Have you looked online to see if you can find this particular dress in another color closer to what you are wanting? www.bestbridalprices.com might be a good place for you to start, sometimes their prices are much cheaper than what you can find in the store. My sister got married 2 years ago and we were able to save $150 by purchasing our dresses through there rather than at the bridal salon. Good luck on your quest for the right MOH dress!

So it's been since Thanksgiving since I have been on the board. I feel so out of touch and have done nothing with the wedding. I fell right after Thanksgiving and screwed my knee up and now looking at having surgery.......but as long as it's fixed before June then everything will be fine. Right?!?! At least that's what I keep telling myself. There has been some drama with my sister saying she wasn't going to be able to make it and she's a bridesmaid but she called last night to say they were going to make it work so they could be there. House is coming along great and I have been spending most of my time picking out light fixtures, faucets, tubs, sinks carpet, granite you name it and I have been hunting, searching for the best prices on it all. I did finally do a little dress shopping yesterday and found 2 that I love....just waiting for my mom to come down this weekend to make a decision. Nothing like waiting til the last minute and hobbling around with a braced bum knee looking for a dress. Pinning down and photographer and emailing Marvin about flowers in the next 2 weeks. Then it will be time to start putting together the OOT bags for the guests. Now it's time to catch up with all the other beautiful brides on here to see what all you have been up too!!

One more thing.....we started building our house!! Foundation is poured and the framing is done......the roof was supposed to be put on but it finally started RAINING in Texas!!! Praise God!! It's also hunting season and since my FI and future FIL are the ones building it things get put on hold for trips to the ranch on the weekends. But it's all good since we won't need it until June. I'm going to try and get some pics this week so everyone can see. And I'm going to get our invitations posted finally! Happy planning ladies!

OMG!!! Everyone has been so incredibly busy in the 2 months I haven't checked in. Between work, school, football for both kids and football for the university I work for, I haven't been able to read the board to keep up with everyone or do any kind of wedding planning what-so-ever! The Christmas holiday break will be much welcomed and busy getting my wedding stuff done! Quick update on RSVP's we have 12 that have responded yes with all of them staying at least 5 nights......so close but yet so far from 75!! A few being ones we didn't expect to come so that's very exciting. Praying that we get the 75! Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hope everyone's is safe!

Jamie and ndvidul the STD's and message bottles look GREAT!!! Oh and ndvidul thanks for checking out the website!!! I'm going to try and work on it some more this weekend and get some pics posted. I'm really hoping that this weekend I can get the pics posted of ours. My FI will be dove hunting this weekend so I won't have him around and it's homecoming so the kids will be out doing their thing. So maybe I can find some time to do something I would like for a change. Ha! One thing for you ladies to think about.......I just found out if you have a TA and anyone attending your wedding books directly through the resort through another travel site you don't get credit for those room nights. We have 2 couples that booked through the membership. I'm a little sad about that but what can you do. However I'm very thankful they will be making the trip. Hope you all are having a wonderful day!!!

Question for the married ladies......do any of you know how much the little bottles of tequila were? We are having an AHR upon our return and was thinking that I might pick up a bunch of those for our guests at the reception instead of doing the same old stuff that everyone else does as party favors. I wasn't sure if it was cheaper or if it would just be better to check with my friend who owns a liquor store here in Texas. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Jamie5280 Yes it does take that long due to them coordinating with the judge or minister that will be presiding over your ceremony. Apparently it takes a while to see who is available on your date. It actually took us about 6 weeks to get ours confirmed because we decided to change the type of ceremony we wanted from civil to symbolic. It saves you about $600 if you legally get married in the states either before or after you go to Mexico. The resort has your date and time reserved though. Try not to sweat it. Happy planning!

I have Lizzie and she's been AMAZING!!! Very prompt to respond to emails....usually less that 24 hours. Whew!! And she's the one that sent me all the stuff on where we could have the ceremony and other events. She also encouraged me to pick the ceremony location soon so we could get it reserved. Love her!!

Hi Ladies!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!!! I heard from Lizzie yesterday and we have the Bugambillia Gazebo reserved for the big day! So excited that's the one we got. I love the ocean view in the back. It's going to be such a beautiful back drop!! Hoping to get the pics up of our invitations this weekend, if not tonight. We have had a few more RSVPs come back saying yes they will be making the trip. Closer to that 75 night mark!!! All of this news has made this long week so much better. Have a great weekend!!! Happy planning!!

Good morning ladies!! Hope everyone is doing well! I feel so behind!! I haven't had a chance to check in on the board the last few weeks. Looks like everyone has been very busy. We have had so much going on with school back in session and work stuff. We did get our invites out about 2 weeks ago and have already received a few RSVPs back. So far we have 15 couples ready to take a vacation!!! Yay!!! So excited!! Now just waiting to see how many nights they book. We are really hoping to get the 75 nights as most of you are! I'm hoping to post our invites soon for everyone to see. Happy planning!!

