I coundn't find any sand ceremony sets I liked on Etsy or anywhere else...So I DIY'd it. Reneck Wine Glass = (Candle stick + Mason Jar + loctite adhesive) + (seashells + hot glue) 1 Block Glass Jar from Walmart To us the sand ceremonies resembles everything we have been and what we will become in the future. It also represents the blending of our family and friends. We are going to do a few things differently... 1. Each guest will add a seashell to the jar once they sign the guestbook. - bringing friends together 2. Our Mom's will use Nautilus Shells to fill the jar with regular sand from Playa to symbolize - bringing families together. Like this... 3. We will use my redneck wine glasses with green and blue sand - bring us together.

We knew a lot of our family members could not attend our destination wedding, but we still sent out 100 gift box invitations with a starfish magnet for a keepsake. Let me show you pictures then break it down on how I threw it together. How they arrived to the guests. The box unwrapped. Inside the box The enclosure card The postcard RSVP My Break Down of where I got everything...... Starfish Magnet: I bought the 3-4 inch Starfishes from Ebay Seller - Bestshells 50 psc for $13 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bestshells-White-Pencil-Starfish-3-4-80-100-mm-50-pcs-/300669176965?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4601478c85 I bought the flat Magnet Disc, 1/2"x1/16" from Ebay Seller - Gokrip 50psc for $16 http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=magnet+disc&_sacat=See-All-Categories Add hot glue and wholah you have yourself a starfish magnet. I started to see stars myself after making these... Invitation Boxes: My invitations were 5x7, so I purchased the "gift box" - 50 boxes for about $30 http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=20365&SubGroupID=11230&ParentGroupID=18993#11230 The Invitations: were made by a friend- Free I printed the invitation on photo paper from Sam's Club - .38/each and glued them to card stock for a layering effect. - $30.99 for 100 sheets. I'm using this cardstock for my programs as well. http://www.paperandmore.com/metallic_cardstock_aqua_lagoon_105.html The RSVP postcards & Enclosure Cards: I had these printed up on 4x6 by http://www.uprinting.com/ - $50 To send off each invitation was $1.92 This was a lot of work and very expensive but was worth every penny for us. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Ladies I have a few reception questions...we are having about 40+ guest in a private beach reception. Did anyone do round tables for the reception? How many guest did you fit in each table? – Is 8 too tight or will I need to go with 6? Did your WC require a seating chart? How did the waiters know which meal option to give your guests? - I was wanting to use different colored Maracas as the wedding favor and let the guest sit anywhere they wanted. The different colored maracas could signal what they were having either beef or fish. Do you think this would work??? How is the planning going for you ladies?

Dollar Tree Tote Bags
Julietisurs replied to kball21's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Did you get these? http://www.dollartree.com/arts-crafts/arts-crafts-supplies/Classic-Solid-Colored-Tote-Bags/209c304c304p319506/index.pro?method=search -
This is the centerpiece I made up from Walmart, dollartree & ebay. I will haul these down to Mexico and back for our two AHRs.
-
I am hauling my centerpieces down to Mexico...vases, starfishes, and candles. All of my items were ordered online. I noticed they came from Mexico, China or The Philippines. Everything was packaged so well and nothing broke when it arrived to me. So I'm going to stick the entire box into my luggage like this... I'm sure you could fit a case of mason jars in a luggage and still have room for more. Also, take advantage of your guests...they can help you haul some things down for you as well. The KEY is you just have to ask I hope this helps...

Some dress advice please...
Julietisurs replied to JaimeF's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Jamie - If price didn't matter would you have still picked this dress? I had an issue with paying too much for a dress that I was only going to wear once. Here see my thread from early on... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/74770/help-me-pick-my-beach-wedding-dress/50 On a side note, I also agree with the ladies here. What is appropriate for a beach wedding is the dress you love and how beautiful you feel in it. If you feel beautiful in a ballgown on the beach...have at it! -

With the Mexico wedding and 2 AHR's I can't afford to order our bouquets 3 times....I had to DIY it. Here's what I came up with... My Brooch Bouquet Front - My side Close up Back - His side My Bridesmaids Bouquet - Same concept but with a composite twist and starfish facing forward. (Please excuse my brother's hairy arm) Back side of BM Bouquet There are sooooo many different bridal bouquet types, the perfect one...is the one you like. <---- same goes for the wedding dresses! This blog really helped me out. http://yourweddingbouquet.blogspot.com/ -
