Lmazz, I'm confused.... you just went to the lobby to book a reservation for all 38 people to avoid the $15? I would love to do some sort of "rehearsal" dinner but don't want to pay the resort any more money since they are charging so much already. Also, what was wrong with the rooms? I keep hearing there are room problems, but you would think at this point they would be fixed? How was the wedding itself? Any other insight would be appreciated!

Ladies, after waiting anxiously since June, my wedding dress came in today!!!! I get to try it on Sunday! My BM's dresses also came in today so we are making it a girls day out of it since ordered from the same store! I am very excited and felt the need to share!

Since we are having a small wedding in the DR, I am having a shower with our whole families and friends on March 3rd at a local country club. My wedding colors are aqua and coral my shower has somewhat of a beach theme. I found this dress on Lilly Pulitzer that I sorta love, but I think it may be too casual for my shower. Especially because it will still be cold here in PA. My sister said it was too casual, my BM said I should wear it with a cardigan. I need more opinions.... what do you ladies think?

I was in the same situation, I'm not super close with my future SIL and we don't have a ton in common. Don't get me wrong, she's nice, but we're just not really friends. But then I thought about it, I couldn't imagine not having my own sister in my wedding, as she's my MOH. I'm sure my FI feels the same way, its family that he grew up with, of course she should be standing up there with him as we say I do. We are not mixing the sexes on each side, so she will be up there with me in a coral dress like my other bridesmaids. I can tell you she hasn't been super helpful with planning stuff for my shower and I doubt she'll attend my bachelorette, but she's about to be family and deserves to be honored in that way as part of our wedding.

Trivera, I am having the same problem with coral. I am doing a lot myself, and coral spray paint has been my best friend.

Hi Sfumosa, Airfare to PC from Philly was about $600 for my guests. It was about $150 per night per person. We had 51 people book our wedding, and most people are staying 4-5 nights. I think people who want to come will come and also try to make a vacation out of it. I wouldn't worry, people who want to go will go!

Dee, I would talk to your girl at destionationweddings.com before contacting HDC. My agent sent the email over to the vendor relations department to help get this taken care of. Because even if the vendor is responsible for the cost, they are just going to charge it back to us or back out completely. I am not a fan of Arrecife's photography, just not my taste level, and they are so over priced its ridiculous. I will keep everyone posted as I find out more, but I think the more of you who are in uproars about it the better it will be for all of us. All the external photographer companies that will be covering a wedding event or any other event inside Paradisus must pay a penalty fee by providing service within the property. This penalty fee, is sole responsibility of the outside vendor that offers such services, to opt for a permit to use the property, to do their job, this fee only applies for each outside vendor, not for you as customers. This means that each couple that will get married in any Paradisus must pay a day pass fee US$120 per person for the personal photographer company that you hire directly can have access to the property, but this external vendor must pay a Penalty fee for making use the property facilities to provide private services. This has been a decision taken by Senior (Top) Management, which was definitive on January 01st, 2012. I just replied to Arricife saying I am unwilling to pay that and he said: "The photographer should make the payment at the time to arrive to the Hotel to make the wedding photo session. Is his responsibility not yours" HUH????

ugh, $120 she quoted me, not $125.

I booked at PPC back in June 2011 and that is when I booked PhotoSouvenir and gave them a deposit! I have contacted Miguelina, who quoted me the original $125 plus my weddding coordinator at dw.com. Hopefully this will get resolved quickly, I just found the email I had with Miguelina with a quote of $120 for the outside photographer. Ladies, make sure you save EVERYTHING to get what you were promised!

Looks that this email I got this morning from Arrecife Photography.... I'm about to flip out: would like to inform you that we have no objection if you decide to use the services of Photo-souvenir, but from day January 1st 2012 we start charging a Fee of $ 1,000.00 to anyone who uses the services of external photographers while we were official company at the resort.
