riu Emerald Bay. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/01/22/mexico-canadian-beaten.html?cmp=rss
  5. Hi there!! We're having our ceremony on Tucan Beach. There is no limit how many people/guests can come if you decide to have it on the beach. Not sure about reception though in the pdf they sent me, the beach was not listed as a reception option. We are having our cocktail hour on Tucan Terrace (next to the beach). I know several ladies have had their reception there too!
  6. Ladies, where is a good place to order those button down t-shirts?
  7. Freaking AMAZING!!! Look at all that progress!! You've inspired me to start mine! I don't think I'll have enough pages in my passport to do all those (maybe just guest's faces) and a separate brochure for all the info!! WOW!
  8. I found my bouquet!!! I wanted something whimsy but not all over brooches!~

  10. I'm from Toronto! I am using Beach Bum Vacations and it's free!! The TAs there have great reps and I can vouch that they have been amazing (so far). Will give full review after our wedding!!
  11. Hey Ladies, I'm trying to put together our playlist... I sent Janina an email (and she is usually fabulous with response time) but she totally did not understand my email LOL. Can someone help me out? This was my email. Her responses are in blue. Good morning Ms. ___________, I believe there is an additional charge for a sound system, I think is around $300. Below are the other answers Regards Janina Hi Janina, I've been watching some videos of ceremonies at Moon Palace (both in the chapel and on the beach). It seems as though the judge/officiant has a mike and the audience can hear him very well, however when the couple says "I Do" there is no sound. Is there a solution to this problem? Also, I notice with music there are different locations for song change. Please correct me if the following list is wrong: - Prelude (guests seated) ? - Processional (bridal party walks down the aisle) and Carriage arrives at the same time. No the bride maids are and guests arrive first at the ceremony location and then you come in the horse drawn carriage. - Bridal walk - Signing documents (is 2 songs length at least) is one song at the time you walk down the isle, I was told is really short. - Post Ceremony song (for champange) no music - Recessional (couple walks back to be sent off by guests) everyone including wedding couple will walk to the event location, we also have golf carts passing by the area that can take the guests and you. Is this correct?
  12. Hey ladies, I've been watching some videos of weddings at MP (both beach and chapel). I noticed that the officiant has a mike to speak through but the bride and groom don't when they actually say their "I Do"... is this something to look into?
  13. No idea what will look good on my petite tomboyish mom. =(
  14. Also I read on a review on Tripadvisor that someone was able to use their resort credit on a limo to take them back to the airport. Can anyone confirm this?!
  15. Has anyone heard any bad press about the Palace Resorts lately? I've had one family member comment about a "recent killing" on one of the buses enroute to a resort... I've tried Googling but nothing came up. I'm wondering if this family member is grasping at straws and just trying to guilt me or something...
  16. Is anyone else out there having a destination wedding and using an alternative to the ring bearer pillow? I saw these on Etsy and fell head over heels in love!! I just about died when I saw the price of these were around the $40 USD mark (not including shipping to Canada). So I decided to make this a DIY project. + http://www.etsy.com/listing/74610414/nautilus-shell-ring-bearer-pillow?ref=sr_gallery_5&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=nautilus+ring+pillow&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade What I did: I ordered a large (5 - 6 inch) Nautilus shell off Ebay (cost $16 CDN) + $10 shipping to Canada. For US brides, it might be a lot cheaper!! After that, I stopped at my local Fabricland and bought half a meter of satin fabric. This was WAAAAAY more than I needed. I think I only really needed a foot MAXIMUM. But half a meter cost me $2CDN, so it wasn't bad. I purchased stuffing for $0.50CDN (again, didn't use all of it) and ribbon on sale for under $1.00. Sew the satin into an oval pillow (inside out, leave a gap) and then stuff it. Fluff it out, position it in the shell. Stitch your ribbon on the pillow. Hot glue gun the pillow to the inside of the shell. DONE! So for less than $30 for Canadian ladies, I was able to DIY my own ring bearer pillow. For you ladies in the states, I can probably guess it would cost you closer to $20!! <3 I apologize for the lighting in my house. The shell is pearly white, satin pillow is white and the ribbon is champange. Our wedding colours are white, champange and burgundy~
