Hello fellow May brides! I have been on a spending/ordering frenzy and it has been so exciting to keep getting packages in the mail! Etsy has become my favourite, as I have ordered my flower girl dress, custom sand ceremony set, bridesmaids bracelets, hair flower, flower girl basket, and my bracelet all from there. I also received my table linens and chair sashes this week, and I am really happy with them. Almost done the OOT bags, but I will be sad when I am done because I am running out of things to do!

Show off your shoes....

Hey Ladies, Here are my shoes! I ordered them from heels.com, I just received them yesterday and I love them. They are my "something blue" Oh and they come in tons of other colours too. -
Hey ladies! If anyone is thinking about pashminas for the OOT bags, I just received my order from FashionUnic and they are awesome. I ordered 22 in 3 different colours. They were $3.75 apiece, and shipping came to about $40, and it only took 10 days to receive them. Really nice quality and I am 100% happy with them

Hey MrsRobinson, congrats on your legal marriage, and it's so exciting that you leave so soon! I have a question for you as I know we are using the same photographer - MTM. What package did you get? I'm trying to decided if I need him for 3, 4 or 5 hours! As for the guest pass for him and his assistant did you just send him the money to cover that cost, or do you pay at the resort and have them waiting for them at reception? Welcome Sarahlynn! I believe that they set up lights for the beach reception, nothing fancy though! I've seen pictures of set-ups with hanging paper lanterns that look really nice, but I'm sure they would charge a lot more for that. We are also doing the light-up dance floor on the beach, but I can't seem to get a price quote from Jacki as she keeps saying that she is waiting to hear back about it. Did they give you a price quote, if so do you mind me asking how much? Cheers, Allison

Hey Julie, I agree that the resort centrepieces are too expensive. Here's what we are going to do for ours (sorry the pic is so huge!). We are renting the vases from the resort for $10 USD, the one's at Dreams will be taller, about 16" as opposed to the one in the picture which is 12". I bought the balls from Walmart, it was $10 for 15 pieces, so I bought 5 packs. I was so excited to find them as turquoise is my colour, but they do come in other colours. The starfish, shells and raffia came from Michael's. So in total it will cost me about $25 per centrepiece, and I think they look great We are also bringing down turquoise pomander balls to line the aisle chairs for the ceremony. We will also be bribing chair sashes, coloured table linens and napkins, which are really affordable and I feel they will make the reception look less generic. I haven't ordered them yet, but the 2 companies I have been looking at are wedding linens direct and the tablecloth factory if you're interested. For wedding favours we plan on going to Playa del Carmen and buying a bunch of authentic maracas in our colours, these will also double as place card settings. We are also doing OOT bags. Originally I wasn't going to, but then I realized it would be a really nice way to thank our guests for coming all the way to Mexico for our wedding. My mom who is an avid sewer actually made custom beach bags (1 per couple), and probably the most expensive thing we are including in them are Bubba kegs which were $6.99 at 50% off. There are tons of brides on here that gave these in their OOT bags and everyone has said they were a huge success. Anyways, good luck in your planning! Allison

604bride2be - I love your pictures! Thanks for posting your review, you definitely have me thinking about having my reception on the beach. I kind of have my heart set on it, but if it's going to be soooooooo windy I may want to reconsider. Did you have to pay extra for the tiffany chairs? I too am also curious as to what you choose for your menu, as we are having a hard time deciding this! Mrs.Robinson - I totally had to go check out that review on TA. It kind of sounds like a person that just likes to complain doesn't it? I mean it's not the resorts fault that it was so windy! I think that we all just have to remember that small mishaps might happen but we'd likely be the only ones that would notice!

