Welcome! I am also getting married in Punta Cana (this July!). I've been to the Paradisus Palma Real before and it was a gorgeous resort - top notch and absolutely loved it. I'd recommend any Paradisus resort!

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice! I haven't been to Costa Rica but I LOVE Dominican (that's where I'm getting married).

I've been to the Gran Bahia before - not to the exact one we're getting married at, but one of the same complex. Love their chain of resorts:) I really hope you can get the price down!

Are you able to get a group rate by any chance? My TA got our price down to just slightly over $1500 with the group rate to Gran Bahia, even though prices were listed to be nearly $1700.

Welcome & congratulations. It definitely depends on the resort, but from what I understand your reception can be whatever you want it to be! If you want a traditional one, you can do it. If you want to do something different, I'm sure you could do that too! For us, we will have to pay extra for things like music - it will vary by package though! You could choose to go with a DJ, or maybe you could just get some equipment and do your own music you like? For us, we will have alcohol included for the dinner portion, but if we choose to stay extra hours beyond the dinner, we will have to pay for the alcohol per hour after. Hope this helps a bit
