Show us your wedding dress!

if you do the hair bling, then I'd go with a simple bling earring, and a bling necklace of some sort - can also be simple. you want to balance - bling here, BLING there, bling there, but not BLING BLING BLING, yanno what I mean? and I still think it's a myth that a beach wedding means anything needs to be simple. It should be exactly what you want! if that's a tiara and to feel like a princess, then a tiara it is! be fun with the shoes - go aqua or coral! (I'm biased...!). my aqua shoes got a lot of comments from our guests. I loved them peeking out from my dress. -
Bachelorette Ideas

hi there! you could certainly do a snorkeling/day trip with the girls, depending on what you gals all enjoy. there are so many excursions available - ATVs, snorkeling, zip lines, mayan ruins (Tulum, COBA or Chitzen Nitza). and you can snorkel a number of different ecosystems. My friends did one that went to a cenote, a cave, and then off the beach. They got to cliff dive into the cenote too. they really enjoyed it! If you're looking for reputable tour companies, I can recommend either Olympus Tours or Lomas Travel. We did excursions through Lomas, and our friends/family went through Olympus. Hope that helps! -

it's a gorgeous dress!! are you more of a statement necklace girl, or a big earrings girl? you could do either one with this dress. I'd probably go bling, but I think you could also do colored stones too. shoes - color, or white/ivory? heels or wedges or flats? -

I totally agree with JayKay on both points. Some people just post reviews on TA to get their gripes out. I'd probably be a little leary of stomach problems myself, though they are pretty common on cruise ships and big resorts. A good travel agent will help you find exactly what you're looking for, and also take a lot of the work of booking everyone's travel arrangements off your shoulders. I'd highly recommend a destination wedding expert too - they'll know the ins and outs of the wedding packages, what's included, incentives, etc.

Advice on shoes! Can't decide!
AllieH replied to andreann's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
oh, I totally agree with Andrea on this one!!! I wore turquoise wedges for the ceremony, and I was surprised at how much attention they got. I'm definitely in the "color shoes" camp for weddings. thank you!!! I got the blue starfish from the Bridal Box - it's a brick & mortar store in CA, but has been one of the few places I could find the blue starfish. They shipped fast (ahem, twice), and were easy to work with. http://store.thebridalbox.net/bjstarfish.html is the link to their site and so here's my confession: it didn't stay in my bouquet. I didn't secure it well enough - I should have stuffed it down into an actual stem, but I just had set it into the middle of the bouquet. I lost that particular starfish somewhere on the beach while we took pictures. and had to order another one since it was my something borrowed from JayKay, another BDW bride. My clear starfish that another friend had given me did manage to stay in the bouquet and made it home with me. -
girrrrrrl - it's so not a competition!!!! I want to see all that you come up with, and of course your gorgeous photos. I can't wait to hear all about it!! and I feel ya on the workload thing - our wedding was at the absolute WORST time for me workwise. It shouldn't have been as bad as it was...which is why I chose the timing I did. I hope it all works out wonderfully for you! I'd go with the chargers and return the boxes. I'm cheap thrifty like that!

oh Gale, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It's certainly not unusual for any wedding, especially a destination wedding, but it sure does suck. You can't let the local friends and the ones who are whining about cost steal your happiness. It sounds like you've been through a lot to find the right one, and dang it, you deserve to be able to celebrate your marriage exactly how you want. With that said, you have to accept that people are crappy, and not everyone will be happy for you. And not everyone will be there on your wedding day - they will be the ones missing you, NOT YOU. But those that DO go, those are real friends. They are the ones who will be there for you and support your marriage. You will have an amazing time, it'll be beautiful, and you'll have a great time with those who make the effort. Don't let their issues get you down. You can't control how they act, react, or respond to a destination wedding. You can control how you respond and handle the situation. With your son heading off to basic, that's added stress. So spend the next 20 days focused on your family - your core family. Let the wedding drama float on by and focus on what's most important. The drama & stress they are causing just isn't worth it. Hang in there!!

I don't think most people used them, or if they did, they were thrown in their beach bag vs. worn around their next. I used mine quite a bit though - in a pocket or in my bag if we were walking around the resort. Still, I'd probably purchase them again. I liked having them, and they weren't that expensive. -
wow, two very different dresses!!! honestly, there's no right or wrong answer here. The "rules" about a church dress vs. a beach dress are a myth - so many brides on here have worn what could be called a "church dress", and it's been absolutely stunning on the beach (myself included!). Others have gone the more "beach dress" route and have been stunning too! It's totally about your preference. which dress do you see yourself walking down the aisle wearing? what about after the ceremony?

just got my ideeli email for the morning - Badgley Mischka shoes on sale today! -
I'm right there with you MyTye! I do NOT like the way I look with my hair up either - it still wasn't what I wanted for my wedding, but I wanted to get married on the beach more than I wanted to wear my hair down lol it's all about trade offs. And you never know - you may get lucky and it won't be windy when you are down there!!

Share your ceremony script!
AllieH replied to aeroo's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am guessing most of these are for a symbolic ceremony. when you do the civil (legal) ceremony in Mexico, there's a specific ceremony that they have to do in order to make it legal. I've read that it has to be done in Spanish, and then translated into English, but other brides have said their officiant did it in English for them. we went the symbolic ceremony route, and wrote our own ceremony/vows. -
that's a lot of information to include in an RSVP, especially if they may not have their travel arrangements made when they send back the RSVP (not sure how early your invites are going out?). I would tend to do this for the "send back" part of the RSVP: Kindly reply by 31st JANUARY 2014 Name(s): _____________________ No. of guest(s)_________________ • Wouldn’t miss it for the world. ◦ Wedding date (19th July 2014 ) ◦ Welcome party (18th July 2014) • We’ll celebrate from afar. Promise to dance if you play ______________________ Please advise of any special or dietary requirements. _______________________ and then contact them later for their travel arrangements (or have a travel agent who helps you/your guests with all the arrangements - then this is their domain!).
