Crystalz, thanks for the link; your pictures are stunning! Makes me so much more excited, we're officially at 100 days to our wedding day today! We also finally have a restaurant, Gran Tortuga on the Tulum side. Does anyone have any pictures of this one? Also, has anyone had a head table at this one? Jazmin sent me an email and it seemed that the head table only seats 4 people? Where did the rest of the wedding party sit then? Thanks so much, you ladies are so amazing! I have no idea what I'd do without this thread!

Ok, not sure if this is covered somewhere or not, but I am wondering what the restaurants provide as centrepieces or table decorations for dinner. (At this point I am not sure what our restaurant is as we've changed location, and therefore changed WC's and Jazmine has not yet responded). Anyways, I was out shopping with my mom and she wanted to start buying vases and stuff to take to Mexico....which seemed like a bit much for me, yet I'm not sure what is provided. Thanks!

Weight Loss/Fitness Support for 2012 Brides!

I haven't heard of the P.I.N.K Method, but in my opinion as long as you find something that you can stick with you will see a difference; consistency is key. We purchased our P90X DVD's from an online site called Kijiji, and we also looked on Craigslist. So you can check out those, or buy a system that you will use. I've also heard awesome things about Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, so that may be an option. But doing anything is better then doing nothing! -

P90X week one done! And I'm feeling great! There are days I have to force myself to work out, but feel so good afterwards! Starting to feel tighter in the abs already, can't wait to see what the results will be in a few weeks! -

I started P90X a week ago, wedding day on May 22! My 90 days will take me to April, and depending what I need to work on I may get Jillian Michaels '30 Day Shred' to finish off as I've heard great things about it! Good to see there is a thread for motivation and support, because getting off my butt to actually do the workouts is tougher then the workouts themselves, lol! -
Although I am unsure about the spa and photographer, the times we've been to Mexico we've found negotiating for excursions and shopping is best in Pesos. A Mexican friend told me that when Mexicans have to exchange USD they are charged a tax, so having it directly in Pesos means they can use the money right away without any charges.

I've never had a spray tan, I'm quite fair so I always tan before vacations so that I do not burn as easily. Although, I did meet some ladies when I was in Mexico last year who had a spray tan prior to going on vacation, they were laughing because the tan had come off their legs really quickly when they were sitting around the pool soaking their legs and walking along the beach....so depending on how you plan to spend your first few days prior to the wedding, you may have to avoid the pool and beach so that the same thing does not happen.

So not sure if any of you have had issues with Mexico being called too dangerous to travel to, but if anyone tries to tell you otherwise I came across this article a friend posted on Facebook, its really well written with a great sense of humour, and it has very good stats that put things in perspective. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/douglas-anthony-cooper/canada-attack-resort_b_1232486.html

Sorry to bring up the Mexico issue again, but this is so well written! http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/douglas-anthony-cooper/canada-attack-resort_b_1232486.html

Thanks for posting this article, I feel the same way. We're getting married in Mexico this May, and none of our guests have had any issues with the destination. We've traveled to Mexico before, and many other places in the world; and as long as you are a smart traveller nothing horrific should happen. Usually media likes to blow these rare events out of proportion, and often we do not know the full details that led to such events. And yes, there are cities in Canada that can be more dangerous then cities in Mexico. Considering how many thousands of tourists flock to Mexico annually, and although the events are tragic, the numbers are not that alarming.

Thanks Tlseege, I've pushed back so I'll see what come of it. I'm sure I can come up with an alternative, but I'd rather just have everything flow easily. Now another question, for our private poolside reception after dinner if we just order the 'Specialty Cocktails' does the resort allow any outside liquor to be brought in? Being Polish I know my family will expect vodka, is it possible to pick up a few bottles in town to bring to this part of the wedding?

Ok, small dilemma. Currently our ceremony is booked for 5pm, when confirming the ceremony I had no idea that dinner time is 6pm....therefore we have very little time for photos. My options given to me by my WC are: a. Change the ceremony to 1pm b. Change the dinner time to 9:30pm I feel that a 9:30 dinner is way too late, plus then there is no time for dancing. On the other hand my FI does not like the idea of a 1pm ceremony due to the heat, and the beach being busy. Any thoughts or solutions?

Ok, so far I have been very relaxed about the whole wedding; next week we're 4 months away and I'm starting to freak out, I feel like I am so unprepared! Expect many questions from me in the upcoming weeks, but here are a few to start: 1. We're doing the symbolic ceremony, does anyone have a copy of these vows? Are we able add our own, and can we incorporate our own readings? 2. I have not seen much information on the cocktail hour for after the ceremony, does anyone have the options, costs, etc? (We're getting married in Akumal). 3. For dinner, I was thinking of not having a seating plan but I am rethinking that. We're having our dinner at the Dolce Vita, what is the table layout. If I have a seating chart can my WC just put the name cards down prior to our arrival? How does this part work? 4. To DJ or not to DJ? I'm torn between whether or not we should use a DJ for the poolside reception. Does anyone have feedback on the resort DJ, and feedback on the iPod speakers they do provide? That's it for now, I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions soon!
