What do your luggage tags and brochures look like? Did you make them yourself?

We finally booked our trip last week (Majestic Elegance), paid the deposit to Jellyfish and updated the website! I feel a little more settled but still have to get invites picked out and sent! We are finding that with flights also. Although I have never been to the DR so I dont havemuch to compare it to. Right now from MN they are around $700; however, I have been looking at flights out of Boston as well becuase I have family coming from there and I would think they would be significantly cheaper although it isn't. It's tough to know if people should book packages now or if they should just book the room now and wait to see if flights drop

Do you know what the charge for cupcakes is? or a cake? I would love to see examples of cakes and flowers (with prices) but can't find them!

I recall a posting in the Now Larimar that when someone asked about the Jellfish Restaurant, Now Larimar referred the person to Kukua so maybe they will be able to work something out with transportation??

I pretty much harassed Mayte until I received a response J …emails, facebook, phone calls...she did contact me last week, said her husband was in an accident, totaled their car but he is ok. Our first few dates were not available at the Jellyfish but because we have not booked our resort yet, we were somewhat flexible. Our date is now February 3, 2012 and we will do everything at the Jellyfish (although, we might do pictures at the resort before because the Jellyfish seems to have more seaweed/seagrass than the resort would). Sounds like Kukua is great to work with! That really helps minimize the stress level! I am going to try not to do too much until Novemberish--- it might get cray around the holidays and that will increase my stress! I noticed the DR has several holidays in January so I hope that does not impact any planning or organization! Vav, it seems that this will be a perfect place for you with the pool!! After we made the decision to go outside of the resort, we could not have been happier! It is nice to give our guests the opportunity to get a different experience than just the resort.

Mayte posted on Jellyfish's facebook page last night that she has been out of the office for a few days but she will respond to everyone's emails

Hello! Have you heard from anyone else doing a wedding here? The Jellyfish told me Feb 3 was open so I responded that I wanted to take that date (in an email); I have called several times and emailed and no response....I am starting to think I should follow your lead with Kukua. I will patiently wait. How has your communication been with Kukua?

I just looked at another brochure that has the prices listed (one I had did not) and it's $500 for the ceremony at Jellyfish. I don't know if that would be any different if you have your own minister? We would have between 30 an 35 people and I would want chairs, not the pillows so I don't know if that is an additional cost? For the free ceremony at the resort, I wouldn't care if there aren't decorations as it would just be for the ceremony. we can enjoy the decorations at Jellyfish, looks like she does a great job!

Oh! I hope this all gets figured out for you both and that Jen is right! We are just beginning to plan our wedding at the Jellyfish for Feb 2012, little behind the game (we recently switched from Mexico) Sherio, do you know how much extra it is to have your ceremony at Jellyfish? We have our own minister, but I assume they charge for set up?? I am trying to convince my FI to take advantage of the free ceremony at the resort and then reception at Jellyfish.BUT, the resort he wants does not offer a free ceremony (we are debating between Dreams Palms- free ceremony; or the Majestic Elegance) Thanks for any info!

I signed up for international calling and called the Jellyfish today. Of course our date is taken, but she is going to get back to me once she confirms that. I would also like a price list if anyone has it!!! Hi Daz! I just sent you a PM and looked at this other thread and see that you are from MN too We are looking at Jan 20 or so for a date but right now having a difficult time picking a resort! Any info you can send on ME or where you are having your reception would be great! I have been looking at Jellyfish for a reception but I am unsure of the distance and everything. [email protected]

I am waiting to hear back but one of our picks was January 20th, I am assuming it is probably booked. April 13 was alreay booked out. I probably won't hear for a while though

Is there a Sandra there also? My travel agent said that Sandra was previously a contact there. We have both emailed and nobody has resoponded! Makes me nervous...

My fiance and I are considering Now Sapphire for our choice for a destination wedding in January or April (still undecided!) I have reviewed the packages online but I still have several questions. I emailed the resort about a week ago and still have not heard a response. We are considering the Divine Wedding Packages. I have serveral questions for those that have had a wedding at Now Sapphire recently 1) Does the package include the chairs for the ceremony on the beach? I see that they have "beach chairs" as an added option so I am unclear on this 2)Does the Divine package include a private ceremony location (tequilla terrace) or do you still pay the $500 extra to have the private location? 3) What was your experience coordinating with the resort before your arrival? Everything I read makes it sound like there is little contact with the coordinators at the resort before. The cost of the package might sway the resort that we chose so I want to try to answer the questions before committing. Thank you in advance for any advice!!
