  1. I am a sales manager for a boutique software company. I am actually one of 11 people in my office.
  2. thanks, everyone! I can't believe our wedding is this year!
  3. What are you ladies doing as far as a purse for the wedding? I never carry a bag around when I go to an all inclusive place, but I realized I may want to carry around extra lipstick, my room key, etc. Are you ladies bringing a clutch for your big day or handing it over to a bridesmaid/family member to carry your stuff?
  4. One of my bridesmaid's is a amateur photographer and was kind enough to take our engagement pictures at Longwood Gardens over the summer. I am still not sure what I am going to do with them, but here are some of my faves!
  5. Why don't you have the venue clear the center pieces when they clear dessert? By then most people are on the dance floor anyway. That way they are out of the way and you can take them home with you at the end of the night, with a less chance of poeple stealing them.
  6. Hey Dee, The sun sets at 7p in April so I'm sure it's later in August.
  7. My girls are wearing it in terra cotta, I love the dress, they flatter everyone!
  8. CdnBeat-- are those Bill Levkoff dresses? They look just like my BM's dresses.
  9. Oh I love this thread! My pup is like our child! Here is this year's Holiday card. And his pic I am including on my bouquet
  10. Our ceremony is at 6:30 which is later that I wanted, but it was either that or 3p and I didn't want any time between the ceremony and reception. We are doing our pics beforehand and then partying the remainder of the night. At least we'll have romantic sunset light when we say "I do"!
  11. Hi BrightBride! I was able to custom my package with PhotoSouvenir to get the time, pics and album I wanted and they were very easy to work with. I have been dealing with Severine and she always gets back to me in a timely manner and even when I wanted to make some changes to the package, it wasn't a problem. I love their photos, I follow them on Facebook and they just revamped their site. Compared ot Aricife I got a lot more time and photos for the money.
  12. Hey Janet, I love your pics, it makes me so excited to get married! I wanted to ask if you think the hair trial is worth the money? I am doing a modified version of my hair down and not sure $55 is worth them using the curling iron a few times. Thanks! Cortney
  13. I realized I never put up a pick of my ring-- we've been engaged for 6 months! Here it is
  14. Has anyone heard from Miguelina this week? I sent her an email Sunday night and haven't heard back... I just got an automatic response that it will take longer than normal to hear back from her due to busy season...
  15. If anyone wants to follow me my wedding board is pretty huge, Cortney Cutler
  16. I was thinking of doing the grill buffet too, just because of love me some grillin' I would need to add some vegetarian things as well.
  17. Janet, What food package did you go with? We can't decide and would love to hear your thoughts on your food thanks, Cortney
  18. I'm getting the international plan for the month of the wedding. That way if people need to reach me before I am not being charged an arm and and a leg
  19. Hi Sharon (and fellow Philly gal), We are doing the same thing. We are treating our legal ceremony as a formality, almost like applying for your license just with a little extra added on. Our anniversary is going to be our wedding day in the DR. We are getting a blessing from a pastor in the DR and we have a copy of the ceremony. I would never know that this wasn't real. He is even creating a certificate for us to sign so it looks more real. I think if you treat your day in Mexico as your actual day no one will know the difference. Most people don't know the legal steps that need to occur in Mexico so finger prints, blood work, etc are not being done will go unnoticed. I wouldn't worry! Enjoy your day on May 3rd! -Cort
  20. Vera Bradley had passport covers. I was thinking getting a different color for each of my girls. What do you all think? I also paid for their jewelry http://www.verabradley.com/product/Passport-Cover/1001225/defaultColor/Floral+Nightingale/p/1001225.uts?fromSearch=1
  21. We are getting married at 6:30 but our photographer is coming at 3p. The bridal suites are available from 9-12 or 1-4. Apparently they close from 12-1 for lunch. If you are doing pictures afterwards you should be fine. Sunset is at 7p when we get married so we need to do all our pictures beforehand. Email the spa directly Daniela will book everything for you and reserve the bridal suite. Her email is [email protected] I have some pics of things I love that I found online as well... Pinterest is dangerous! Maybe I will send her some pics for a quote.
  22. Thanks for all that info! I had no idea about the BBQ Beach party, we have 50 people booked right now and are expected 60-65. I will have to ask Miguelina about it. It would be great to save some money! I moved mine to poolside as well per her recommendation. No dance floor rental and no night crawlers on the beach. Miguelina alluded to the CD thing, but wasn't completely clear on it. That clarified things a lot. My call with Miguelina on Saturday was actually really productive. We went over a lot of the details of the wedding I had spoke to Teresa about. The most interesting thing I learned, which I think will be useful to you ladies is that the resort is no longer recommending DJ Mannia. Apparently the new person in charge of Punta Cana is unreliable and they had a few weddings where the DJ showed up late or came a couple mins before the wedding asking about songs. They are using someone different now and she already sent me a form to fill out for intros, first dance songs, cake cutting songs as well as what songs we definitely want played and a do not play list. Mike and I have a job to do to pick out all of this but I'm glad its taken care of. Also, they work closely with Pastor Rick York so if you plan on using him, just let her know and they will confirm it. The fee for using an outside photographer is $120. If you go on their Picasa site and pick out what you want, she will give you a price quote. I am having trouble picking a bouquet I want though. Oh, I just booked my hair/makeup for my girls. I'm glad I did, as they have 3 people who do everything. I booked everyone from 1-4p and was able to get a bridal suite for that time as well. It's $250 which seemed a bit ridiculous but we have a room they feed us and bring in champagne. And its easier than running back and forth to our rooms to get ready. Phew! that was a lot of typing
