  1. Hi pamnrodphx, How long will you be there? My wedding is 4/27/2012. I'll be flying in on the 23rd. Please let me know how your site visit goes! I've never been to this resort so I'd love to hear your opinion.
  2. Hi, Your dress is beautiful! It reminds me a lot of the one I ordered. If you don't mind sharing, where did you get that veil. I've been searching for a veil that will look good with the dress. Unfortunately, I purchase a Spring 2012 that's not out on the market yet so I've been having trouble pairing a nice veil. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi! I'm getting married on April 27, 2012. We're staying at The Royal but holding the ceremony at the Gazebo on the Gran Caribe side. The reception will be at the Oceanfront Terrace of the Gran Caribe also. I've seen many photos of the Chapel and it's absolutely beautiful! Lucky you! Good Luck planning!
  4. It looks like the dates for my wedding have been covered on both lists BUT if there is any room for me in the future, I'd like to be added. Pretty Please! I'll be at The Royal Cancun April 23 - May 2.
  5. Hi JayKay, I've searching and I did come across the same site you posted. The guy said he has a color Oasis which is comparable to David's Bridal Oasis. I went to the store and it's definitely closer to the teal color I had in mind. I am just not a huge fan of their dresses so hopefully I can find a color in the Dessy group that is very similar and go from there. It's just so nerve wrecking. I just went through the same thing with the invites! It seems never ending.... Thank you for you advice.
  6. Hi Ladies, Thanks for your opinions. The bridal shop is actually hosting a veil and headpiece trunk show for one of the designers this weekend. I went recently and another designer has a dress similar to the one I bought. One of the consultants said I could try that on when I come in. My dress has a lot of details - full lace and full beading and crystals. So, I don't want anything that will compete with it.....Fingers Crossed that I find one I like!
  7. Hi Ladies, I've chosen teal as my main color with fuchsia and white flowers. Well, I chose this color because I do love the color and I thought it would be more flattering on my MOH than a fuchsia dress. Anyway, I've been having the darnedest time finding teal dresses and sashes. Most designers consider a peacock blue or dark turquoise looking color teal. I'm looking for a greenish looking teal. I really wanted to go with a dress from the dessy group - After Six or Alfred Sung because they have so many options for men's accessories. However, they no longer offer teal in any of their dresses. So, I found a color Caspian that looks okay but then there is the matching items for reception. I'm falling short. Then, I came across their color Oasis. Well, in some pictures it seems more green than Caspian but I've never seen Oasis myself. They did not have it at either bridal salon I visited. So, I'm not sure how it differs from Caspian. In the picture, Caspian is the more shimmery satin on #3 and #5. It looks bright in the picture but in person it was a bit darker. This is Oasis. As I said, I'm not sure of what the color really looks like in person. So, I continued searching and I came across Alfred Angelo tealness which appears to be the shade I've been looking for. http://www.alfredangelo.com/collections/productdisplay.aspx?productID=b1206d74-6c38-4705-b174-66d83ae96957&categoryID=772f03c9-de43-4942-bfa0-da77e21ebd65&pg=0&colorId1= Problem is Alfred Angelo doesn't make accessories for men AND I can't seem to find any chair bows or table runners in this shade. So, I wanted to know if any of you ladies chose teal and/or did you go with any of the above designers? If you did, what did you do for matching reception decor and groomsmen accessories? If not, what designer did you choose? HELP PLEASE!!!!! I'm so stressed!
  8. They didn't have this dress or anything like it. Maybe they'll have one similar when I go back. Or find the next trunk show so I can try on the ress again.
  9. Hi Ladies, Last weekend, I purchased my dress at a trunk show. It's a dress from the Essense of Australia Spring 2012 line so I don't have a pic of it. It's a fitted A Line with sweetheart neckline, full lace, beading, crystals, and some pearls. It also has an empire waist with a jewel in the center. It has a vintage romantic look to it. The pic below is the closest design E of A currently has....just to give you an idea of what it looks like. I think I want a elbow or fingertip veil with matching beading but I'm not sure. I thought something with a scalloped edge or lace edge might look nice. I wish I could try on veils with the dress. Unfortunately, it won't be here until the middle of February so I have to just picture the dress. Anyway, I'm open for suggestions. Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi all, Thank you all for the BIG welcome....I believe I've looked at each of your blogs and albums. Very nice pictures! Gin Bootles, thank you for the compliment! I think I picked a great resort....at least I hope so!
  11. I've booked my wedding date and secured a room block for my guest at The Royal in Cancun. It's now time to get invites out. I'd love to DIY but I really don't have the time. I'd like to do the whole passport or boarding pass invites. Does anyone have vendor suggestions? Thank you in advance.
  12. I'm getting married at The Royal Cancun on April 27,2012!
  13. Hi all, I'm a newbie and recently engage. I've been lurking BDW for a couple of months reading advice on destinations and vendors. I mus say you ladies are very resourceful. I'm looking to get married at the end of April in Riviera Maya or Cancun. I think I've narrowed it down to The Royal based off of past bride reviews and TripAdvisor ratings. I'm trying to find a good balance of luxury, service, food, and of course wedding services! The Royal seems to fit the bill but now I cannot choose between Cancun and PDC. For those that have been to both locations, what are the pros and cons of each? I'm looking for a great beach, fun activities at the resort including some night activities, and nice areas outside the resort. Some people that have been in the area say stay on the resort period but I don't want my guests to be trapped there the entire time. Is it not safe? Also, I chose the end of April because the weather should be stable and it will be after the universities' spring break and before graduation. Can someone confirm that it's a good time to go? Thank you in advance for you help!
