  1. I just shot a wedding at the DIVI, and the reception was at the Divi Phoenix, and I loved it. As for locations, it's beautiful. Food options are a bit more limited than other sites I've been for all-inclusive weddings. But, I know the couple had an amazing time. The views, the beach, the water, was all fabulous. Here are the images: http://pictage.com/994513 Good luck to all the Aruba Brides! Thanks! Best, Joe G www.jpgphotography.com
  2. The Divi was great. I was there in April for a wedding. Wonderful job done over there!
  3. Hey, I'm not sure if it helps, but I shot a wedding at the DIVI in April, and the reception was at the Phoenix. I don't know all the details about planning, but I can help with location info, atmosphere, etc. Good luck to everything! Best, Joe G www.jpgphotography.com
  4. Hey everyone. I was the photographer at a wedding at Dreams Punta Cana in 2009, and I had a wonderful time. There were about 30 family members there, and the food, decor, weather ... everything was great. We really didn't have many issues. I can get into specifics if anyone would like me to chat about it. AND, the pictures are here: http://pictage.com/660689 or some are on our site, http://www.jpgphotography.com. We came down for three days, did Rehearsal coverage, full day coverage on the wedding, and a Day-After Trash the Dress. BUT, one piece of advice for all brides is asking how many weddings this resort is having on any given day or weekend. On this one Saturday, alone, my couple was one of four brides. We had a couple issues getting the on-site coordinator when we needed her, but I'm not sure if she's still there. Also, we had to maneuver around the other couples a little bit. But I shoot so un-traditional, that it wasn't too big of a deal. But I know that is a big deal for most other couples. Especially if there is a key location you want to do a portrait, like that big Gazebo-like structure in the middle. Make sure another couple isn't using it for their ceremony when you think you're going to want/need it. Thanks, and good luck everyone! Best, Joe G
  5. Hey guys, just starting on the forum, but a long-time photographer. So, full-disclosure in advance. I did a wedding at DPC, and the couple did have a cocktail hour. It was useful because the bride and groom wanted to do a ton of pictures, and really use the grounds. With a more evening ceremony, and that setting sun, the couple wanted to soak all that sun in to their pictures. Having a cocktail hour can be useful too if you want to just have a few minutes a lone with your new spouse. The day goes by so fast. Sometimes stepping away from everyone can help that feel real so you can savor the commitment and joy you just entered into. Hope that helps. Good luck! Best, Joe G www.jpgphotography.com