Hey Mizpriya, I originally had my heart set on AS but the cheapest price my TA gave me was $1650 per person leaving from Toronto. When deciding to do the destination wedding thing my FI and I decided that we wouldn't make our guests pay anymore than $1500, so that is why I booked at a different resort. Have you looked at the AS thread on here? Very helpful info re: trip costs and wedding packages. The one thing that most AS brides complain about is the outside vendor fee. If you choose to outsource for a photographer or anything else they make you pay a significant fee. Good luck in your decision making process

Hey Ashley, Our group deal through our TA came to about $1500 per person with flights for 7 days. Our discount was a free trip for us if we booked 10 rooms, which we did, we just had to pay the tax which was about $300 each for FI and myself. So I guess the discount came out to be around $2400, which we did use on ourselves due to all the other expenses! Allie

Alison for your bachelorette party check out playacrawl! http://www.playacrawl.com/#!__bachelorettes They pick you and your girls up at the resort take you to 3-4 different bars, and end up at Coco Bongo. You have a personal guide the whole time to make sure you are safe. You don't wait in line anywhere and you sit at a VIP section in the bars. It costs $60 per person including all the drinks!!! I am totally going to do this with my girls. It sounds 100% safe and a very reasonable price. There are reviews on here and everyone said it was amazing! Lol Amanda - OMG I LOVE that guestbook!! I think I just may have to steal your idea! Hope you don't mind! That is exactly what I was looking for :-) How long would that take to get to me though? Do you know?? 604 - You must be SO excited! Have a wonderful time! And I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! Glad to hear your FI's suit fits him well, that must be such a huge relief! Ashley - congrats on booking your date! Would be happy to help you with anything you need (if I know the answers of course) Are any of you doing a bachelorette party while you are there?? My MoH reaallllyyyy wants me to have one, but my overprotective parents and fiance don't want just us girls leaving the resort. So, we are thinking of having the girls AND guys all go out to Coco Bongo's together one night, and then us girls will have a beach day around the resort somewhere. Maybe just play drinking games by the pool or something. Coco Bongo's is an absolute BLAST by the way, if any of you have never been there! Best to reserve a table though, otherwise you are shit outta luck! Ashley, you can buy chair bows online at the tablecloth factory or weddinglinensdirect for about $1 apiece, much more reasonable than what Dreams is charing! We are bribing ours down with us.

604bride2be - yay you must be so excited!!! Thanks for the info on the flowers/bouquets, I was hoping that it would be easy to switch colours. I think I am going to order my FI and suit from studio suits this week. We are just going to go with the preset sizes and just get alterations done here if need be. Great to hear that your FI's suit turned out so well. Safe travels and have an amazing wedding. Pop back in here when you get back and let us know how it went!

Yes, I can see how that would be frustrating! I really am thinking that I may do the same as you; use BM's bouquets as centrepieces. If Jacki does let you know the prices of vase rentals can you post them on here? My biggest problem right now is that I keep changing my mind about decoration and flowers colours! I need to just pick a theme and stick to it lol
-
Hey Alison, Great idea about using the BM's bouquets for the centerpiece flowers, I am also considering doing this. However, I am still interested in the resort centerpieces. Another bride sent me the centerpiece file, but I have no idea what the prices are! I also can't justify spending $150 for a centerpeice. Is there a separate file with all the prices, or did Jacki just send you a quote for the one you liked? If you have a price list can you send it to me? [email protected]

DPA Ladies! Alison, you're getting married in less than a month, you must be getting so excited!!! Oh and I love your shoes, I am looking for fuchsia heels as well, I may have to go to my local nin west store I was wondering what you ladies are doing for your bouquet? Are you picking one from the resort catalouge? A bride on here emailed me the flower catalouge, but I was wondering if anyone knows if colours can be changed? I like some of the bouquet arrangements but not necessarily the colours! I think I am going to go ahead and order my FI a linen suit from studio suits. There are some great reviiews and some not so great reviews on here about them, but I think I may chance it.

Hey Torilynn, I have a question as to how you packed your OOT bags. We also got the 18oz Bubba tumblers, so about 40 in total, and they do take up tons of space. My wedding is not until May, so I haven't actually assembled any of the OOT bags. So I was thinking that when it comes time to pack, I might try to stuff as much stuff as I can into the Bubba kegs (like the survival kit stuff), to save space and then assemble to bags once in Mexico. Are you doing that? Or are you OOT bags going to be put together and you are packing them as is? Just wondering how much luggage space you are dedicating to your OOT bags!
