cherry vodka is divine! I like it with sprite or 7-up for an adult cherry-limeade. I also like the rasberry vodka with it.

June 2013 brides- what are you doing?

Yes!! what Jennifer said. Enjoy every moment June brides! -
Congratulations Amanda!!!!! a swim up casita is part of a building of 4 casitas, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. you can walk out to the little "river" and swim to the pool/swim up bar. you share your walk-out area with the casita next door. a swim up individual casita is a standalone casita that has the same "river" and pool access, it just isn't attached to other rooms (so it has a little more privacy). hope that helps! Is one of those the kind that has the little pool right outside the lazy river? Friends of our had that when we were there and that was great but that was a couple of years ago and she said the rooms names have changed from then. We definitely prefer the swim ups to the infinity on the higher floors but don't know which one to get! Thanks in advance! Amanda

Hi Leah! congrats on your upcoming wedding. We used DJ All Music for our wedding in Nov. at EDR. We were very happy with them! They ran the entire reception, and followed the instructions we provided. They have a spreadsheet you will fill out with all of the bridal party, family for intros, songs you want for dinner and for dancing, intros, cake cutting, and the timing of the events that you want to happen. They followed our do not play list, and played nearly all of the songs we requested. We were very happy we booked with them and avoided the outside vendor fee. If I can provide any other information about our experience with them, please let me know! Quote: Originally Posted by leahwolf2014 Hi ladies! I am new to this thread and hope I am doing this right. I would love to not have to pay another fee for the DJ. I have heard a lot about DJ Dorremix but it seems like most brides put their playlist together themselves anyways. So what's the point in paying all that money for a DJ? Has anyone had any experiences the DJ All Music and can give me any positive/negative feedback. Thanks ladies! And I'm super excited to have found this site and be planning my our wedding!

I am just starting to catch back up with everything here. I wanted to share some photos of my Paloma Planca Style #4115 with you. I added the sequined belt to bring a little bit of bling to it. I am sorry I could not decide what pictures to post so I kinda went a little nuts and posted a bunch. Please bare with me...I am a giddy bride! LOL xoxo -
so excited! we finally got our airfare to return for our anniversary in November (well, about 3 weeks after our anniversary, technically). airfare has been outrageous for us! we had to bump our dates around, and Tammy with WTA helped us immensely get everything sorted out. We will be spending Thanksgiving in paradise and I can't wait!!

I agree with Lindsey. The restaurants did get busy around 7:30 or 8pm. If you're in a Casita, you can make reservations for the restaurants every night and then it's definitely not an issue. We tended to eat earlier, and were usually among the first people in the restaurants around 6 or 6:30. The beach is rocky in a lot of areas. There's some areas that you can get into and swim (in and around the sandbags) on the Royale side of the resort, nearest to JoJo's restaurant and the main pool area. They do have the big sandbags (which they call artificial reefs..) that help prevent erosion, and also serves as breakers for windy days. I had heard that these actually make snorkeling around them nice because they do attract the fish.

Katie - gorgeous!!! wishing you & your husband all the best. -
aww thanks Evy! It was definitely a dream wedding. What about looking into the Azul Sensatori or Azul Beach? Those are also Karisma resorts (same family as EDR), and family friendly. Most of them won't really negotiate on their room rates. Are you working with a travel agent? I found that was the best way to get not only the best room rates, but also additional amenities many of the time (private parties or add ons). We used the resort's WC - Lomas Weddings. The only outside vendor we used was my photographer who is a close friend of mine that is a pro, and she stayed at the resort with the rest of our guests (I couldn't imagine anyone else capturing my special day!) They waived the outside vendor fee for her as a result. Also, her 3 night stay was less expensive to pay than the outside vendor fee. I've seen several Karisma brides choose to book the vendor a room at the resort vs. pay the fee. It seems they may be more strict about outside vendors though and allowing them at all. We decided not to pay the outside vendors for any other services - it wasn't the best use of our $$ we felt. I think there may have been ways to get around this, such as going and picking up a cake ourselves, etc. But I didn't want the additional worry or stress of dealing with it. We used the resort's DJ (and loved them), and brought our own decorations for the most part to keep the costs down. That said, there are several resorts who are much more friendly with outside vendors, or charge less of a fee than the Karisma resorts. As you said, having your closest friends and family there is a huge priority for you, so I would keep shopping around for that perfect resort. It's out there!!!

I used the actual lashes too. They worked really well - and it was the first time I've ever worn fake lashes. We stuck them on first, then we put on the rest of my make up. Our last step was to curl & put mascara on them with my own lashes to "bind" them together. They really made a HUGE difference. They stayed in place right up until I forgot and rubbed my eye after the reception. Then one came loose, and I didn't have the glue on me to stick it back on. So I just pulled both of them off and proceeded to the bar for the after party! You can't beat the price of those things though.
