    Hi Everyone, We hired a outside photographer for 5 hours, they will be staying till around 7:30pm. Our reception is from 6-10. I am just wondering if it's custom to invite your photographer to dinner at your reception? Thanks

    Tipping is definitely include for your vacation, that includes all the housekeeping and waiter/waitress as the restaurant and bar. However, when it comes down to the wedding, a lot of these people are just serving you and your guest for a certain amount of period. They are not at all accessible by other hotel guest. So for this reason, I think tipping would be much appreciated to those who just serve you only for your special day.

    that would be fabulous, consider weddings are really quite expensive. Any update on this project?

    Given most of our guest are young people, we are doing this wedding purely for ourselves as our parents are not attending. We will have AHR though. I eventually decided on Gran Caribe Real because of rate and location. Our group rate was only $1105 per person including flight, 6 night 7 days all inclusive, transfer and all tax. This is traveling from Vancouver to Cancun.

    Thanks, I guess that's pretty standard pricing then. Now all I have to do is decide on which DJ to go with. Also, it seems both DJ works with my resort, so looks like I can skip on the outside vendor fee if I go with either one.

    Thank you for replying. Actually I have contacted both DJ. So far only Mannia has replied and they told me to get in contact with my WC. Dj Doremixx did not even reply my email send on last Wed.

    No way, they over charge and does not provide the quality I am looking for, such as photography.

    I am not sure if this is the right thread to ask about DJ, but hopefully someone can help. I am looking to hire a DJ for our wedding, and was looking at both Doremixx and Mannia. Apparently both DJ works with my resort (Gran Caribe). My WC quoted me the following prices: $950 for 4 hours and $700 for light up dance floor, is this around standard or is our resort over charging? THANKS!

    well, what I did was first narrow our search to an area, then searched all their available wedding packages. After that I googled the review for each resort and then also did a search on travel website to get a idea on pricing. From there, I narrowed it down to 3 resort. Then I went ahead and got a few group quotes from companies such as Westjet, Aircanada and Itravel. Base on the quoted price, we asked a few friends on their opinion and finally found our resort and TA. We went with Westjet, they offered us the best price and they have been quite accommodating.     There seems to be quite a lot on these forums. Check the vendor review pages. Personally I am going with Photo in Cancun, but all the other ones also seems amazing. When it come down to it, it all depending on what you are looking for and at wat price.

    I didn't use a TA to be exact, all I did was request a group rate from Westjet, and they offered me a fantastic rate, so we decided to help all our guest book. For our payment, have been assigned a particular agent, so now we are using her as our TA. She is great and answered all our question super fast. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will let you know who our group travel agent is.

    Oh wow, your family is certainly difficult to put it lightly, I can't believe what they are putting you through. If I ever had a family like that, I would like to disown them . Anyways, it great you have things in perspective and hope you have a great wedding

    Just wondering if anyone actually purchased their wedding dress off Ebay, because they have tons of seller who offer customized dresses base on your measurements. They are really reasonably prices, and some designs are gorgeous. I am just not sure if the actual product will look like the pictures. Any thoughts?

    I booked a my guest a Wesjet Vacation through their groups department, and the price was really great. The catch was that u had to have the exact number of guest when requesting a group quote. So I would probably get a head count first and then talk to them to inquire a group quote. You should see at least $100 or $200 dollars off the online rates.
