welcome to BDW Katie!! I think of reviews as information - everyone is different and unique, and one person's experience is likely to be vastly different from others. When I read a negative review, I ask "is this a deal killer?" and "would this ruin everything"? in general, the answer is no. and then I use that as information to be prepared - "what would I do if that same situation happened to me?". I highly agree with Tammy - consider checking out AS for yourself, and forming your own opinions. Their dress rehearsal is a great deal!

Hi Futurefontana21! You're in luck! I've just started the brand-spanking-new Official EDR/EDCR Thread. It's still a work in progress, but I've begun posting resort info and basic wedding info today. EDR and EDCR are parts of the same resort. The difference is in the rooms/suites that are available in the Royale/Villas side vs. the Casitas side. The Casitas side has larger suites with outdoor showers (and as a result, Casitas are more expensive). Both EDR & EDCR share the wedding ceremony & reception sites. The service is top notch on both sides, you can't go wrong. Take a peek at the thread, and feel free to post any specific questions there, or PM me.

Hi Staci! welcome to BDW. Congrats on your engagement. There are TONS of resorts and options to choose from. Start with deciding what YOU (and your groom...) want for your wedding/event. Big resort? medium resort? small resort? location (Cancun hotel district, RM, Tulum, etc)? what price range do you want to be in? high rise hotel, or resort feel? If you don't have one, I'd highly recommend a travel agent, such as Wright Travel Agency - these ladies KNOW the resorts and have tons of experience with weddings and groups. They can help you narrow down your options, get pricing, and help your guests book. Happy Planning!