Well ladies it appears that this department is pricing outside vendors even higher!! Lizzie said it would be $388 for us to bring in a different photographer. I even asked her about David Pena who supposedly shoots for Smile Market. But on a brighter note she does seem to be answering more quickly than the Miami office. So I don't know....guess we shall discuss and see if it's worth bringing in an outsider for the money. I really like Octavio's pictures so I might just have to buckle down on the finances just to bring him in. She sent me a form to fill out with our travel arrangements, to pick out the cake, flowers and where we would like to have the cocktail hour, private event and breakfast menu. I'm going to fill out as much as possible. We are pretty positive that we will have the 75 room nights to get the unlimited private events but I don't want to put that down just yet. You never know what could happen. Anyways I hope this helps you ladies and guys out some. Hi Lizzie! Thanks for sending this information. We are very excited to start making some plans for the big day! We will start looking through it and making some decisions. I do have a few questions for you. 1. How soon do you need to have our travel plans for us to start making plans? I will email our travel agent and see if she has a reservation number for us to get started. Your wedding is on June, 90 day before we´ll contact you in order to planning all the details. 2. On the number of attendees, I have an estimation right now, when do you need final numbers to see if we qualify for the unlimited private functions? I believe that we will have enough to cover the 75 nights. we need the final number 90 day before the wedding 3. Can we fill the form out and email it back to you or do we need to fax it? by email will be wonderfull 4. How easy will it be for make changes later if we need to add people, if we decide to stay at the resort longer, if we want to change our wedding package? it is easy, 90 day before the wedding we need to have it definite, all about the rooms contract or wedding contract is necesary contact to Janina Mendoza from Miami office. 5. Can you send some pictures (other than what are on the website) from a diamond collection wedding and what decorations are included in that? I'm trying to decide if I would like to change it based on the decorations that are offered versus using the natural beauty of the resort. sure!! please find enclosed a Diamond collection there you can find all the details about it. 6. We are trying to decide what to do about a photographer. Is David Pena the photographer that you use for Smile Market? If so can we request him? He's one that we have on our top list. If not and we decide to hire him we would just need to purchase a day pass for him and his assistant? Outside vendor services (photography, florists, decor companies, audio visual companies, entertainers, etc) are not permitted on permises. we will provide our couples with a variety of in-house services to choose from. A penalty fee of $388 USD will be charged per vendor per event to the couple´s Wedding bill. Palace Resorts will not be claimed responsible for any such required services

Hi Mellisay123 I can definitely send you the other stuff I got from Lizzie, it just says what you get with the comp package and then the private events stuff. Basically shows pictures of where you could have a reception/cocktail hour and what decorations they offer. These are the "extras" that you can pay for. But I'll let you know when I get the other stuff. As far as getting flack from family or friends about having a wedding in Mexico, we did at first. People were concerned about the costs. When we broke it down for them that for around $2200/couple they could have a 5 night vacation with all the food, drinks both alcoholic and non, plus the resort credit people stopped grumbling. There are still a few "good" friends that are moaning but I just told them if they couldn't afford to make it then it was fine we understand and they could attend the AHR later. (Granted these few people are the types that won't commit to saving any money and complain every month they are broke but still come to work wearing a new outfit to work every Monday.) So I have just decided to stick to saying that when these individuals complain. My FMIL and FFIL were both disappointed that we weren't getting married in a church and there were several harsh comments made to us about it. But my response was it's our wedding and what closer way to be with God than to be out in the world that he created. Ha! We also explained to our families that this was our wedding and this was what we wanted. My FI's brother married a couple of months ago and they had a huge wedding. The bride was meeting people for the first time in her wedding dress due to his parents inviting so many people. We didn't want that. For us this special/intimate day is to be spent with people that have supported us in our "dating" relationship and will continue in our marriage, not people that our parents do business with or that are there just to enjoy a party. This is easily resolved with a destination wedding because really all the people that will come are ones that truly want to be there to celebrate our special day with us. Just remember it's for you and your future hubby not for everyone else. This should be day just for you guys and what you want. Hopefully it gets better for you!

Hey rae12vb, I looked at his stuff. He does really good work. I made my FI sit down last night and we decided it will more than likely be between him or Octavio Montes. His work is really good and his prices are pretty good to for both prints and digital. Question for you though, have you spoken to Ismael on the digital negatives? Does he to any touch ups or is it just the raw photos that you get on the dvd? That's one question that I wanted answered prior to making our choice. Are you going to do a TTD with him as well?

Hi Ladies, Send me your email addresses. I have tried to attach the documents to the pm but they aren't opening when I click on them to make sure they are there. I'll just email them to you. I went back and looked at the dates. I asked Janina about reserving areas and it was exactly one week later when Lizzie contacted me. So again not a super fast response but a response nonetheless. Rae12vb I wonder if the Palace Resorts also owns Deco Cancun or if they are partners or something and maybe that's why Lily is listed as the contact? Or I guess there could be more than one Lily Sanchez? But I do agree it's weird. It would make sense for them to be one of the "allowed" vendors if they were somehow connected. Just like the photography, David Pena does some of the Smile Market photos for the weddings at MP, but he also works for himself. That was one of my questions to Lizzie was if we could "reserve" David through Smile Market or if I could hire him and just have a day pass for him. I'm kinda thinking he might be easier to get into the resort rather than having to pay the $300 vendor fee.

Well when I asked Janina about it she said she would forward it to the group. I guess I heard from Lizzie a couple of days later. I didn't see her email until yesterday morning and she sent it on Friday. I replied back to her immediately. I got an email back from her today but it was in Spanish and had the name Lucy on it so I don't know if it was a mistake or not. I'm going to give her a few days to respond back and if I don't hear anything I'll respond to the Spanish email and ask her about it. She did include the document that has the pictures of all the wedding sites and reception areas. I have attached it so you ladies can start looking.
