  1. Kisha, I can't wait to see pics of everything! HAPPY WEDDING-MOON! I hope you enjoy every minute of T&C, and your big day. (and safe travels!)
  2. Hi! Lomas current lists the prices for the bridal style & make up (wedding day) at $94 each. They don't show the rehearsal prices; they were $49 each, and I'm not sure if they went up when they raised the wedding day prices. The wedding day prices went up $5, so it's probably safe to assume the rehearsal prices increased too. Lomas should be able to quote the most current pricing during the planning process. Hope that helps!
  3. Quote:Originally Posted by TheWolferts We used Destination Wedings for our travel agent-related things for our wedding, but I was hoping that some of you ladies could recommend some general travel agents that specialize in trips to Mexico. The hubby and I are trying to put together a group trip next winter what about Wright Travel? While yes, they do destination weddings, they also do individual travel, and group travel too. After all, a group trip isn't that much different than a destination wedding, just maybe without all the details/stress about the ceremony/dinner/reception. And you can still get fantastic group perks & discounts.
  4. ugh Carlota, I'm so sorry you are having such a time of it with your mom. The ones we love can certainly hurt us the most. It sounds like there's no pleasing her. You've tried to reason with her, and at some point you may have to just stand up for yourself, and tell her straight out - mom, this is OUR wedding. I love you, and I appreciate that you want nothing but the best for me. I need you to back off and accept that this is how it's going to be. We're looking forward to celebrating our marriage with you. And then quit telling her anything about it... just don't talk about it with her. Don't give her that opportunity to add more stress to your plate. find another sounding board who is more supportive (and objective) with your planning and ideas. You only have 2 more months to go - let her own her drama, you let it go, and try to enjoy the rest of the ride.
  5. I so love this dress!!! especially with the belt - it needs a pop I think.
  6. Most of the black on my hem came off with dry cleaning - so definitely do that before you decide whether or not you can still sell it!! since it'd be a TTD, I think I'd just roll the dress up in a suitcase, and then have them do a quick steam of it at the resort. no reason to stress quite so much about it this time lol Quote:Originally Posted by jnitschke Totally... although traveling with that dress bag was a huge pain in the rear.. but... I was originally planning on trying to sell my dress... but the bottom of my dress was trashed.. pure black almost... so I'm probably not going to be able to sell it... but maybe a TTD next time.. it's not a bad idea... get Sarani to do them, she has awesome TTD pics.. out in the cenotes or in the jungle...very romantic looking.
  7. congratulations!! welcome to BDW. happy wedding planning!!!
  8. peekaboo ladies!! hope everyone is having a good week. keep posting - you'll get to 150 soon!!
  9. Hi there - newer members' posts with attachments sometimes need approval/moderation before they are published. Looks like that's been taken care of! was this your room at EDR? what was their response?
  10. Hi there! On the sashes, you can use organza or satin. I had organza, and honestly I felt like they weren't substantial enough. Even with a bright orange color, they didn't pop as much as I wanted them to. I wish I had used satin... here's a photo of our set up (at EDR). I think it still looked beautiful, so I have no complaints! With the receipts - you need those for gifts, not personal belongings. So if all of your decorations are your personal items (and you aren't giving them away), you are good. You'll want the receipts for any OOT bag items, and/or favors. The max on that is $300 per person, or $600 per married couple. Hope that helps for those two items at least!
  11. Awwwww, I got butterflies reading that. I felt the same way on my wedding day - I think it's EXACTLY how a bride should feel! I'm trying to figure out excuses to haul my dress back down to EDR for a repeat in November so I can feel like that again. TTD? hmmm
  12. I thought the same thing! Overall, I'm sorry it wasn't 100% perfect for you. You looked BEAUTIFUL, and very happy, despite the mishaps.
  13. I love how everything came together - such a beautiful wedding. And the dress is perfect on you too! Congratulations Mrs!!
  14. I recently got an email with discounted rates through November, but those look to be pretty close to the group rates/discounts I've seen previously. http://www.karismahotels.com/Specials/agentType/View/PropertyID/494
  15. Hi Nicole, I think ours were the middle of the day too (and really soon after our meeting with the onsite WC team - that was crappy planning!). You can request different times and/or days, and if the spa can accomodate it, it should be ok. If the WC doesn't offer you a time or day you like, pick one that works best, for now, and then call the spa when you get there and ask to change it. My experience is things are a little more flexible once you are onsite. You'll be offered either an indoor or outdoor massage - the only difference is location (inside the spa, or outside on the beach under the palapas). We did ours outside, and loved hearing the waves and having the breeze blow around us. It was super relaxing! My husband enjoyed it so much that he wants to do it again when we go back for our anniversary - and he's not much of a spa guy at all!
  16. Congratulations on your engagement!!! I've been on quite a few cruises, and they are great for a group - especially with varied ages and interest. But I'm now completely hooked on the all inclusive resort experience. It's a tough choice, for sure. Good luck with all of your planning!
  17. hi and welcome to BDW! I'm a big fan of working with travel agents to help narrow down your search and select a resort. Plus they can help all of your guests book their travel, help you negotiate and navigate working with the resort, and take a lot of stress off your shoulders. Check out Wright Travel Agency - they are experts at destinations weddings, and have a TON of experience with RM. You can find more info about WTA here. I'm biased towards the Karisma resorts, specifically the El Dorado adults-only locations. Gourmet food, top notch service, and uber-romantic settings. My own wedding-moon was an absolute dream! If I can share any info about them, please don't hesitate to ask.
  18. welcome to BDW Stacy! if you hunt in the Riviera Maya section, you'll see Excellence has a thread of its own where you can get ideas & info from other brides. congratulations on your upcoming marriage, and wishing you many years of happiness!
