Did anyone have a beach wedding using the regular sound system that MP provides? Was it loud enough for everyone to hear? Does that include the mic that the officiant uses?

We booked the Oceanview and hope to upgrade with credits once we get there~

How did you go about asking to have your reception dinner at El Caribeno if it wasn't on the list? How did you create a set menu (did you have something to choose from?)

Thanks for the info and responses ladies. I don't qualify for unlimited events (not even close) but I still want a welcome dinner and a rehearsal dinner reservation at the restaurants. I'm not happy about them wanting to charge me the same rate as a private event for that... Might just show up on the day of instead.

We've hit 18 but not sure how many more will confirm. =/ Kind of annoyed chasing RSVPs actually so it's really hard to set my mind to commit to a reservation for x number of people.

May I ask how many people you booked for? (Or if you know the max capacity?)

Hey ladies!! After reading all threads and reviews, I still can't decide between reception dinner at El Caribeno or Arrecifes. It would be around 7:30pm. Any recommendations?

Does anyone know if we have to book through Katie before we go? Or can we decide when we get there at the meeting with the on-site coordinator?

Hey ladies! I was just talking to a co-worker today who has been to MP recently! She said that the resort is gorgeous, Arrifeces is great as is the club house restaurant and the caribbean one on the Grand side. She said becareful of bug bites (not mosquitoes) when you stand in the dark at night. She's not sure what they are, but they hurt. Also, she said that MP will give you $300 in extra credits if you listen to their membership presentation. Just keep saying no, and that you don't want food because you just ate or whatever. It lasts about an hour and 15 minutes (if you want those extra credits). She says if you want to go to a Palace resort that has a great beach, go to Sun Palace because it's right by the cove (softer and cleaner sand). Moon Palace is located by the more rocky sea bed. =) Hope this helps!!

I have only heard good things about Kalena from the MP reviews. So much so that I actually requested for her to be my on-site.

I just want to echo all the other brides here. I am going through the same thing with my guests. I think I've been a pretty easy-going bride. I've had people pester me about booking information in December. When I got the info to them, they still (to this day) have not booked. The RSVP deadline was March 1 and I didn't even get a response card from some of them. If you can't come, just say you can't come. Don't string me along for months when I need to know numbers. Hoing and humming about whether or not you can make it... =/ What bugs me even more than the flakes are the people who want to be the "exception" to the RSVP deadline. Some even went so far to ask me if they can respond in MAY. That's less then 30 days from my wedding. Ugh.
