  1. Here is my prelim centerpiece. I did a trial run last night and the full dinner candles with wine bottles were too tall. I need to cut the wine bottles in half. Use the tops with dinner candles, as shown, and the bottom half i'll use as tealight candle holders. Like below...What do you think?
  2. The centerpieces on here are all so pretty! I'm glad I found this thread What do you ladies think of this for a beach reception? I"m thinking about cutting the wine bottles in half. Use the top with the part with dinner candles, like shown, then use the bottom half as either a vase or tealight candle holder.
  3. Thanks Jwed! I pulled the trigger. I sent off my TTD Dress to turn it into a sweetheart neckline. If all goes well and the dress stays up by itself, I'll probably hack off the straps. Great advice! I'll post another pic once the sweetheart is done with. Quote: Originally Posted by Jwed12 Julie, I see what you mean about the shape. I like the flowy-ness of your TTD dress, and I bet your photographer could do great things with it. It also has a great train. The straps on it are gorgeous, but I'm all about strapless. If it stayed up on it's own, I'd totally lose the straps and make it a sweetheart neckline. That might do more for shape. Then you could wear a great necklace with it. I think it will look great.
  4. Congrats! KrystaRyan- did you pick a package or are you going al la carte? Do you know how many will be attending? Whats on your menu?
  5. Congrats to you too Krstna & KrystaRyan!!! Wedding plans are on their way for me. Just started sending out my gift box invitations =) I have never been to Mexico before much less this resort...but I am getting married there. A TON of research was done before I booked my wedding there. I hit the internet first and found Dianep's review. She stayed at the Royal but had her wedding at the Gran. MUST READ!!! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/59649/the-royal-gran-porto-real-wedding-review-long Because of her review we are also having our reception and ceremony at the North Beach. Her wedding ceremony looked private and secluded which I loved, no need for guys in speedos in my wedding pics Then there is the bar with swings at the same site, I'm thinking of making up a photobooth so this would be a great prop. There are so many resorts to pick from so FI and I decided to hired a Travel Agent to help us make our final decision. We went with Legacy Travel. They personally visit all of these resorts and stay there so we trusted them and their recommendations. Plus they provide the couple a webpage their guest's dates of arrival and departure! Here is ours: http://www.legacydestinationweddings.com/upcoming-weddings/85-do-julie-and-steven-newton Our two resorts to pick between was the Azul Sensatori & Azul Fives (10 mins away from Playa) & The Gran Porto Real (in downtown playa). We went with the Gran because of our budget and that it is in walking distance to just about everything..the big ones being the Cozumel Ferry& 5th Street where all the shopping and night life is. Our guests would be bored at the secluded Azul resort. Andrea was my original WC but she no longer works there. Mariana is now my WC and she picked up where Andrea left off without missing a beat. As for decorations and vendors...I am still debating on DIY centerpieces. The hotel florist is pricey but then also found out if you hire outside of the hotel's vendors its a $350 fee PER VENDOR!!! This is the ONLY thing I am upset about. As I may just tI'll keep you updated if we When we booked our rooms with Legacy Travel, the travel insurance and transportation were included. I'm not sure who the transportation company is. Good Luck!!! I really hope this helps. Quote: Originally Posted by K-r-s-t-n-a Hi ladies , Congratulations on your upcoming wedding at GPR!! 6. Hi Ladies- your TTD photos are so beautiful.! Bondgirl- I went with your suggestion with going with del Sol Photography for the Cenote & Beach Trash The Dress. We are booked for June 4, 2012! I'm going to need your help with more jewelry I bought this sample dress for $150..it was a steal and couldn't pass it up. Now I'm not sure if I like it or not...it doesn't give me any shape. What do you think? In a perfect world I'd like to use my ceremony gown but we are going in the cenotes and will need the gown for 2 more receptions. Here is my ceremony gown.
  7. Thank you ladies for posting this, I was wondering the same thing. "how the heck is all this stuff getting down there?!" Taking advantage of your guest's luggage allowance is a great idea....Now I'm on the hunt for cheap luggage. I know on American Airlines may you can check one bag for no charge and a second bag for $30 within the size and weight limitations. Also, distributing the welcome bags at the welcome cocktail event is genius!!!
  8. Help! Can anyone recommend me on who to use to remake this sweetheart ruffled dress? First two photos are from the designer, the last photo is me in it. Many Thanks.
  9. Do you have any left? Please let me know. Thanks.
  10. Dancing and under arm rubbing, I will certainly note that next time I try them on again. Thanks Kris10Kay!
  11. An Update....on my dress hunt. I went back to try on the dresses and have ruled out Dress B. It was a pretty dress but I wanted a Wedding Dress. A grand dress, something I would only be able to wear to my wedding. However, I found another contender. What do you think about Dress C? Here is it's competition. Dress A.
