I'm baaaaaaaaaaack! Now a married woman! I will be putting up a comprehensive review of EVERYTHING. I hope to be done within the week. Kalena was supposed to be my coordinator but I was "reassigned" someone else because apparently the day I arrived was Kalena's last day (but apparently no one found the need to tell me). If anyone has questions, feel free to PM me in the meantime!

We are leaving tomorrow for Moon Palace!! Can't wait!! I definitely plan on doing a very indepth review when I get back. mpweddingplan, I totally agree with you which was way I totally ignored her comment. It seems to me that Moon Palace staff seem so much more competent than their Miami counterparts. The Palace Resorts really need to do some investigation and staff purging in that sector. We'll see how it goes and I will let you know my experience when I get back. I am not a stranger to writing formal complaints when necessary.

We're doing a rehearsal/welcome dinner. But we're meeting bridal party only (earlier at the ceremony location) for an ACTUAL rehearsal. Then everyone is welcome to join us for dinner afterward (just a dinner like a meet n greet). We're not reserving, will just be showing up. I've been told that many brides have done this without a problem.

Custom Linen Suits $99!
mrsbruff2b replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Sorry for the triple post, I wish there was an edit feature. Also forgot to add: For brides considering ordering. I would recommend doing pre-set sizes if you want to order shirts. For suits, if your FI already has a fitted suit at home, you can do the custom suit option and measure at home. If I could re-do my order, I would do pre-set sizes for shirts in pure linen. -

Custom Linen Suits $99!
mrsbruff2b replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ok so here is my quick review. I will do a full review after we return from our trip so that I can see the full extent of a Studio Suit wearability. For reference, I live in Canada. We ordered: 1 full linen suit in Tropical Beige 1 linen pant in Tropical Beige 1 pure linen long sleeve shirt 2 linen short sleeve shirts As other brides have said, production and shipping were fairly quick. (I had a boatload of problems with DHL the shipping company, but that is a totally separate issue from Studiosuits.) The suit was packaged nicely. Please excuse the colour of my camera (it's a little green) but the colour of the suit was as expected. The suit came exactly as measured and fit my FI the way he liked it. (I personally think it might be too baggy but FI likes his stuff a little loose). What do you think? Should we tailor? The suit quality itself is pretty good for the price. I kind of wish we had dark button options. But for $99 who can complain? In these photos, FI is wearing a LONG SLEEVED PURE LINEN white shirt. It's a little see-through but should be okay under the suit. We also ordered a short sleeve version in case it got too hot. I was NOT PLEASED with this one. The fabric is super thin and rough. For FI, we did a preset size (XL). For my brother, who of smaller stature, usually wearing smaller than adults small but too big for kids sizes, we did a custom short sleeve shirt. It was WAAAAY too small despite us taking measurements from one of his other shirts. So my brother will have to source another top for the wedding. Studiosuits does not do returns/refunds. Overall Grade: B+ $99 linen suit quality - A Pure linen shirt - A Linen shirt - C Production speed and shipping - A -

Thanks for this. I haven't really been stressed until now. Really, the Moon Palace Miami office is causing me so much more frustration than I anticipated. Even being here on the boards and KNOWING that they are slow, isn't what is bothering me, but the extra LEG WORK they want me to do. Joannis resent the excel spreadsheet to me today with the extra "fees and charges" ... and there is a $300 civil fee... that I ALREADY PAID BACK IN AUGUST. If it was someone else who didn't check their older paper work (or someone who can't check their cc statement from over 6 months ago) they may have just paid Moon Palace and extra $300. Honestly, I have so many details to work out and they're just sending me on a wild goose chase. The $65 set up fee is for ceremony only. I don't even want to ask about reception. I told Joannis to take it off for now. I'll talk to Kalena about it in person.

I'm a little irked. Joannis and I spoke on the phone a few weeks ago. She copied down the wrong information/details. I sent and email back to ask her to correct it and she said she'd put me in contact with Kalena. Kalena has never contacted me (I know she is busy). But Joannis never even tried to make the corrections. Today, she had the gall to send me an invoice with all the uncorrected information saying "pending signature and payment in order to have your coordinator contact you". Uh what? I thought things would be charged to my room. And after reading things on here about unauthorized charges, I don't trust sending my CC information over.

Ladies who just did a reception dinner at one of the restaurants, did you do your first dance, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss there? If so, did you hire PSAV or someone to play music or DJ at the restaurant? Or did you just have no music? Or did you play a CD/IPOD? Did someone announce your first dance, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss? I'm debating whether or not to hire PSAV or get some sort of music player for dinner.
