  1. They do. This is copied straight from my review: Dress/Suit steaming: A I heard that there is usually a rank smell coming from the steamed items. So I put my nose up to my dress the second I got it. There is a smell, but it wasn’t completely noticeable unless you stick your face right up to it. I gave the dress and suit to my coordinator for steaming on the Sunday. It was Tuesday and I still hadn’t heard anything so I called to ask. The dress was finally delivered to my room the night before the wedding. You can’t use the resort credits for this. It cost $60 for my wedding dress and $42 for the groom’s suit. Bring extra clothes and underwear!! Laundry is expensive (cheapest is $3 per panty).
  2. Thanks!! We should be getting all our pro photos next week (I will be updating here and on my review)~ To answer your questions: Yes, guests can hear all your music and see the carriage from the beach. The carriage ride is about 1 min. (If you choose to get married at Tucan Gazebo, the ride is a tad longer because the carriage has to loop around. YES it was windy. I personally went around asking people for their opinions the whole time and was hoping that it wasn't so windy so that I could keep my hair down. But the general consensus was that you should have your hair up (so I put mine down at the indoor reception). I had my hair UP for the ceremony (with only two wisps of hair on the side) but as you can see in my photos, it go blown all over the place. With the humidity, my hair stuck to my face. If I could go back, I'd put it all up even though I HATE putting my hair up. Also my chapel length veil was really annoying because of the wind during the ceremony (I anticipated this) but made for nice photos later. You can hear the officiant and the music but you won't hear guests talking during the ceremony. If you plan to read your own vows, they will hand you the mic~
  3. One of our groomsmen were not able to make our wedding. He's in the army and one of his soldiers passed. The resort won't give him a refund until he produces proof that he's in the army and a confirmation of death... I feel so crappy for him right now.
  4. OUR PRO-PIC SNEAK PEEK IS HERE!! I would truly appreciate it if you guys could make a quick comment on the blog post!! Thanks in advance!! http://www.taitphoto.com/blog/moon-palace-destination-wedding-in-mexico-mayan-riviera/
  5. I talked about the blood work in my review. It went well and fast. No bruising at all. We didn't hear back about anything so I suppose everything was fine (didn't see results or anything).
  6. The dinner at a restaurant is free. And you usually have to choose from a set menu (they give you the menu, you choose one from each category of app, soup, entree, dessert).
  7. Well any of the larger restaurants I listed should be okay, but for 40, I would take advantage of the private setting and use my unlimited evens on a terrace or rooftop terrace. =)
  8. Yes for sure. I don't feel so alone knowing that I'm not the only one with a less than fabulous experience. Thanks Dan~
  9. Our Le Blanc honeymoon review has been posted! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/le-blanc-spa-resort-all-inclusive/reviews/6299#
  10. My review has been posted. I will edit the review to add/replace with pro-photos once I get them! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/moon-palace-golf-spa-resort-all-inclusive/reviews/6295
  11. Awesome thanks! I think I'll post my review(s) sometime today. I still want to be able to edit them as new pics come in!
  12. We need a honeymoon redo. =( Dan, are you still able to edit your review now? (Time limit?)
  13. Basically it means (as everyone predicted) the Miami office is being shut down because of their incompetence. Now all questions will be dealt with by the actually on-site coordinators. I predict that it will be better, but probably not by much since the on-sites are very busy is weddings there. I think that the best way to handle this is to have designated staff for the "Miami coordinators" actually AT Moon Palace.
  14. We were not contacted by the onsite coordinator at all. We requested and expected Kalena. When we got there, they told us her last day would be before our wedding. So we requested Valeria or Claudia. They gave us Teresa. She did okay.
  15. I also skipped on Del Sol because of the budget and style issue. My husband and I went to CocoBongo (AMAZING!!) But be prepared for the club scene (no seats!). You'll be standing and it will be quite crowded (are you bringing your photographers? It might be ... very difficult to get professional pictures at CocoBongo). It's like a super packed club. There is also a smoking area right by the entrance so if you are allergic or sensitive to smoke (or have guests who are), find a place far in. You guys will have a BLAST. CocoBongo is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from Le Blanc... you could take public transit but at that time at night, EVERYONE is going into the entertainment district... you'll walk about the same speed as the bus. Just FYI~
  16. We were at Le Blanc for our honeymoon and I am actually glad we didn't get married there. It's a great getaway but the gazebo looked SO small compared to the photos. We also had water problems in our first room (504). It wasn't until I broke down in tears over the stress of my wedding did they move us to a new room. Did you also experience damp bedsheets? We chalked it up to humidity but apparently none of our guests noticed... I too saw buckets and towels all over the place. You'd think they'd be better prepared for the weather seeing as they have "rainy season" every year? That said, I absolutely LOVED the food and the butlers. I'm so sorry that your experience was not as amazing as you expected, but know you're not alone. It rained 4/5 days we were there and I was incredibly sad. =(
