  1. Alrighty ladies, I'm home again and let me say that the adjustment to reality is a tough one!! Here are a few of the site pictures I took. The gazebos are from north to south - so top end of Casitas down to the Health Bar. They are all taken from the main path along the beach. This is the gazebo across from the D'Italia Casitas - love this location. This is D'italias Casita & Bellini Bar (upstairs) - love this plaza This is the next Casitas Gazebo: This one is nice for a small wedding Then the white gazebo next to the salt water pool: Area surrounding the Health Bar (they just opened this building of rooms while we were there) Health Bar I didn't walk a ton farther this day and take pics, but here's one that shows from JoJo's/Beach Bar and south to Gazebo 55. The white Gazebo is the one across from Guacamayas, in my opinion one of the least private locations. We had our ceremony at 55, and I had to laugh when everyone in the 55 building was on their balconies watching, plus people gathered back around the beach (but they all kept their distance). It actually was really special, when I expected it to feel intrusive. You can't quite see the Fuentes, Presidential or Gazebo 55, but they are next. And you can't beat that sunset!! If you look up Murmel's profile, she has great pics of each location from her recent trip. I'm happy to answer any questions about the resort, wedding planning, etc. Just let me know!
  2. We had 5 pieces of luggage plus my dress (and a backpack each). I had dried starfish and shells and such in the bags. My mom also had a piece of luggage for us with decorations. We all went right through, got green lights without a second look.
  3. I'm home! (sniff, sniff, I already miss paradise) Shan, hoping you've heard something from your WC by now. Here's the reading that my friend did for us: Marriage means that you have both decided to live the rest of your lives together as husband and wife, promising to face the future together, accepting whatever may lie ahead. Soon you will be declared man and wife, but you will have to decide each day that stretches out before you, that you truly want to be married. Love makes the burdens lighter, because you divide them. It makes joys more intense because you share them. It makes you stronger so you can reach out and become involved in life in ways you dared not risk alone. True marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony's end. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting. Today you declare your commitment to each other before family and friends, your yesterdays were the path to this moment, and your journey to a future of togetherness becomes a little clearer with each new day.
  4. Well the sad day finally came and we had to leave Mexico. We're home now, and I promise to post more details (and pics) in the days to come. for now, here are a couple of pics that our friends took. I'll share our photog's preview when she posts it too. Ceremony setting: My dad walking me down the aisle: Formals, with half of my photog lol The weather was amazing, the resort was everything I'd hoped for, and it was just a dream wedding!!
  5. They did them all. The price for dj all music includes an mc, and he kept the "events" on track based on what I reviewed w our onsitecoordinator. There's a spreadsheet they have you fill out. I'm happy to email it to you later this weekend when we get home.
  6. Hi dawn, we just had our wedding at edr with dj all music from lomas. These guys were GREAT. We gave them lists of songs, and filled out a spreadsheet. They mixed the music and kept it moving. Everyone had a blast, and we danced the entire time. We has dinner music, an mc to announce everything, and then all of the formal dances. Then a party and a half. You can use them with confidence!
  7. We had a reading, not super flowery or fake, pretty realistic about marriage. I can share it with you when I get home. Sucks about your wc!!! Do you have a TA who can make some calls? That just isn't acceptable at all. It's been chilly at night, so bring pants and a hoodie or sweater just on case! I'm so excited for you girls.
  8. We did the chicken and tuna for our entree choices. They were supposed to offer veggie options for our 2 vegetarians, but somehow that didn't happen. We had the goat cheese quiche which was awesome, a salad, and the dorado profiteroles. It was all delicious! They also brought out a few filets that were also amazing. We haven't made it back there to try anything else, We did it as a welcome dinner, not a rehearsal. We didn't have a rehearsal at all, though I wish I had run one quickly. I don't think your minister would be there, just your bridal party.
  9. It was awesome to have time with him before the ceremony. I got all my tears out of the way, And I was much calmer than if I made him wait to see me. The ceremony was still emotional and the first look didn't take anything away from that. FYI, it's dark down here by 5pm. I think my 4pm ceremony was late, should have done 330.
  10. Sure, we can genie blink you to the altar! Seriously, it was a bit of a blur.
