  1. We are going the iPod route for our music. My FI is doing all sorts of research on what apps to use to transition the music, he's working on the mix of music - he's so proud of his contribution..lol Part of me would like to hire a DJ, but we just don't have the extra $$ for that.
  2. I ordered them, I'm not quite that crafty!!! I got them from here: http://www.theweddingdept.com/ They will be great holiday ornaments, or they can be used as a fragrance diffuser with any fragrance oil (they included a small vial of lavender/vanilla oil - I didn't even take a sniff though. I got wind chimes for our parents, (and a set for us too).
  3. I got my favors all wrapped up! Here's how they turned out: And all wrapped up: (I wrote the names on the tags later)
  4. thanks Nikki & Amanda. I'm still on the fence about them - maybe I'll just print them here at home. We don't have a wedding party to introduce, and we aren't doing solos or any special music or whatever.
  5. I agree. Try to talk to him if you can, about your reasons for choosing a DW. We went through something similar - my dad told my FI when he called to "ask" permission to marry me that he wasn't going to Mexico if that's where we were getting married. It was a serious downer for a while, but he eventually changed his mind. My sister isn't going at all - nothing has changed her mind, and it seriously ticks me off that she won't make the effort. But whatever..it is what it is. I hope your father changes his mind too, and is there to support you on your big day. Even if he isn't, as tough as it might be, focus on your happiness and just let it go. You can't control him or make his decisions...
  6. I got it today - it's perfect! and it looks gorgeous with your flowers Dee. thank you!
  7. Did you/are you guys doing a program for the ceremony?? As much as I love the paper stuff, this is one I'm really on the fence about doing. For one thing, I haven't yet decided what I want the ceremony to be. And I don't expect it to be a long or elaborate ceremony either - not religious, no big singing or music or readings. I'm not even sure I want to do any sort of unity ceremony as part of it. I have fans and tears of joy packets for the ceremony itself, but I'm procrastinating big time on the ceremony planning. Curious to hear your thoughts...
  8. I agree - not tacky at all!! You do what feels right and works for you. YAY!!!! I don't think we've had anything purchased from our registry. And my friend who talked about throwing a shower for me seems to have flaked out. Frankly, I don't feel like bringing it up again anyway - it is what it is. Pshaw..you have your dresses, that's what's important!!! I'm hoping to get back into the wedding DIY crap this weekend, but I really have wedding-planning fatigue. I'm almost over it all at this point lol Meanwhile my FI is getting all hardcore about planning the music for the reception. We had a 30 minute conversation about various apps for DJ music, types of music he wanted to include, blah blah blah. And by "we had" I mean he went on and on for 30 minutes while I nodded and tried to feign interest! boys...they are funny.
  9. Mandabear - they are GORGEOUS!!! I love your flowers - the colors are stunning together. Looks like a beautiful wedding.
  10. My mom was with me when I bought the dress, and I've sent her pics each time I've tried it on (for pick up, and fittings). She never gets tired of seeing me in it, and tells me she always gets teary eyed lol (she lives in FL and I'm in TX). She's flying out to be here with me when I pick it up after the alterations, and she's really excited. I say all of that to get to this point: she will have that OMG moment whenever you show it to her. But I bet she'll have it every time she sees you in the dress, if you choose to show her now. That's the way most moms are!
  11. I'm sure she would. she has an etsy shop and does other designs - invites, holiday cards, and such too. http://www.etsy.com/shop/littlebeanshop
  12. Thanks ladies! I think they are hilarious. My friend who has designed all of our wedding stationary designed this for us, based on one I saw from another BDW bride. She designed it in photoshop I think. I don't have a template, just the jpegs that I uploaded. Sorry!!!
  13. Here's ours: double sided, on white. I had them printed at 4x8 size postcard. I used a hole punch for the circle, and cut a small slice to create the door hanger.
